I have a mild case of autism and I have been manipulated, yelled at when I didn’t need it and taught to just figure it all out on my own which is stupid. Next time one of my family members does this crap to me I’m telling them that it’s going to turn me into a man I don’t want to be. A man who beats his wife.

John Travolta's burn is so unsettling! Something I really love about movies made back then was how they just let a scene play out and focus on the acting instead of adding all this mood music. Watch some movies from the 70s especially and you'll see a huge difference. Movies today are never quiet. It's the quiet that makes the tension even more intense. I miss that.
He got into a fight with the man that taught her how to ride the bull , then he broke his arm and you want Bud not to be mad . Hell I would be mad too .
Jeff P actually most of that stuff was put just for that scene Only the speakers and the stuffed teddy bears were my moms My mom said they took a whole day to shoot that scene and used the power from my aunts apartment next door also The director gave her ex husband and my uncle cases of schlitz beer 🍺 just for letting them shoot the scene
I’ve watched where Bud picked Sissy up and she was mad at him for hitting her back at the bar and the dude pulls up and says “I almost hit y’all”. If I was that guy I would do anything to get Sissy out of that situation and if she asked for a ride climb in girl.
They used the bull to fight over a feisty beautiful girl. She liked Cowboys. John lived there making this. He actually rode that bull and dismissed the stunt double. Patsy Swayze was the choreographer. Yes, Patrick's Mom. Simple story , great cast. Lived in Dallas, and never went to Gilly's . Not a Cowboy. Loved this film then and now. Debra was actually chosen by John and the director. He said he wouldn't do it without her. And there were some others like Sissy Spacek. Michelle Phifer who were more well known. I really liked Winger and can't imagine any other playing SISSY. She really wasn't a sissy, but it worked.
What does urban have to do with being a pretty boy? Also, "urban cowboy" is referring to him being a country boy/cowboy who now lives in an urban/city environment.

It just dawned on me, sure there’s the mechanical bull ride. But, there was not a single professional rodeo person in the movie. It was mostly people living in mobile homes going to the bar to escape their problems.
I really loved Scott Glenn in this movie. It was probably the one role of a lifetime for this actor. I've never seen a scarier dude than Wes. I would have liked to see him again in as powerful a role. But I guess he didn't want to be typecast. Too bad. All his follow up parts were pretty dull.
I always thought that Bud getting pissed off about Sissy riding the mechanical bull was beyond stupid. Controlling, manipulative, and immature people are the worst.
I mean she was spending time with another guy behind buds back he didn't know it at the time but still kind of shady so idc if he got all upset about that 🤷
I think so too atleast in the beggining of the scene,, but as it unfolds he realizes she lied about what she was really doing that afternoon and he just got worse

Bud is the perfect example of a grown man who never grew out of his little boy’s insecurities and takes it out on everyone in his life.

excellent observation
THIS!!!!
Strongly agree.
I can't imagine a real grown man and woman acting like this over something as stupid as a mechanical bull.
muzik dude you do not know the power the bull has slowly it eats away at you until all you think about is the next ride
I would agree except that it was not really about the mechanical bull.

Scott Glenn as Wes Hightower, is the most calmest remorseless character.
Truth. He's very cold and direct about it too.

Such an underrated actor.
He’s pretty good in daredevil
This entire movie revolves around that mechanical bull, and their fights.
LMAO
Yes,but why?
True, but I STILL (& ALWAYS will LOVE it,) @ least the ending, lol
If anything it was Gilley's itself.
If Marshall would have kept his mouth shut about Sissy riding better, I think Bud might have not been so pissed~
