Mate! I have been playing minecraft for over a decade now and playing modded just about as long as there have been mods. Of all the many RUclips tutorials I have watched this was easily one of, if not the best. 10/10 you’ve got yourself another subscriber.
Thanks so much Jarrod! :) It takes a ton of time to make these videos, but my hope is to eventually have one out per video! Let me know if there is ever a mod you would like a vid on
Thanks for the help. Came here to figure out how to set everything up. Once I figured out how to connect my barrels, I paused the video and set forth to find the materials needed to build the system. Then I built the system and it works great. I now need to connect the wireless terminal. Pressed play to finish watching and find out how, then no bueno. Thanks for getting me this far though. It's nice having the crafting terminal with everything right there. No more searching random chests and barrels. Edit: Silly me, I just realized that you have to be looking directly at the terminal in order for it to open. That's what you meant by having to be able to see it. The wireless terminal is more of an arm extender than it is a terminal. Going to have to make a trip to the nether to get the netherite and make this thing more advanced.
This is fantastic! Yes there are other mods that do this such as RFTools and Refined Storage but this has to be the cleanest and most straightforward storage mod I have seen. I would use this is a lightweight non-technical mod pack.
Short and sweet, expertly laid out video. Thank you so much! This mod is simply amazing in terms of how minimalistic it is and yet how powerful it can be, it's perfect for stuff like BetterMC. Props to the creator!
after watching all the Toms storage mod tut videos that have ever been posted this tops all of them, Thank you for this. you have NO idea how long I've been waiting on a good video
To everyone that has any issue with interdimensional storage access, I was testing in my world because I had some issues and you have to be sure that every chunk that contain your chests must be loaded (I used supermartijin Chunk loader to test it) and beacon range (50 blocks radius) reaches every chest. I had issue initially because I made a storage room and didn't appear every item.
this honestly is great and exactly what i needed, a easy to understand yet thorough dive on all parts of the mod categorized into sections for ease of access. not often you come across such high quality guides like this!
Curiosity: Can we use that Paint to paint the Connection Terminal in the future? I tend to like stone and metal more than wood. I'm playing with the Create Mod and I hope this works on Iron Vaults... using Wood to access Metal Storage is aesthetically awkward though... :P (Edit: In my Shamelessly Biased Opinion, the Connection Terminal would look way sexier painted in "Industrial Iron"... :D )
I like that you can make this as cheap as 1 diamond, 3 quartz, 1 glowstone dust and 1 ender pearl and that's it. Everything else wood and stone. The inventory cable connectors costing a diamond a piece seems quite steep though, but I imagine that's to discourage using it too much to reduce lag or something like that, it does say "long range connections" and the default 16 range radius from inventory connectors is already big. Using just regular chests and room for cables and inventory connector itself (to gain access), that's a potential (27*31*31)-16 = 25,931 inventory slots. Times 64 if all of those slots were stacks that's a potential 1,659,584 items per inventory connector - and those can of course be linked up. It's compatible with other storage mods like extended drawers, and with these two mods alone, I'm pretty much set for inventory space forever.
In fabric 1.18.2, when you put items into the crafting 3X3 box of the Crafting Terminal and then destroy the Terminal, the item will disappear when you place it back. The problem is especially critical when the item is really rare, such as diamonds. I hope you can revise the code such that the item will drop out when destroying the Crafting Terminal Block. Thank you very much! Have a nice day!
Liked+Subbed! I can't stand how mod/game explanations have turned into RUclips's version of online recipes, but this was to the point and under five minutes

Thanks for the vid! I just started on a BetterMC server and this was a huge help! There's just one thing I cannot figure out: how can I attach a second, non-wireless terminal to the system? I kinda wanna have access to a terminal on multiple floors in a house. I laid out some cables but when I attach a terminal to them, it comes up empty :(
how are your experiences with server lag with this storage mod (to all, not just rocki)? seems like it checks many things on server tick? or maybe its cleanly coded, idk.
in your mob farm sorting example, what is above the chest @2:26 ? i thought this was the inventory hopper you mentioned, but that only appears to work for me pulling things out of a chest. is this by some chance from another mod? because I can't seem to replicate your setup here. Thanks!
my only issues with the mod are that the inventory cable connectors are too expensive for a full blown storage system as opposed to just using inventory trims, and that the Inventory Hopper is too slow for faster paced farms making it useless for all modded farms as well as any vanilla farm that outputs faster than the inventory hopper can move items
Thanks so much! Honestly half the reason I do this series is to learn about mods I only know half about. I have used this mod a few times before and never knew about the beacon option!
I'm super sleep deprived right now so maybe this was covered and I hallucinated ice cream truck noises instead of words, but is there a way to put items into the system so they'll attempt to go to existing stacks? I'm using the crafting terminal to shift click stuff in and it's going all over the place. For example, if there were only 20 cobblestone in one chest, it wouldn't necessarily send more cobble to that stack. It might send it to a different chest. Does using the Inventory Hopper solve that?
I'm playing the rad2 minecraft and it has this mod in it, i built a level 4 beacon and the upgraded wireless terminal but it still says I'm too far away from the storage system. I made sure to built everything incluiding the beacon in one chunk, so I don't know whats happening please help
hey im using this in dark rpg and prior modpacks ive played but never understood the range of which the beacon needs to touch the terminal in order for the beacon to give the wireless terminal access through one or more dimensions, is the the beacon itself it needs to be near or the whole structure of the beacon and how far out can it be away from both. also concise video thanks
I have a question. Do the chests and the inventory connector have to be touching the beacon in order for the advanced wireless terminal to work in any dimension? I'm trying to set up a system and I can't seem to get it to work outside of the 64 block radius no matter what.
i do wish i understood what "auto search" means. what exactly is the difference between standard and auto search? it feels like one of those things that everyone except me can understand and so nobody mentions it.
Not sure if this will be seen or not, but using the mod in 1.20.4, the wireless terminal does not work. The key bind is not conflicting with any other mod. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Do I have to pair the terminal to a certain block? If so how and to what block?
I set it up identically to what in the video but the inventory cable dont work when trying to access inventory. They dont work when trying to moving items from one chest to another either. I can access the inventory fine when the terminal is place ld directly on the inventory connector. Can any body spot whats wrong with the cables? Im stumped
Is the beacon feature available in the 1.18.1 version of the mod? I have been struggling to get it to work, and gone so far as to put the terminal on the block on top of the beacon.
1:14 Not sure if this is inherent to the mod itself, cause I'm playing it within a larger modpack, but is it possible that there's a max range of 8 blocks from the inventory connector to the farthest away chest?
i have my main storage in a ruined tower, but i have a mob farm on the other side of my base. can i somehow link the chest for it back to my main inventory tower without using the cable?
And yet, you can't specifically filter out bows because for some reason the mod considers each bow with a different durability as a separate item, so let's say the max durability of a bow is 384, you'd need 384 different filters for it to work.
Is there some sort of limit on how many chests you can chain or distance you can chain from with the connector? I'm having issues getting all my chests to show up in the terminal.
Is there perhaps a way to make an item hopper pull items based on tag from inside the controller and than send them to the trash? cause im having a problem with random sword swords taking up space and im not sure how to filter that. the swords all have different durability so i cant do normal inventory connector and they are not from a mob farm so the design that you did with yours wouldnt work
