THAT TUTORIAL HOUSE. I remember staring at it and counting EACH BLOCK so i could build it exactly like it was in the book. The worst part was when i miscounted and then it was one block shorter than intended 😭😭
To be fair, back when they wrote this coal was usually visible in big sheets on the side of insane mountains/overhangs that were easily dug into - it was decent advice back then.
The deposits aren’t nearly as large on the surface as they used to be, but even in 1.21 I would start Survival worlds and find a few deposits on the mountain surfaces, and larger veins in the mountain caves.
God, I remember those books from back then. I think I was like 8 or something. My mom at first refused to by them for me, but I convinced her and I got the whole 2014 collection. Say what you will about those books, but they did teach me how to craft things lmao. If it wasn’t for them, I probably wouldn’t have ever progressed at all in that game.

1. The 11 vein you found is about as rare as in any other version, since it was not exposed to air. 1.20 only changed ore vein sizes when exposed to air, making them smaller, to combat big caves. 2. I don't play survival often but when I do, I always start with 15 blocks of wood just because I read those books so much as a kid it's been ingrained into my head and it's just automatic at this point
i’d be interested in seeing this done with whatever version was out when the books were published, since they were pretty solid advice for the time iirc. good video :)
I was waiting to you to mention how the Combat handbook suggests you do *NOT* attack Blazes with a sword, but instead use *snowballs or water.* Like yeah, use the water THAT DOESN’T EVEN WORK IN THE NETHER
@@kokotiger1313 Based on visuals, the ingredients are the same, it's the method for obtaining one of them that's changed. The TUTORIAL HOUSE,,,, I remember I made the weird cobblestone basement into a giant pool. It is… the best house I’ve ever built TvT. i still have all 4 of these books I think

Him saying "this looks like a house I would believe in 2012" reminded me of the house I made out of diamond and gold blocks in creative mode back when I was younger
I saw the thumbnail with the house and had immediate flashbacks to my early building days. I remember I only had the construction book and we had the redstone one in my school's library and I checked it out whenever it wasn't on hold
the combat handbook does actually mention using beds to kill the dragon, it wasn’t as useful back then though since the dragon didn’t perch at the portal back then (in fact the portal didn’t spawn until the dragon was already defeated)
I remember seeing these books at my school bookfair and decided buying all of them at once. I still have them and still read it once in a while out of nostalgia and to brew potions

I could've sworn they made a book on combat where they did talk about how to fight the dragon, other hostile mobs, and players.
They did make one I have it😭
