Yeah, this BP closed recently. The McDonald's closed in 2014. Very familiar with this area, I'm from there. Not too long ago they totally remodeled the intersection which cut it off from the road, it used to have direct access to the main road.
2014? That McDonald's looked like it was closed in the 2000s! Sad how these places get abandoned n just sit there. Makes u think about all the abandoned places in time through the eras.
The McDonald's was open up to maybe 5 years ago. I used to go there and get breakfast on my way back home to Richmond from working overnight in Lexington. The BP hasn't been closed all that awful long ago. Not sure why both places were essentially abandoned, as they are in great locations off of the interstate.
I think revamping that intersection and re-routing that service road may have hurt both of those businesses. I use to frequent that mcds quite a bit because I went to the Whitehall park often. Sad to see it abandoned though. It use to be a thriving place.
Have a great night yalll! In Florence, sc may 12.... bucess is opening... want to go see the store. But I really needed valid reason to drive 1 hourish from home.... next time that way . Gotta see the store..
Wallie, the next time you're in this area, I wanted you to know there is an abandoned Long John Silvers on the EKU Bypass off exit 87 in Richmond. Maybe something you might be interested in the next time you pass through here. Anyway, take care buddy. Enjoy your videos.
Tough to say when this closed, I don't smoke cigarettes but I feel Newport cigarettes are more then 6 bucks and change. Then again that does vary from state to state. NY is probably close 10 bucks a pack. BTW you had me rolling when you were running from the bee don't blame you though.
Good video! Don't see too many abandoned BP gas stations around! I am glad you didn't go inside! you never know, who could be inside there! Careful, of those Bee's!
If the bee is big yellow and black it's not a bumbee it's a wood bee and they don't have a stinger they look for food for the queen .And the queen does have a stinger but you won't see them til they are done laying their eggs in wood
It worked out that McDonald's had that back door opened cause if you coul get through the front door I'd have been tempted to not go in either with it being a busy road
On Google Maps I found out that it's open in September of 2019. I think the onset of the pandemic, combined with the cut-off from Route 627 killed off BP
@@andypritchard9644 that makes sense. I also did not take in account he was in Kentucky, cigarettes in Pennsylvania are always more expensive almost $9 a pack for off brand currently.
@@andypritchard9644 Do you happen to know why they decided to cut this off from Route 627 suddenly? Or could you give me some information so I could do some research on the matter?
I guess you can tell how long this BP has been closed by the prices of the smokes by the prices on the windows. Smokers out there, what are the current prices of smokes compared to the prices on the BP???
I’m not in the US, but I noticed those signs & was thinking those prices can’t possibly be real in 202x. The avg price is $6.93USD in KY, apparently, so the signs seem old.. Just for laughs, I’m in the country with the highest govt tax on cigarettes in the world (Australia), where the avg (in USD) is $26.35. I was surprised to find that our gasoline price isn’t as bad as I expected, looks like it is around $5USD per US gallon there, with the equivalent here being $6.54, based on the highest price I have seen here in the last week. I think I took your question way too far, sorry 😂

2014 wasn't that long ago-
Wait. 2014 was 8 years ago.
I think the BP closed in 17 or 18
@@slackingpacking It's probably later than that. 5G didn't become a regular occurrence with cellphones until 2019

@@gman2015z It was still in operation as of 2009. That is probably the last time I remember eating in there.

This must be also in Richmond Kentucky. Thanks for sharing this video Wallie stay awesome.
Had to watch this after the Mcdonalds one, definitely got to trust your gut on exploring some places.
I think Jeremiah mentioned that the Mcdonalds closed in 2014, its crazy what nature and people will do to a place over a period of time.
Love's really is trying to show off with their flashy, light up signs!

Love's stores are easy to get to. BP stations always make for a good video.

Just judging by the sub $4 cigarette prices that BP has been closed for quite a while. 5years or more.
