Sad, when I was a kid and my parents took me to the mall, they'd usually park in the Sears lot so we could walk through and take a look before going into the mall proper Not much you can do with such a big space so I imagine it'll be vacant for a while
Southcenter is the closest mall to me. Though Sears is gone, that mall is still one of the most active and lively malls I've seen in this decade. Going there always makes me feel like we live in alternate reality where malls never started dying. I'm not sure what the secret to their success is... the proximity to the airport? The variety of great restaurants?
Wish I could've visit this Sears for the last time yesterday. Too bad, I didn't had the chance to do so :( I want to thank you for filming this store for the last update. Great video regardless! 👍
I know it was going to close because when I went there and I am from Oregon so I wanted to go to sears one last time but know it’s gone and I wish I could see it’s final moments open and it closed just like the one in Jordan landing where I used to live fair well sears I will miss you :(
Sad to see this store close its doors for the last time. This place was not an always Sears store. Wonder if the Sears signs will be removed or still hang on?
There may be a last goodbye announcement in every Sears department store when the retailer goes out of business entirely which basically will eventually
There is still a website operating. Also only 8 stores are left nationwide. No new store openings have taken place. No new marketing or store look has taken place. The physical store locations can all close but the website will remain. That is what happened to Montgomery Wards. Wards has a website operating today.
The original Montgomery Ward company closed up shop in 2001 after the 2000 bankruptcy and the intellectual property was then bought out in 2004. Ward's since has an operating website today. In 2019 new Sears store openings took place and it was the latest store format called Sears Home and Life but nothing came out of it since and it didn't last for much longer. By 2020 covid led to an uptick in online shopping, resulting in even further decline than pre pandemic. Most recently this year Rue21 went bankrupt for the third time and was closing up shop but suddenly the entire brand and IP was just bought out, with upcoming store reopenings and online shopping
I remember that Sears store really well in Tukwila Washington. One time, i was riding the elevator, and it sounded like the drive machine (cable type traction) was going out with the gears on the drive machine grinding. I mentioned it to store management, and they acted like they didn't even care.
im glad i got to go there in 2019 because ive watched so much media since then dying retails dead malls thank u for the update
thank you for the great memories Sears 😞🕊

Goodbye Sears, You will be missed

Really wish the store actually closed at 6 instead of like An hour or 30 minutes before closure.
Dang, forgot this place was even still open 😔
How did you not get busted for riding the elevator to the 2nd and 3rd floor of that Sears when those areas were closed off?
Nobody asked if they were all technically fired, so yea hope that answers your questions
Sears is GONE. FOREVER. R.I.P Sears 🕊️🕊️🕊️
