Sounds like they kept changing their minds a million times about the Whiterun characters. Like they couldn't figure out which direction they were going in. Apparently there's a group working on bringing back all the cut content.
Exactly. It feels like ever since Morrowind, they just never had a full grasp on what they were putting were and communication between departments just wasn’t there apparently. Of course, there it was just minor stuff, but in Skyrim you can literally see where one idea or iteration ends and where the next one begins. Also, that’s quite neat, but it’s a dangerous pit to navigate, proper restoration.
@@UnknownG2000 hey, speaking of Whiterun characters, Farkas doesn't wear Wolf Armor like his male counterparts and the dialogue from one of the Silver Hand members says "he wears that armor, he dies". Now I know they weren't talking about the mismatched steel set Farkas is wearing, and I'm pretty sure he was talking about Wolf Armor. Do you have a video on this?
I think you mentioned that even Argonians and elderly have voice lines for rumors at Bannered Mare. So Olfina's lack of rumors dialogue can be fixed. It does not make Ysolda less weird though.
No, not for the rumors. The dialogue for ordering Saadia to tend to the player has duplicates for almost every voicetype. Of course, those all become irrelevant once she departs due to the events of her quest.
I always thought it was Ysolda, never considered there were so many candidates. I never tried to kill some npcs to see what happens (I should play more of a murder hobo) Nice to hear Ahlam would be a merchant at some point. With her husband getting a farm and finally reaching the upper class in Whiterun. It is funny how Whiterun, probably the first city completed and our most important city plot wise, has that many mistakes that are fixed in the next settlements.
I never knew Balimund had an adopted son. I found him after I broke into his house. This is so weird that he never leaves the house until Balimund dies.
What do Avulstein Gray-Mane, Olfina Gray-Mane, Saadia, Sigurd, Saffir, Ysolda, and Mikael all have in common? Well, it's one big mess trying to find out, I can tell you that much. The background footage used here is MaliceStryker's Whiterun B-Roll footage #1 and #2: ruclips.net/video/f3M1kmxaEbra/видео.htmlqhG3 ruclips.net/video/8opFnqbsKg8/видео.html The fact that such footage only exists for Whiterun once again confirms the wider community's Whiterun bias, though I'm still thankful, of course.
Ironically Whiterun is the city I like the least because not even City mods can make it feel like a proper/spacious City unlike Windhelm or Solitude, hell even Riften and Falkreath have mods that really up their profile, mods for Whiterun on the other hand might make it look a bit nicer but they don't give a sense of size and scope. I get that Bethesda was ripping off Edoras but Edoras wasn't small
@@karpai5427 I think Riften Revitalized (which itself was inspired by Riften Theif Edition) cluttering it so it feels more closed in gives it a good kind of claustrophobic feeling combined with the verticality it adds by making pathways from rooftop to rooftop. Didn't get ported from Oldrim though
The patch sucks but it also does fix some actual issues, so I think the pros outweigh the cons. I am tempted to remove it sometimes, though. It’s such a shame that there isn’t a better unofficial patch out there.
The unofficial patch changes the backup inkeeper to Mikael, partly because Ysolda isn't set up to be the backup inkeeper, but more importantly because even if she was, her voice type doesn't have the dialogue necessary to start "The Whispering Door", thus locking you out of that quest, and given the absolute mess that Ysolda is, the unofficial patch team justifiably concluded that Bethesda never intended for that quest to be missable.
I've put thousands of hours into this game. Shit, I have a single save file with over 400 hours into it alone (no fast travel). I couldn't name half the npcs in this game. I'm here to explore and horde loot.
Is Olfina really a stormcloak housecarl? This sounds very silly. Why isn't she the one wearing Ancient Nordic Armor? It would look cute on her. By the way. Who is that idiot sitting in Bannered Mare all day complaining about guards? Does he ever do anything at all?
he does like two things, if the stormcloaks take whiterun, he replaces Commander Caius, neither character does much, save for one thieves guild quest as a minor background character.
Yes, Olfina is indeed the Stormcloak housecarl, and it is indeed very silly. It’s a super big afterthought too since she isn’t even marked as essential. And yeah, Sinmir? He’s the Stormcloak replacement for Commander Caius, the guard Captain of Whiterun. Not every city has one of those, and Whiterun is the only city with a backup. Due to the fact that the guard captain needs to be present for a scene in the Thieves Guild questline.
It can be... Ysolda(she won't trade) or Micael? I don't remember. I remember that Ysolda can replace Beletheor for some reason. Even though he has a worker that works for him. Ok. Let's watch the video. Ysolda is a trader, so it makes sense that she would run a shop. WHAT?! Is she asking you for a tusk to make jewelry just like Madesi does? "What does she sell to caravan?" Well she sells drugs to khajiit of course. "It is all in this note". The old woman that runs the jewelry stall never does her job because she is a little crying baby who is upset that her grandson is kidnapped and tortured by elves. I really don't like her. Aaaaaaa. I see that other merchant from a mile away. It is a technically marriable woman from Shor's stone that used to be a miner. Her parents live at Dark Water Crossing (oh boy) and she now lives in Riften and wants to get away from Skyrim for good once she has enough money.
I shall be adopting the term "Whiterunner" from now on.
Love to see it😉

I don't like Riften. It has cool asthetic but it is way too small and no mods make it bigger. @@cyberninjazero5659

Hahahah, that’s only fair, seeing what we got in the final game.
OR you played the game with the "Unofficial Patch" which was a hot mess of fan fiction made by a vile pos.
What did it do? Isn't it's just Ysolda too? I don't think it even gave her any trading or rumors or bed options either.
