The invisible dragons thing is actually a reference to Carl Sagan's "The Demon Haunted World." He uses the example of an invisible, noncorporeal dragon to demonstrate an absurd claim that you technically can't disprove, especially when the claimant can keep moving the goalposts. Yes, this was about God.
M'aiqs lines about Argonians looking better than ever in Morrowind and Khajit looking stranger in Skyrim or people of Sykrim looking bettern than in Cyrodiil is a hint to the new character-models. Kinda true, but in-lore/in-verse wise it makes little sense and is more an opinion indeed.
About the ropes is a joke about inability (By Bethesda, fans did this anyways) to add animations for climbing ropes or ladders. Pretty much same thing happens in Team Fortress 2, where ladders are actually just a 80°~ degree angled surface you run onto to "climb".
4:01 i guess it also might be a reference to dunmers (and possibly other elves too) eating horses as delicacy, which is the main reason why empire stopped trying to deploy any of cavalry units in Morrowind.
M'aiq tells no Lies. Just truths many confuse as lies. M'aiq wishes to know why they don't understand, no? Really tho my man's has never spat a lie ever. All of what he said was true even in a Meta context. This is because he's achieved Chim and therefore knows well the universe and what's beyond it, yet he chooses to wander around and interact with the players in such a way as to hint at this but not directly state it. He does know ALL and will only say things that probably won't shift the game into another storyline. He simply wants to keep the timeline intact with how the devs designed it.
you cant see the dragons that are closer to the ground because they are buried underground making them invisible. also dragon's tongue flower is all over skyrim. so... hes not lying. his one lie is that he calls himself a liar.
If M'aiq really went swimming in ESO, I’m certain a slaughterfish ruined it for him. They only attack where the water is a bit deeper so you have to swim. They are quick, hungry and you can’t fight while swimming.
27:25 I guess that depends on how impactful those 4 lies were 😂 if I lied about something major to everyone, maybe 😂 but I've always thought he didn't lie as much as his name leads on. Good to know I was right
I believe if I'm correct micheal kirkbride wrote something about female dragons that acted as aspects of akatosh to repair damage from dragon breaks and they were invisible. I'm not sure where I got this info from but it's been mine and others knowledge for a while I think I originally heard this from fudgemuppet
There are several I would put in different categories. I would assume anything he saids that is an option to be true, but many you put in two. Maiq thinks/believes x,y,z. I would assume that to be true. Not in-between. Technically he could be lying, but there's no reason to doubt him on it. His father and his father's father are named Maiq. That is most likely true as well.
The slaughterfish reference is based on, in ESO, if you swim to far out, the game causes them to attack and kill you. If you attempt to swim into an area you are not, suppose, to be in it will do same. So, technically, he is telling the truth. Wanting a good Fable is an inside joke from Bethesda who were referencing the game FABLE. Remember, when FABLE came out it had promised abilities and actions that were never put in game. He is also correct about Dwemer and the Snow Elves, in game you can learn that what Snow Elves became attacked the Dwemer, but before they could reach them, Dwemer disappeared. So, they didnt cause them to disappear and we learn why they became blind. So, this is truth based on the game's lore. And him wishing you well, is spot on as he likely does care for your well-being. I have always thought that he is really a God, and like some of the others, he wishes to help but doesnt want it to be easy for you. And we get this hint because he says he may never have had a childhood. Now, most assume it means he simply appeared in Morrowind without a background, but it could also suggest he is some high being that wanders around.
but in the end, the stormcloaks always lose. Tullius was but one general and his army was mostly local conscripts with some veteran captains. Ulfric took every resource to win and would be destined to lose when the Empire sends it's actual legions.
Honestly M'aiq disproves that the devs of the game he is in don't care about the fans, the game or the lore... Because he is pretty much a fun nearly forth wall breaking nod to the fans... Showing that the devs know of every contraverals choice they made in the design of all the games he is in... Like the Skyrim llines are extremely well thought out given the fact that the game did not come out yet and those the fans had no idea of a tenth of these contraverses... Which apthatic devs would never do this and are more likely to just argue with fans then address their concerns if they even communicate at all. Which M'aig is an extremely well done way of addressing fans concerns ingame in a fun and unique way.
No it's worse he just highly opionated... Which to be fair to him he does know a ton of stuff about the regions he travels to more then the host of this video even... It's just it's all stuff the resdents of that region really don't want to know so they call him a lair... Also the fact he is highly opionated does not help.
The dragons are everywhere and not visible, they are burried in the mounds all over skyrim.
"M'aiq has a cousin who does not use weapons, only his fists. He is called M'aiq Tyson."
He’s not wrong about dragons on the ground being invisible, they are in burial mounds waiting Alduin’s return.
The Gods often travel under the guise of a simple wanderer

Excellent *objective* analysis of M'aiq The Liar. Would recommend.

Calling M’aiq a liar is supposed to be ironic, I never thought he was spouting lies like some politicians for example.
About the ropes is a joke about inability (By Bethesda, fans did this anyways) to add animations for climbing ropes or ladders. Pretty much same thing happens in Team Fortress 2, where ladders are actually just a 80°~ degree angled surface you run onto to "climb".

12:04 Wanting a fable may be a reference to Fable 1, released before Oblivion. I'd call it a continuation of his meta humor.
At this point, we need to assume the possibility he is a dimension hopping god 😂
M'aiq The SLANDERED
M'aiq tells no Lies. Just truths many confuse as lies. M'aiq wishes to know why they don't understand, no?

I'm pretty sure the comment about liking a good fable but never having found one was a dig at the Fable series.

At 25:24 I always thought that it was a reference to Mother Goose and "The three little kittens, they lost their mittens"
Exactly my thought.

are all the things in his first statement available as alchemy ingredients? if so, it would be funny if they combined to make a health poison
Sadly, no. A mod may have something like them
With the M'aiq believing children are our future one, I automatically expected a Whitney Houston reference.
i mean, the dragons near the ground were invisible given they were buried under it...

Oop, found a new channel to binge watch lololol
I think M’alik is a nod to Noland the Liar from One Piece.
Sure he’s called a liar but he tells more truth than people think.
maiq was introduced in morrowind (2002) a year before nolands debut in one piece (2003). similar characters but definitely not related
#35, "M'aiq wishes you well." Miscategorized as column 1 when it is clearly a column 3.

Funny cat go brrrrt
In my recent playthru, Maiq have a different clothing. He still in robes but diff and without the yellow hood scarf

Rough start
I'd argue that the quotes in category three technically belong in category two.

15:40 whoever wins the war tells the story

alas... this was a game from 11/11/11 and the devs certainly don't care, anymore.
Great video
Mike isn't a liar, he's just a foreigner.
