@ConstellationsGaming It's the same in Oblivion, last time I played that I found like 6 locations I didn't know existed. Granted they were small and fairly unnoticeable unless you look hard.. I often install mods as well and don't realize they add new locations and curiosities.. But as for vanilla Skyrim and Oblivion I'm not sure if we'll ever not find something new even if we're brushing it with a fine comb lol The same could honestly go for Fallout as well.. Bethesda may create some buggy and glitchy games, but at least they're usually massive and offer a ridiculous amount of exploration.
Go to Dark Water Crossing and listen to the dialog there, and you will hear about Derkeethus. It is a hidden quest, or at least it was before. With no quest marker to guide you to Derkeethus’ location.
Angi’ cabin is actually something I discovered very early on in my first play through back in 2012 so her cabin has been something I’ve always returned to in subsequent games, so I never thought of it as hidden before. I discovered the abandoned prison and the chill for the first time in my current playthrough a few months ago. A definite surprise.
Over the years I've noticed that a ton of what I did in this game without really thinking much about it was rare or at least uncommon. Finding her cabin is one of them. I found it because exploring the map is what you do in RPGs. Other things were stuff like actually running along the roads alongside NPCs as they go somewhere, e.g. Delphine on your way to kill a dragon with her. Or intentionally avoiding fast travel for the sake of exploration. Even talking to everyone, a staple of RPGs, seems to be something that a lot of people just didn't do. Its like 15% of people played the game in a way not too differently than I did, with another 10% being just a little bit further removed. Then the other 75% do it in a way that feels completely alien to me. This was the first of the Elder Scrolls games I played for more than a couple of hours but I've been playing RPGs since Dragon Warrior was new. A lot of the fans of this game are like me with the former, but not so much the latter (I was already in my 30s when Skyrim came out, people my age who also like TES games are more likely to have started with Oblivion, Morrowind or even Daggerfall). So I chalk up the difference in playstyle due to so many of Skyrim's fans not having a lot of RPG experience. Coming from fighting, action or fps games would really explain a lot.
4:20 to be specific there are 3 Great Lifts to Blackreach. They are Mzinchaleft, Alftand (located North and Southwest of Winterhold), and Ralbthar (Southwest of Windhelm) which is located close to their respective Dwarven Ruins
The Forgotten Names quest is one of those fixed by the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (USSEP). There are many other bugs fixed by this patch such as Saadia visiting the shrine of Talos everyday between 1 and 3 PM (a script conflict with her serving script and her Talos script). One lore aspect people forget is that Dremora aren’t actually killed here on Nirn but sent back to their respective realms. They can then actually return to Nirn. Killing of the Dremora Pirate gives you a Daedra heart, not much of an award and you can’t bring back the apprentices. His award is actually great in monetary value plus he isn’t an enemy to you.
Nice video, like the list. A couple you (understandably) missed that I know of: • Ironbind Barrow, just NW of Nightgate Inn • Old Hroldan Inn, in the Reach • Creating Erik the Slayer in Rorikstead • Roggi Knotbeard's stuff in Kynesgrove Actually, every sidekick who has a quest (Roggi is just my Goldenhills Plantation Steward of choice) as well as every small town has some kind of quest in 'em that doesn't stay in the journal... yet registers in the journal while active.
I'd seen all of these, but it never occurred to me to try bringing a reanimated drauger into Blackreach to summon Vulthuryol, so I did learn something. Also, @20:00 - you might want to warn folks who discover the exit of The Chill that the frost atronachs will spawn when they exit The Chill, if they have entered the open area inside it containing the cages. This happens whether or not the player has been arrested by Winterhold guards.
