AndyReacts My favorite Styx song is Blue Collar Man. That being said.., my go to song is More Than a Feeling by Boston. The vocal range of Brian Delp is amazing! There are many hilarious videos on RUclips of people trying to hit that one note. Check it out. If you want guitar and old school...try some Ted Nugent. Wango Tango is my favorite of his or Cat Scratch Fever. It’s what made my brother pick up a guitar.
Please react to some INXS. some suggestions are "Devil Inside', Original sin' and "never year us apart' and there live show at Wembley. Thank you. And keep up the good work.
What Styx is renown for is their longer haunting "Epic" pieces that feel as if they are composed rather than written. It seemed they tried to fit one on each album. I would suggest Suite Madame Blue, Man Of Miracles, Come Sail Away, and Little Fugue in G/Father O.S.A. to name a few. One note on the guitarist there are two who work so well together and are equally gifted that they are mistaken for one. You guys rock!

Styx founder Chuck Panozzo comes to my small city in Ontario, Canada, every year and presents an award in his name to local youth who are making a difference in their community. Met him a few times and he is a genuine class act.
Love love LOVE this song! I’ve seen Styx in concert several times and this is their encore song, and the CROWD GOES FUCKING WILD. Tommy Shaw is legendary on this song. Alex, great choice. 👍👍👍
Great choice, Alex! Renegade is one of my favorite Styx tracks as well. This was when Styx was at their pinnacle, selling out stadiums and pumping out amazing rock anthems like this.
Saw Styx live twice way back when LOL, what a show they put on, you could feel the seats shaking under your butts, if you were sitting down. Great! Great!
One group I don't see anyone reacting to is Chicago. These were master musicians with multiple songwriters and vocalists along with an incredible horn section. They had a lot of hits back in the '70s. Song suggestions: 25 or 6 to 4, Wishing You Were Here, Beginnings, Feelin' Stronger Every Day, I'm a Man, Make Me Smile.
Nice introduction choice, Alex! Styx is one of those bands (from down Chicago way) that helped save, if not maintain America's rock status in the late 70's as British bands dominated the field and pretty much had their way with us. Vocalist-guitarist Tommy Shaw has always struck me as an underrated guitarist. Dennis DeYoung, the other lead vocalist who sang on most of their most popular tunes, recently had a concert on Public Television with a young supporting band that sounded identical to the original Styx lineup. It was amazing. Another tangled history here between the two principles that pretty much destroyed the band. Suffice to say that DeYoung wanted to go in a more balad oriented/conceptual direction while Shaw wanted to rock out. DeYoung won that battle as he was also the primary lyricist. Many of the DeYoung led Styx ballads are featured prominently on easy listening radio stations to this day. And they're not bad. Some you might say are even iconic ("Lady"). It's just a matter of taste. Styx Suggestion: 'Too Much Time on my Hands' and 'Suite Madam Blue' .
I saw Styx 20 something years ago. The crowd was looking at each other and laughing our asses off. Most of us had been at the Styx concert 20 something years before that, but then we had giant beards, long hair, and funny clothes. We had all turned into respectable citizens. LOL Now the ones that are still alive are in our late 60s early 70s, but we are still rocking.
It's why rock is dead: it became the square music people's dads listen to. Hip-hop was the rebellions music for a while, until it became profitable and corporate labels got ahold of it. Now there's no rebellious youth muric, at least that I'm aware of. It's all corporate bullshit. Most kids I know who year for that stuff are turning to older rock/hip-hop acts. To quote Steven Wilson from "Sound of Muzack": Music of rebellion makes you want to rage but it's made by millionaires who are nearly twice your age.
Great reaction. Styx has many great songs. Years after they broke up Tom Shaw (guitarist/singer on this song) joined Damn Yankees (Jack Blades on bass from Night Ranger & Ted Nugent on guitar also) they covered this song live. I personally love the cover. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/GK-dCIiVkVc/видео.html
Didn't realize you guys are in Florida. I went to FIT in Melbourne back in the early to mid-80's. I remember seeing U2 on the Unforgettable Fire tour 4 times in a week all over Florida in 1985 including a general admission gig at UCF in Tampa. Met Bono twice after these gigs. The gates opened and it was a sprint to get seats as close to the stage as you could! Another Styx classic is Come Sail Away. Starts as a ballad and turns into a rocker. I'm 53 now but I'm very much enjoying watching you young ones getting into the music of my generation!
Yes, I don't wish to embarrass him here, but his decent personality shines through on these vids. His partner (assuming he has one of course) is a lucky girl (or guy - let's not be discriminatory here)!
Yup, Andy is cute, but Alex is hotter than hell with that beautiful long hair, and Alex has that bad boy personality that I love just like my 2nd hubby did. I'd take him on in a heartbeat, and I'm 69 yo!
It's Styx "Roundabout" is how I remembered it as a kid. They were both my favorite bangers for a long time until a flood of great music like "Freebird" "Stairway to Heaven" "Hotel California" etc. It was a glorious time.
I am 53 and I grew up listening to Styx and many other great bands. The music of my day wipes out anything they play currently. I feel so lucky to have grown up with such great music.
Saw Styx twice in the 70’s, one of the best live bands for sure, Journey also excellent. Another great rockin song of theirs is Miss America, you’ll like the guitar on it. Keep it up boys, great music you are playing.
If you ever get the chance they still sound great live. I've seen them 4x and am only 24yrs old. Their drummer Todd Suchermann is one of my favorites his talent and skill is pretty much unmatched.
I'm sure everyone will likely suggest Come Sail Away and I agree ...I'd also suggest You're Fooling Yourself from The Grand Illusion Album or the title track too. Now that I think of it, it might be cool to do all three from that album in one big video. Grand Illusion 1st, then Fooling Yourself, then Come Sail Away. For some reason it has to be that order.
You should listen to their entire discography, they have so many amazing songs. Same with Toto and ELO. Please see Styx if you get the chance to, they're amazing live.
I remember the day I first heard this tune. Beautiful Summer Day at the local hangout (park) where we all would play frisbee, get high, and listen to killer tunes in the sunshine in Michigan. I was in my early/mid teens. Thinking it was 77 or 78 when this came out if my mammory serves me correctly. Yes I said Mammory. lol
Dennis DeYoung is a terribly underrated singer - he's got some serious pipes if you listen to a lot of their big hits. So aside from Renegade, check out: Come Sail Away, Too Much Time On My Hands, Grand Illusion, Blue Collar Man, Fooling Yourself, Babe, and Mr. Roboto. Loving the reactions, keep 'em coming - and remember Seven Seas of Rhye and Princes of the Universe whenever you're on Queen 😅
Third Styx concert. During snowstorm and drove 125 miles. Only about 2000 folks got through the snow. They played for around 4 hours. Roads were all closed so no one could go anywhere. They just jammed every hour or so until early morning.

Here is another example of TRAILBLAZERS FROM THE 70;S My personal Favorite STYX recording has to be the (Grand Illusion ) record which of course had their number one hit (Come Sail Away) and a ton of other hidden gems on it . I saw Styx Live at the Blossom music center in 1977...with Their opening act Linda Ronstadt. Those were the days
I remember thinking Too Much Time on My Hands was the coolest song ever in the seventh grade when it was on the radio. Styx definitely has better tracks, but that one always stuck with me.
First time I even hear about this band. Quite a catchy song I must say! Sounds like a combination of pop and rock. Sounds from the 80's. Nice reaction! So here's another band you don't know, but it's Rock'n'roll, and great one: The Warning. Start with "survive" at TedX. I'll tell you then what's the next song of this new generation of rock.
In 1979 I was only 12 years old and went out and bought my very first record to play at home on my brand new record player I got for Christmas. This song had just came out and I could not get it out of my head so it was the very first single "45" I ever bought and I literally played it so much it warped!! Great job, great review as always keep them coming!!
Tommy Shaw never got his due as a guitarist because of DeYoung. Check out Damn Yankees, High Enough. Its Ted Nugent, Tommy Shaw and the lead singer from Night Ranger (sorry, I can’t recall his name)....one of the best ballads ever.
Tlbuddner, I believe you are thinking of James Young on guitar. Dennis DeYoung was keyboards and vocals. And yes, Dennis DeYoung did overshadow people in the band (he did form it with the Panozzo brothers). The lead singer from Night Ranger is Jack Blades.
Nope...I was slamming DeYoung all the way...he wanted to suppress Shaw’s solo’s in the Kilroy era because DeYoung was trying for theatrics...actually, he was trying to compete with The Wall. Yes, lost his mind and took everyone with him.
@@TexasMagnolia , okay. Thanks for the clarification. Yeah I agree on your point. DeYoung was on a power trip at that time and it killed the band until he was pushed out.

Love watching you guys! I had Styx and Kansas on my nightly 8-track routine in my youth. Slept to all of their albums until they wore out. Thy still speak to me. I'm still a renegade who is a man in the wilderness. I have been to five Styx concerts. They rock like you would not believe.
Tommy Shaw is just a flat out god
Styx founder Chuck Panozzo comes to my small city in Ontario, Canada, every year and presents an award in his name to local youth who are making a difference in their community. Met him a few times and he is a genuine class act.
STYX has a lot of great songs albums and songs. Seen them 8 times in concert, lots of energy.
It’s a banger
Saw them live back in their heyday, and by far in the top 5 best concerts I have ever seen. And I've seen some of the Best!
DUDES ...YOU MUST PLAY CASTLE WALLS ..OR SUITE MADAME BLUE .(live)
Castle Walls,...nothing else like it....
Styx was the first concert I attended. Saw them again in '80, front row. Excellent show!
To quote Steven Wilson from "Sound of Muzack":
Music of rebellion makes you want to rage
but it's made by millionaires who are nearly twice your age.
Great reaction. Styx has many great songs. Years after they broke up Tom Shaw (guitarist/singer on this song) joined Damn Yankees (Jack Blades on bass from Night Ranger & Ted Nugent on guitar also) they covered this song live. I personally love the cover. Here is the link:

Didn't realize you guys are in Florida. I went to FIT in Melbourne back in the early to mid-80's. I remember seeing U2 on the Unforgettable Fire tour 4 times in a week all over Florida in 1985 including a general admission gig at UCF in Tampa. Met Bono twice after these gigs. The gates opened and it was a sprint to get seats as close to the stage as you could! Another Styx classic is Come Sail Away. Starts as a ballad and turns into a rocker. I'm 53 now but I'm very much enjoying watching you young ones getting into the music of my generation!
Styx is so fun!! Great job Alex!!!
Lolli Nelson why thank you 😏
Such a powerful song....thank you!
Pat Donnelly always 🙏🏼
Thin Lizzy "Cowboy song" and "Boys are back in town" from their live in Sydney concert.
Yes Thin Lizzy!
Thin Lizzy deserves more respect.
Yes PLEASE DO THIN LIZZY!!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Got to check our REO Speedwagon and Foreigner guys.
Alex isn't just extremely handsome, he also has a great taste in music. Love you A ☺❤
Yes, I don't wish to embarrass him here, but his decent personality shines through on these vids.
@@janetconner2960 I think we should all vote on getting Andy a new hairstyle.
@@lizar5341 I wouldn't even know where to start, Andy has that good boy look, but changing it would/could make him a bad boy too, just like Alex.
It's Styx "Roundabout" is how I remembered it as a kid. They were both my favorite bangers for a long time until a flood of great music like "Freebird" "Stairway to Heaven" "Hotel California" etc.
It was a glorious time.
Beside checking out more Styx, I would recommend that you listen to some REO Speedwagon!
This.
Yes! Roll with the Changes
Blue-Collar Man is another Styx banger. Check it out.
wow nice song shoutout to Alex for introducing me to Styx
kloteyoshi1 no problem man! That’s the point of these music share Monday’s, not only showing Andy, but showing the community cool songs
Probably one of my all time favorite Styx songs.
You should listen to their entire discography, they have so many amazing songs. Same with Toto and ELO. Please see Styx if you get the chance to, they're amazing live.
I'm just watching this. You two have grown so much in 4 years. I love this song. My favorite by Styx.
Thanks guys. First concert I ever went to was Styx at ruth eckerd hall.
Maybe check out Crystal Ball next.
Ruth Eckerd Hall . . . man that sounds familiar. Had to look it up. It's just down the road from me!
+ 1 for Crystal Ball!
Yes I said Mammory. lol
"Crystal Ball" blows this song away. Not that "Renegade" is a bad song.
Styx was a favorite. I am 59 and this song takes me back to really good times.
Just fount your videos on my recommend and I just loved them exceptionally the Queen ones and I’m glad to see you uploading
@Karson Gaming
Thanks!! 😁
I'm literally the biggest Styx fan who's a kid-YES!!!!!! I LOVE THIS SO FREAKING MUCH!!! KUDOS TO YOU!!!!!
Right on! I can always count on you to do different, cool as hell music. Love this song. Great video guys. 😘💕
Queen Of Spades......best deep cut in Styx’s entire catalogue.
I'm 50 years old, and my Dad brought to see Styx many times in the 70's & 80's. Love to see the younger generation discover great music like this!
This band used to get joked about a lot but they were damn good
Third Styx concert. During snowstorm and drove 125 miles. Only about 2000 folks got through the snow. They played for around 4 hours. Roads were all closed so no one could go anywhere. They just jammed every hour or so until early morning.
I suggest Triumph Lay it on the line.
Triumph - Hold On
One of my favorite Triumph songs is Time Goes By. I always repeat it at least 10 times when it comes up on my phone.
Remember first hearing this at the end of the shifter episode of supernatural in the bank 🔥🔥🔥.
This song and Carry on my wayward son always remind me of Supernatural
Great pick once again. Intro to Come Sail away. Another “go to”
You guys are the coolest, I love seeing guys much younger than me listening to the greatest arena band ever.
Next Styx song that will blow you away, from the same album as Renegade, (Pieces of Eight) is "QUEEN OF SPADES" Will rock your face!
Great intro to this Styx track I haven't heard them for ages so well done Alex for reminding us all how good they are.
Fantastic choice yet again 10/10
I'm hoping you get round to one of my fav band THIN LIZZY WAITING FOR AN ALIBI.
Stay lucky stay safe Mike UK.
Mike Embleton haven’t ever listened to them but ive heard they were amazing
@@alexfromandyandalex8032 yes Alex they were awesome there Live and Dangerous was voted the best live album in the UK.
But it's best to start with there studio stuff first other songs is Jailbreak, The Boys Are Back In Town, Romeo and the Lonely Girl,
Sarah was number1 in the UK.
And of course Black Rose, WAITING FOR AN ALIBI.
And Still In Love with You live version is better.
Check Thin Lizzy out there were awesome Alex.
Stay lucky stay safe Mike UK
Hi Alex I forgot to mention a couple of more songs.
Don't Believe A Word, Warriors, Massacre, Emerald.
Classic THIN LIZZY.
Stay lucky stay safe Mike UK.
Their music is like 'fine wine' it only gets better I've been listening since the late 70s and still love these tunes. You should hear them live just as tight.
Love Styx. You should also listen to Man in the Wilderness and Come Sail Away
Great song, great reaction! I was always partial to "Boat on the River", another Tommy Shaw song :) Peace!
"Snowblind". A great power tune from Styx. You will love it.
I remember thinking Too Much Time on My Hands was the coolest song ever in the seventh grade when it was on the radio. Styx definitely has better tracks, but that one always stuck with me.
10/10. I saw Styx in concert on their Kilroy was here tour. BLEW ME AWAY!!!
Ha, I was waiting for your expression at 4:33 !
My very 1st live concert was Styx, Foghat, and HeadEast in 1976! We were rockin'!!!
First time I even hear about this band. Quite a catchy song I must say! Sounds like a combination of pop and rock. Sounds from the 80's.
Nice reaction!
So here's another band you don't know, but it's Rock'n'roll, and great one:
The Warning.
Saw them three times back in the day! Absolutely fantastic!
Gotta go with The Grand Illusion. The song and the album. So great!
I saw Styx live at Madison Square Garden in 1978. I was 12, it was my first concert, I bought my first concert jersey, and it was awesome. It was really loud. My hearing was muffled for a few days. Good times.
