08:32 The Making of this Video - Видеоклипы
💬 I wanted to do Too Much Time on My Hands, but there aren’t quite enough studio version reactions out there yet. But there are plenty of Styx classics to cover.
“The Making of” is back! I hope you all enjoy this one!
I’m feeling the strong urge to do a song I’ve been purposely holding off on because Derek has already done such an amazing video on it. But it’s been over two years since his came out and there are a ton of new reactions to it. There’s no way I’m going to be able to keep this one under wraps and will probably go live very soon!
Onto the next! 💜 (GO STEELERS! 😅)
Ooooohh I wonder what song it could be... any hints like decade it came out, or genre, or male or female artist.
I know it’s not video material, but I wonder if you’ve seen the video where Tommy Shaw teamed up with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra. I really enjoyed their performance if ‘Foolin’ Yourself/Angry Young Man’. Something about seeing young people getting to appreciate this music just makes me happy. It’s one of the main reasons I love your videos and got into reaction videos-seeing people enjoy songs and artists I love just brings joy. I think the other reason is that watching other people hear the music I grew up listening to brings back some of the feelings I had when I first heard it. Love what you do WMOG! ❤❤❤
"The Making of"! Yesss!
So glad you're back on track after your technical difficulties!!
Take my word for it. Brooks is nearly irrelevant now. Do whatever you like. You can only improve it. Facts are facts. P.S. Glad you're back in business.
I had some 13 yrs old GRANDSONS in my car and you should have seen their faces when their grandma knew every word of the song.
Rock on.
Very same here too. 5 grandsons and all shocked 🤣
I’m 60 and let me tell you the 70’s/80’s had some really realllllllyyyy good music.
I love watching these “reactors” when their eyebrows go WAAY UP at “the drop”… and when I think about hearing this music as a teenager… I/we, who grew up in these times were SOO blessed… 🙏🏻👏👏👏
FACTS!!!!!!!!
Styx played at the Montreal Forum a lot in my late teens. The memory of this "drop" on 18k+ maniacal fans still gives me goosebumps after more than 4 decades. TYVM!
It's criminal that Styx isnt in the rock hall of fame.
I agree.
I personally don't take the R&RHOF seriously anymore.
It's stupid is what it is.
I love seeing the expressions on this song from young people. We just took it for granted because the late 60's through the 80's put out the best music. ❤ it's great to see the older classic music being recognized as this type of music doesn't exist anymore.
As an 80s kid, the fact that Black people are now listening to Styx is mind blowing!
This song is played at every Pittsburgh Steelers game. Terrible Towels are flying and the stadium goes wild. Yes, I am from Pittsburgh!❤😂🎉
GO STEELERS. I wasn't born here but my entire dad's side of the family is from here and I've lived here since 2008. I've moved around quite a bit in my life and this is one of my favorite places that I've lived.
Styx is a staple in 80’s rock n roll. REO Speedwagon, Triumph, Bad Company, AC/DC, Rush, Ozzy, Scorpions, Pink Floyd and even the Eagles are great bands of that era that just bring back wonderful memories of life back then and how much I appreciate growing up in that time.
Take out the Eagles and replace it with Ted Nugent or Van Halen.😊
Where I grew up STYX was a big band in the seventies!
70s
38 special, UFO, so many to count.
Styx has some of the greatest vocals ever
That DROP is quite possibly my favorite of all that I have ever heard.
The 1970s was so RICH with GREAT music and bands bringing it.
Thanks for your work on these videos!
✌️💪🙏
Haven’t heard this song in forever. Takes me back to the late 70’s, everyone hanging out at the only restaurant in town. Muscle cars, pinball and the jukebox blasting great tunes like this. Ty WMOG ❤
I just absolutely live seeing younger people loving this music!! ❤
Styx is still touring, although Dennis isn't part of it, they still rock!
I remember this coming on the radio when I was a kid and asking my father so many questions: "what's a hangman?" "what are gallows?" "What is this song about??" lol
So you know I'm a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and this song is a big for someone like me. This is played all the time in our stadium. And of course Styx is legendary.
I didn't realize you were from Western Pa. I'm not from here originally but have been coming here all my life. Dad's family is from Pittsburgh. I moved up here to take care of him in 2008. GO STEELERS!
@@WonderMommaOG Oh no I was actually born in Williamsport, PA. I've followed the Steelers all of my life however. I actually grew up in Northern Virginia and right now I'm living in Alaska.
If you're a Steelers fan you know Renegade!
Definitely! Was wondering if anyone would mention that
Styx pre-Mr. Roboto was on everybody’s top 5-8 rock bands of our generation. Dennis DeYoung reunionwd the band with that Mr Roboto album. Crystal ball is a true rock ballad.
Dennis has an amazing voice and the acapella beginning and then the scream that starts it all. It's a great song.
My favourite Styx song by miles.. Blue Collar Man... Too much time on my hands... and Suite Madame Blue are amazing songs also.
Love the work you put into all of this @WonderMommaOG .
Your son here showing love💙💙💙love you mama
Hi Son! 😅 Love you back, thanks for stopping by!
EXCELLENT choice of songs!! I've been a huge Styx fan for a long time! I like all of their stuff, but I've always had a preference for the Tommy Shaw tunes. And now that Foreigner has finally been inducted into the HOF, I think Styx should be next!
Styx are an best unrated band from the 70's. So many great hits over the years. Saw them last about 7 yrs ago when my son was 15. That's when I started taking him to concerts, which we all enjoyed, the whole family. The last concert we went to was Rammstein in Philly.
Thanks Momma, brings back when they played this on radio, MTV, skating in my teen years, oh yeah!!!!
@WonderMommaOG, you do wonderful work! Very talented, and I totally appreciate it, and you! Thank you for these labors of love.
This was cool, can't go wrong with STYX except for Mr. Roboto..😂😂JK, I liked their reactions after the scream. Nobody expected a drop like that!!!😂😂😂
Hi Mom,
I have discovered another facet of reactions.
That is when reactors with a hip hop foundation hear the song that was sampled by Tupac, et al. They go crazy hearing the whole song that they know 7 seconds of. They flip out.
Here are 2 examples:
1.Bruce Hornsby and the Ranges "thats the way it is", was practically covered by Tupac.
2. Kid Charligmain by Steely Dan, start checking the air play guys, they flip. AND the song is everything you need.
This is the Pittsburgh Steelers fight song. It's played at Acrisure Stadium between the 3rd and 4th quarters and the crowd goes crazy.
When you start to relax and think this song is winding down, JY and Tommy say "wait, we're not done with you yet."
When I was in elementary school the PTA would give a cash prize to the class that had the most parents show up and we always won it and our teacher let us buy records with the money and this is one we bought.
One of the greatest groups ever. They took their name from a river in Hell called STYX. They are a band out of Chicago. They were and awesome group and this was one of their best songs. Great post.
Toss a coin to Charon the Ferryman.
And while you’re at it, Kyrie Eleison down the road that you must travel. 👏👏
Love it WonderMomma! Styx is an amazing band! Great seeing the younger generation digging it too.
"Paradise Theater" and "Pieces of Eight" were album's they put out and every song on both were bangers. Good stuff...
This came out when i was about 14, and as it got bigger and more popular, you could hear it about every 20-30 minutes on the radio. They played the 💩 out of it.
Tommy Shaw, the greatest rocker from Alabama that was actually born and raised in Alabama.
I saw the Pieces of Eight tour, early September, 1978, Exhibition Stadium, Toronto. The crowd went fucking wild when they started the intro, and the drop was so loud it almost pushed you back. Amazing.
Steelers fan from Texas. will always be one of my fav songs
YAY!!! ahaha Weeeeeee Freakin **Perfection** OMG Ha **The Drop** just ALL of it **Luvit** Fabulous!!! **PixieHugz&LuvzALL**
When the song came out my brother was listening to it on our stereo with his friends. He wasn't supposed to be because my dad was a Baptist Minister and we didn't listen to this music. Anyways lightning struck right when they were listening to it lol. Funny enough I'm watching this during a thunderstorm
Every time a new album was released we ran or some camped out over night, to buy as many as we could afford, (pooling money) high school jobs, some of us. It was like Christmas, all year long!!! I see that same delight and excitement on these reactors!!! What a fabulous walk down memory lane!!! Gotta love STYX!!!! 🇺🇸 💟 🎸🥁🎹🎤 🤙 Thanks again for your super hard work young lady!! RESPECT!!!
You did it again WonderMommaOG! My favorite Styx song!!! Renegade!! Tommy is great and when he wrote it he said it "just came out" most common interruption that I have heard all my life is the one is that it’s about a man who is fighting against a corrupt system. The song’s protagonist is a fugitive on the run for a crime he didn’t commit, and now he’s being hunted by the law., but at the same time enclosed is letter to his mama! Oh Mama, I'm in fear for my life from the long arm of the law Lawman has put an end to my running, and I'm so far from my home...Oh Mama, I can hear you a-cryin', you're so scared and all alone"
I swear we are related somewhere a long the line! either that or you are in my musical head and life journey!! THANK YOU!!!
Hi there... you know, I recently met another person in comments who seems to share a similar musical journey. Perhaps we're triplets. 😅
@@WonderMommaOG I love it!!! ❤
Styx and Cheap Trick refused to be type cast into one type of song. Love it. I wonder how many people reacted to Mr Roboto?
I don't know but that song is mandatory for me. 😅 I don't care what anyone says or what anyone thinks, that song is legendary. I love it so, so much and not ashamed of it. 🤣
Excellent compilation, as always, & it reminded me that 40yrs on, I still don’t like Styx . But I absolutely respect their talent, & place in music:)
I saw them in the 80s and it was amazing to experience live.
Yeah, I had tickets to a styx concert in 81 or 82 but said eff it, I am not going. My friends said it was awesome. I did not care at the time, but think I now think maybe that was not the right choice.
Other great Styx tunes that exemplify their musical range are:
Suite Madame Blue
The Best of Times
Give them a listen. You won't be disappointed
THANK YOU!! THAT WAS AMAZING!! INCREDIBLE JOB!! 😊💓🔥🤘✌️
I saw styx live in like 2018 and they were still absolutely killing it!
You've also got two of my favorite reactors in this mashup with Rob Squad and Jamel AKA Jamal.
Great choice! Styx rocks and so do you Momma!
I love that you pick so many great classics to use. Such a great song.
I was a teenager when they came out. My friends and I would sneak into the Hammond Civic center to watch them practice when they would rent it out. Great times
Nice! Glad to see you back again!
Thank you.... Yuh done good!
Outstanding job, Momma!! I wish more people would appreciate Tommy Shaw, Dennis DeYoung and Styx!! "Crystal Ball" , "Fooling Yourself" and "The Grand Illusion" are songs in the soundtrack of my life!! LETS GO!!!!
This song is, of course, a *must* for reactors I think. I felt like about half of the reactions were sincere.
One of my favorite bands of the late 70's, early 80's. I saw them live in 1981 at the Québec city Colisée (Paradise Theater Tour). Memorable performance. Thanks for this compilation. Renegade is one of my top five Styx songs. Just below Suite Madame Blue and Crystal Ball (my #1 Styx song). Thanks also for including the "making of". Can't wait for your next video (and live stream).
Ha, this was a fun one. Thank you.
If you need more requests: Queensryche and their song Take Hold of the Flame live in 1984. Heck you could just focus on the vocal coaches, but so many minds blown by Geoff Tate’s voice at that time. 🎉
Thank you for another banger everyone reacts!
It’s so crazy that this great band Styx was booed off the stage in my hometown of Columbus Mississippi in the early 70s so that White Witch could perform.
Great song and reactions. Gonna see these guys in a month. 💥💥💥👍🤪
Love Darryl's House!!!!😎
Great band. So many memories ❤❤❤❤
OK, I'm officially in love with Brain Squeeze and his reactions ❤😂
His "Led Zeppy" reactions are amazing. YOu should check them out if you haven't already!
I was a sophomore in HS, man we had really good music back then.
omg, I can’t believe I forgot about this song. haha that scream in the beginning is such a classic way to get the track rocking.
Hi there! Hope you've been well! Got a video coming soon?
Can't stop da funk. Monster of a song.
You've outdone yourself again, Momma.
Another awesome video Mamma! Thanks!
Great Job on the editing as always! You and I certainly have similar musical tastes and Renegade was solid Styx choice. Keep 'em comin'!
Hi Joel! Thank you... there is so much more great music to cover lol it's quite overwhelming.
Never heard this track before, loved it! Thanks WonderMomma👍💓
Styx is my favorite High-school group, grand illusion is my go to song ? I really like what you do! Keep them coming, and thanks. 😊
In that pic of the band in the thumbnail and the beginning of the video, Tommy Shaw is obviously standing on an apple crate.
Miiiinddblowing...Another great video😊
Excellent as always. Bravo 👏
Nice choice! Blue Collar Man is also great!
Love Styx!! My favorite in the 80s. Saw them last year live...still Awesome!!
Great video! Thank you Momma og!🔥🤘✌🎶
WonderMomma is on a tear lately! Another all-time banger!
I first heard this song alllllllllll the way back in the mid 80s at my hometown’s little bitty roller rink I think I was like 10 and I remember singing along as I tried to not to fall and make my ass look as clumsy as I was back then. Love me some Styx! Always a pleasure OG!
Thanks again for another wonderful comp
Tommy Shaw here on vocals also was in Damn Yankees👍
My absolute favorite song from Styx. Thanks for this!
Momma, THIS compilation. I was hoping you'd make one for "Renegade," and I am not disappointed.
Hey grl Hey, I absolutely love watching everyones face when the transitions happen. Amazing band and song. Thanx so much, stay groovy, Peace
Yes momma! ☘️💪
Much better idea than Too Much Time! great song and awesome reaction video! Love how you put the links to the channels you use! can't wait for the next video!
Once in a great while, it's good to be old. Luv ya mean it
Great pick, and fabulous compilation.
Kick ass song.
you should do a compilation of the Jinger Pisces live studio version reactions, they are always over the top
A great song! Thanks for this compilation! Too much time on my hands is also a great song. Hopefully more reactors review this song.
By the way, great to see “The Making of” back on 😊
Great song choice ❤
I love it 😊
amazing song
Summertime in high-school.
STYX got soft w the bubblegum after a while.
Their live shows are bangers though
Watch the Pittsburgh Steelers 4th quarter TV timeout. This is the song they play and our crowd goes nuts
Everyone dancin!
Ok, now you've done it, this one hits hard, grew with them and now a guy I know from High School is their drummer Todd Sucherman, it is truly a small world..I'm gonna shoot him the link..
So clean. I love your edits.
Keep Rocking It! Guitar Gods never fade away! 🎸 🎸 🎸
I got "detained " at the gate for this concert and heard this song from a holding cell! I was 16! (it was just a misunderstanding officer.)
Super nice mashups Momma! Thanks.
Oi Momma. Tudo bem? A seleção continua nota 10. Estamos juntos! 🇺🇸🤜🤛🇧🇷😃
Everything is good. Thank you for asking. Hope you are well too!
