  • NEW TITLEIST TSi3 DRIVER REVIEW... GREAT!!! BUT NOT PERFECT? Today sees the release of the band new Titleist TSi3 and Titleist TSi2 Drivers...In this video I test the Titleist TSI3 Driver... is it the best driver of 2020? the longest driver of 2020? which driver should you buy in 2020? you've seen Rick Shiels review, Ali Taylor's review, Mark Crossfield's review and even Peter Finch's review... now ill tell you my honest thoughts on the new Titleist drivers... how does the new Titleist driver compare to the Taylormade Sim driver? the Taylormade Sim vs Titleist TSI3 video will be coming next week, I'm pretty excited about that as I've been fitted for both drivers... should you get fitted for a new driver? driver fittings are popular as ever now... let's do it... and let's do it now!

    Great video!
I really enjoyed your review of the TSI3! The idea that this is the best looking and best sounding driver Titleist has ever released is very exciting to me! A equate sound to feel, so I have to assume that this driver feels fantastic too! Taking this step beyond, your claim that this is the best sounding driver on the market PERIOD IS a bold statement that I’ve never heard from you before.
I have to admit, it was nice to wake up to this review today. If it had been released yesterday along with the pile of other reviews from other RUclipsrs it could’ve been lost in the scrum. Not so much for me, of course, As I watch all your videos anyway! More so for everyone else!

Been playing the TS3 since it came out. Messed around with SIM but was a bit too low spin for me. Tried the TSI3 last week. Ordered it. Sound is so much better. Seems to be a bit more forgiving and I was seeing around 13.5 launch/2100 spin at ~150 ball speed. Headed to Club Champion next week for a full fit.

I was watching the golficity fitting, and their fitter said once you find your consistent strike/miss, you move the weight to the setting behind that spot on the face. It will add weight behind that area and in theory, give a better strike. I’ve seen that in Sim fittings as well

James - I had same problem with consistency of strike location on face, using the 60g. Stiff Hzrdus Smoke Black shaft. I went back to fitter, who put me into the EvenFlow Blue 6 (Stiff) shaft - consistency of strike location DRAMATICALLY improved! Appears to be shaft weight / timing issue: trimmed Smoke Black shaft (assembled club) actually equals ~ 58 grams; trimmed EvenFlow Blue shaft (assembled club ) actually equals ~ 68 grams.

277 carry with 107 club head speed is an extremely good fitting. I also like the fitting with the B1setting for you that gets the startline Right with the flatter lie angle and keeping your spin at 2800 clearly helps fight the Left Shot.

I got "fitted" for the TSI2, used my TS2 spec and changed lofts as my current was launching too high, first time I used the course as a fitting basis and definitely made a massive difference, used the range to get a basic idea then played a 9 hole lesson hitting 2 off every tee (1 with each driver) definitely easier to see performance gains testing on course

My son 5 (HCP) has always been a Callaway or Taylor made fan until he got fitted for a TS3 last year. Says he much prefers sound and feedback of an all metal head and don’t see him switching unless he wants the newer model. We enjoy the back to back comparisons both predecessors against new model and brand v brand. However with tight regulations and decent fitting differences would be small. In most comparisons

@james The Hzrdus Smoke 6.0 is softer than your Sim 6.5 version. Do you ever play around with other shafts on your own? You've got the launch monitor. I would think if you went Ventus or Atmos shafts in that head with the right profile (black or Blue), you'd see some distance gains and Spin drop 400 ish. 2800 average is high. You're giving up some yards there easily.

I have had 3 Titleist drivers in the past. 905, 910. 915. I liked them all mainly because Titleist could make their driver perform will with a shorter shaft than the other companies. Now however, they have gone to the longer shafts, the same as the other companies. I have gone to Cobra, Their custom shop made me a Tour Length Speed Zone Xtreme driver properly weighted for me ..I am 20 yards pas the 915. That attention to detail has won me over other companies ties should be doing the same, Most just shorten the shaft, often at the wrong end.

Great review. Wouldn't you put the weight towards the toe to stop it going left?

    • @markkarpinski1460
      @markkarpinski1460 3 года назад

Yeah, I don't understand why the fitter has it there. The reason why the weaker hits when caught center/toe of the face is because the cgi weight not being behind it, no? I play a Callaway epic and have always been prone to miss too far to the toe side. I moved the weight all the way to toe side and my hooks have stopped and any shot hit hit center/toe is traveling much farther with a baby draw. I was always under the assumption that shots hit center heel are going to produce higher spins and shorter distance. Seems like the weight is facilitating that to happen and penalizing him when he hits it correctly off center/toe. Love to see you get numbers with the weight moved to center/toe and for kicks, all the way out at the toe. Can't hurt to try.

With all the companies using Carbon in the crown, I still find it disturbing that Titleist has not gone there. I've read the reasons, better frame design, more rigid crown using Titanium, blah blah. Put it up against a SIM or Cobra SZ and I'll bet that Titleist comes in third place. Still, at least it looks better than it used to.

    • @matthieuperrier2707

Making the crown is for saving weights but You need a lot of glue to stick it all together so at the end the overall weight is nearly the same. The Titleist titanium crown is the thinnest in the industry and it allows You to tune the sound as the players want. Its Also like You said more durable than carbone

    • @keithneilson6236

I'd personally say yes! I made a mistake couple of months ago but was just keen to get a new driver. Guy didn't know what he was talking about in AG, was trying to push the models he was clearly comp'd on. Some of the things he was saying were a joke. Like particular brands being known for more spin, not models, but brands. Lol, enough said there really. Complete bollocks. He was trying to sell me a club, not fit and for that reason I'd never use them again, But I persisted and regret it. The driver turned up for me to collect and I'm not convinced it was the shaft I agreed on at the fitting but don't have a way to question. It feels different than how I remember and the build was just bizarre. I'm convinced I was hitting a hazrdus yellow which is counter weighted, but they stuck a black in there and its so different I'm sure in the feel dept when the shaft loads and at impact. Club was a Cobra speedzone and it arrived with the weight back, Low loft by a degree or two, can't remember so it sits massively open. I don't ever play a cut bit this thing was brutal, high massive cuts. Was so uncomfortable at address. I've always played a Titliest driver and they sit so right, this thing was horrid.
Ive tweaked it so it sits squarer and seems to spin less but its now guesswork on settings. Completely defeated the purpose of going for a fitting so I don't know if it's right or optimum. I don't have confidence the shaft is best fit either.
Just booked in for a Titliest fitting with the titliest centre for the ts3i and hope that's a better experience. Sure it will be. Good luck

I will have to take a hard pass on trying this driver. I have been gaming the TS3 with the Tensei Blue for the past year. Decent performance but a bit spinny for my taste especially with a SS north of 115mph. Moving onto to the SIM Max with the LAPG custom shaft which is a low spin monster. Which makes the fact that James was fit to have the weight in one of the "heel" settings very interesting, considering his tendency to, uh, er... FORE LEFT!!!

£500+ !!! Boys toys envy. I fail to understand how the new product line can be soooooo much better.
For a large majority of club golfers; accuracy is better. The object is to reduce bogies, not hit 300+ yard drives.

James, I know that you need to address your audience, however lost count in the first few minutes how often you used the words GUYS............Having a daughter that is currently in the USA on a golf scholarship don't forget that girls also play this game too.......and in fact some better than the guys.......Just a thought mate. Other than that great video as always.

“Guys” is a colloquialism for everyone. 👍🏼

    • @markymark9935

all depends how you take it, English lacks a standard gender-neutral second-person plural pronoun (like French as an example), Guys has been always used in modern times in a social/group context. It is informal but its main intent generally is to address the group in the most gender neutral manner. It can also be used to specify a gender, at that point, it would make sense to use gals for the other gender like hi guys and gals, maybe this will die out over time who knows but he ment not to isolate people from his audience, i know my wife says to her group of friends and adress the group of ladys via hi guys and same for group messages, like if you look at south america its something like how you doing y'all, (taken from dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/guy "guys [ plural ] mainly US
used to address a group of people of either sex")

@@JamesRobinsonGolf James, thank you for the reply, and of course depending upon which version of the dictionary you refer to you will get a different answer. The collins dictionary refers to a guy as a male.
