So I recently got fit for a new driver and it came down to the G410 & TSi3. I decided to get the Titleist as it had a slightly lower spin for me and gave me an average 7 yards more than the Ping, with better dispersion. Just goes to show that its all quite personal.
Agree with so much of what you say in praise of Ping. Looking forward to G425 reviews when they come. Hope you get chance to test/review the 5w/7w in that range.
Tried the TSi3 at a recent Titleist fitting event, and was disappointed that no matter how hard the fitter tried, he couldn't beat my unfitted Taylormade SIM (I was hoping for an improvement because I have a regular flex shaft in my SIM with a 106mph club head speed). Every time I have tried Titleist drivers through the years, the ball speed just doesnt match up to competitors. I come away happy knowing that I have a driver that is still working well despite the shaft flex, and I am not leaving as much on the table as I thought I was (in the club department).
The truth is Chris that A LOT of titleist buyers buy on name recognition & brand loyalty. To be fair to titleist, they've earned their name. But you'd have to be crazy to only play titleist...unless they're paying you. I have buddies that have never played anything else...its like an arranged marriage to some guys.
Great video Mark... Love the strokes gained stats, so more informative than distance. I live in Hong Kong and we've had the Ping 425 out here for a while - I tried it and the performance is as strong as you'd expect but it's got a more muted sound...
You explained stability very well. It is a tangeble factor that cannot be measure, but for there are drivers that I feel comfortable hitting and all I need to do is make an easy swing and it will go. I like the idea of not having to fight it. Best mechanical equalent is the Edel torque balance putter, you simply don't fight and struggle to hit it square.
Hi Mark, i have an LST driver and a Ping SFT . It took a while to get used to a setting that suited me with the LST . But like you said, it never feels like it twists in your hands , compared to the SFT. But the LST goes where i want to go , just point it and swing . Still working on drawing it a bit more, but love the club
I got fitted for a G410 Max earlier this year and agree with the comment around when you get in the groove you feel like you can just hit fairway after fairway. Had people comment on it too when playing this year.
“Get quicker mark” Ping G410 LST for me.. tried this against mizuno, titleist and callaway (discount Taylormade as can’t stand the brand) found while ping was the longest (that was mizuno) the drop offs were so minimal and dispersion L-R was so small no matter where on the face meant ping was more game able by miles.. knock on effects being without trying swing faster as more confidence it’s going straight so overall will gain speed and therefore distance... keep up the videos for the other tubers to copy bruh👍👍⛳️⛳️
Well said! I didn't try the 425. I bought the TSI3 based on my experience with the TS3 from last year. I really think this is a great year for drivers. Probably isn't a bad one in the bunch. I probably wouldn't consider Taylormade or Callaway as a matter of principle (Taylormade for the utter volume of releases and Callaway for the same added to the wobblesoft ball scandal)
I recently switched from the PING G400 Max to the G410 LST after test driving it with the optimum shaft and settings for me. We were able to reduce spin by over 300 rpm, dial in a better launch, and picked up 20 more yards over my Max driver. The G410 LST is just as easy to hit for this 72 year old even if I miss the center of the face a bit (as I am wont to do from time-to-time). I'm sold!
i think its a tough test because there are 2 different shafts in those clubs .. id love to see same shaft used ... also question why do you use the pink castle tee and not the orange one that sets up higher ? love to see a test like that too ..
as a part of the "Fowler" -gen i started out with white and blue drivers, got fitted for a Fowler orange Cobra biocell :-) ... but as a mid range hcp I've always felt like it promoted comments between playing partners, especially during comps where you team up with strangers - so I went 2nd hand for while, and ended up with Titelist(at the time where Jordan just wouldn't change his 915) and became a huge brand fan, pretty much with all the arguments you've stated, quality equipment, a stable release schedule, "non shouting"-marketing and a bunch of very good and likeable staff players on top. Then the G400Max arrived... and with all the reviews, especially from you guys on RUclips, I had to try it and got fitted for one even... IT WAS NOT to my liking at all... back to the space looks and shouting sound... I sold it half way through the season, with a huge loss and ended up back with my old old old 910... Im planing for a fitting this spring, and going for a TSi, but, with Mizuno as an option as well. I hope it's a one-off for Titleist with the shouting, otherwise it would have an effect on my "fanboyism" over time for sure. I'm actively avoiding TM and Callaway for that very reason, as well as their release-frequency of new products
"Get Quicker Mark" - I'm looking at the TSi3 but will now factor in the Ping before making the decision, very interesting on the highlight on cost differential which is significant Stay safe & many thanks for all the reviews and insight.
"GET QUICKER MARK" Tried a friend's P410 LST for the first time yesterday. Felt lovely. Went straight but high (not fitted!!!). Just as long or longer than my 913 titleist. Could see it my bag even though everything else is titleist
I like the matt black finish on the Ping. It's what brought me back to Ping about 8 or 9 years ago when I got a Ping Anser driver. I couldn't put it over the fence at the end of the range in the way I could my Cleveland Hi-Bore but it was so much more consistent and less punishing with off centre hits. Now using a G400 driver and I probably won't look anywhere else next time I want/need to change. The Ping just does what I need it to do which is make up for my shortcomings.
"Get quicker Mark". Traded in my Callaway Epic Subzero for a G410LST. The thing I liked in the Ping is that I could feel the weight in the head and that let me know where the club face was through the swing. It is very forgiving on the course and goes straight generally even with my typical miss (heel strike). I tried the TSi2 in store at the same time as fitting for the G410LST and Ijust found the Titleist was much too high spinning and not as forgiving. Very happy with the choice I made.
Two great points Mark that I want to mention. I've always felt like the Ping was more stable when I hit it, but to be honest to your point, I think I got to concerned about the "shouting" from brands about what they do and not what they do for ME! I wised up and play what is the best to me. Which is the G425... Ummmmm I mean the G410. 😉
Get Quicker Mark. Keep up the strokes gained. I find them very interesting. Out of the 2 clubs, and I game Titelest irons, I'd be inclined to go with the Ping. Ping will be in my 3 drivers to test. Oh, and Happy Holidays to you and Coach Lockey..
Just got the 410 with the tour stuff. I’m on the borderline between stiff and xstiff. Ordered the xstiff shaft and I will be testing them out next week!
Went to get fitted for a driver recently, wanted the 425 so bad, but the TSi3 was better in club speed, ball speed, carry distance, and total distance. The ping was more accurate, but the TSi3 was surprisingly more forgiving than you'd think. Being a lefty, I wanted to support the sonpany that caters to lefties in Ping, but I couldn't go against the numbers of the TSi3.
Get quicker Mark! Got a TSi3, myself, thoroughly enjoy hitting it - I was attracted to the idea of testing out whether that tolerance actually does depreciate as quickly as other drivers or whether it holds its tolerance a little longer than others with the new construction material
Titleist has a product cycle of 2 years ping kicks a new one out every year so comparable generation doesn’t mean much. And the g410 is a beast and so is the tsi3 is too. But the numbers are all about the same there is an on going joke on the channel “262”. Although people do get benefits from certain companies more than others that’s why you should always get fit. Or just buy something shiny and enjoy lol
@@stephencarroll5346 I think Ping is not on a yearly cycle, but rather 18 to 24 months, but is offset somewhat from Titleist. My comment still stands, in my opinion.
Ping and Titleist are on a Two year cycle. The TSi and G425 are considered the same generation. The G425 is already been released for 2+ months in some countries. I like that these two companies don’t do a driver every year!
B I’d say Ping is more like variable. G400 came out later 2017, G410 late 2018 LST spring 2019. G425 was slated to be released much earlier in 2020. Titleist is like clockwork every 2 years, at least for their main 2/3 line.
One full season of Ping G410+ in play. High bomb balls in standard 9 degree loft, weight in toe and flat setting to moderate my draw. Will try delofting up to 1.5 degrees on the extreme wind days we get here in Central Canada... seemingly every men's day 🙄
Get faster mark. Im playing ping G410 iron atm and G25 driver. So, full ping set up after going up to Gainsborough. Couldn't afford the driver while I was up there. Had a go with bubba, s driver while I was there. Hehehe saying nothing. 😂. Went down to titleist for a driver fitting last year but didn't find any inprovement so didnt splash any dosh. Being a Lefty I find it so difficult to find different manufacturer, s to compere clubs against each other. It would be lovely to have 2/3/4 clubs to try at the same time. Great video Mark, and your feet / earth contact / hip giration video really works. Only tried this once since seeing the vid, our course is closed due to weather xxx
Ping is just amazingly stable and forgiving. Love my G400 Max for the same reasons. Hopefully you're with Ping next as it would be good to see the tech and behind the scenes similar to what you did with Titleist.
"Get quicker Mark". You are quicker Mark and healthier I'd say! Great content, unbelievable how you are striking it so well even with new speed and feels. Merry Christmas to you and everyone watching.
OH they are definitely good enough, but they need to grab onto the younger market to stay in the game. I love TITLEIST and am so glad that these two companies don't flood the market every 6 months like the other 2 front runners that I have played in the past and have purged them both out of my 2 bags(YES 2 BAGS summer and winter). LOVE the comparison MARK.
You have Gotten Quicker Mark. I have not hit the TSi3 but I think it is a lovely club. Like a tuxedo. The Ping is like a tactical uniform. I own the G410 Plus now. I still have a G30 LST. Every now and then the two go head to head at the range for in the bag duty. It is very close. My personal best drives on several courses still lean toward the Ping G30 LST. I think I find more fairways with the G410 plus.
“Get Quicker Mark” I just love Ping, you get a feeling of safety with the Ping but it still gets out there, both great clubs but it’s the Ping for me. Hope you and the family have a great Christmas. 🎅
Mark have you ever tested or tried a driver head with Hot Melt in it to see what difference it makes in shot shape feel and sound... some fitters are now offering this but not sure it would assist many Am golfers at all.
”Get quicker Mark” - I have Ping G400 lst and I’m very happy with it. Consistancy ever with a poor hit is very good. Not gone change it to anything but a new Ping driver someday (maybe the new 425 lst, when it comes to European market...)
I’ve got both. I went with the Ping after having played a Titleist Driver the last 3 years. I liked the Ping’s sound and feel more than the Titleist. My choice was completely subjective. The top of the driver market (taylormade, callaway, ping, cobra, etc) is really good nowadays.
Another good review. Loving the strokes gained . “Get quicker Mark” !! Ping are looking really good at the moment and love the fact they don’t “shout” about it!
Get quicker Mark. I acquired the Ping G410 this year, I've never hit the ball as well. Longer and more forgiving than any other driver that I've played with. I made a few adjustments in my set up, which helped.
Get Quicker Mark - Recently tested the TSI3 against my Titleist 915 . 915 came out better! Would like to try the Ping but don't think I could get away from that pear shape.....
Great Vid Mark! Love the head to head format! I played the 410LST all last season and driving was probably the strongest part of my game (10 hcp). Now if I could only roll the damn ball...
“GET QUICKER MARK!” Good on Ping... and that was the old Ping .... G425 has been out here in NZ for 2 months already. Would be interesting to see if that’s even better on strokes gained???
Get quicker Mark! Great video as always. Looking forward to you testing the new G425 & putting it up against the TSi3, RADSPEED & ZX5. I'm planning on getting fit for new clubs in 2021 & so far the 4 mentioned above are at the top of the test list. 🏌️♂️
"Get Quicker Mark". I prefer the look of the TSi3, I have always been a sucker for that simple classic look, but that is very personal. Then again I play i210 irons and G410 hybrids so I definitely enjoy the clubs Ping makes. Everyone always says just how forgiving the G410 is (I wonder if G425 when/if it comes out next year will improve on that aspect again) so I suspect it is probably the better choice for me but I would happily play either
Excellent vid,I have tried the TSi and was very impressed but then I got hold of the G425 (been out for a couple of months here in Aus.) and was even more impressed. Going to have a head to head fitting in January. When do you get the G425 there? I will be very interested to see the updated comparison. Love the content, stay safe and Merry Christmas to you and the family and to Coach and his family.
'get quicka mark' i've gamed the g400lst since its release, now have the g425lst and loving it. a bit of hot melt might help give the thud i like, but so stable and loooong.
“Get quicker Mark” both brands in my mind are two aspirational brands in golf. Always at the top end for quality, durability and tech. Don't know which one so would have to test. My game at the moment would benefit from tighter dispersion but could I hit it as well as you? I have a bit more human in my swing than you do Mark. Loving the strokes gained as they are really its a great addition to a test.
Mark, is it true that it doesn't matter what material the face is made of ... aren't most all drivers at the max for MOI... which tells me the weighting helps with draw or slice. I guess what i am trying to say it is mostly up to the golfer because the major brands are all so close..
"GET QUICKER MARK" My ROGUE SZ is starting to look a bit battered, definitely interested in the G410 lst have tested it once but unfortunately I was hitting it horrendous that day so need to test again at some point.
"GET QUICKER MARK!" Ping G410 LST for me on strokes gained and price. I currently play G400 LST and don't even feel the need to try a new driver. If I did, it would be the G425 LST when it's available.
Get faster mark! Very interesting review. I have only ever been on a launch monitor once, and my driver data set was producing 1900 spin rate. Relevant to your comments, I was gaming A SLDR at the time. It was nice to hear what you said about the SLDR, as for the last year I've been petrified of trying a possible replacement for my m4 as everything shouts about low spin, and I'm thinking "I'm already low spin and don't have the speed to handle any lower" Maybe I'll have another look when we're allowed. P.S. what is the deal with the ping head, and the drilled head above the adjustment screw??????
The consistency Ping can deliver is amazing. They should be the best in market for high to mid handicappers. I imagine when ball strikes improve then Titleist (or even Callaway or Taylormade) start to become "better" options because they can give you a bit more distance and you're less concerned about mishits. It's hard to argue with what Ping does though. Even look at SIM or TS2i. They're trying to copy what ping started years ago in terms of lower more drawn back weight.
Get quicker Mark In the last 5 years, I’ve gamed a Ping G and now a Titleist TS3. They’re both good clubs and do slightly different things (I couldn’t miss the fairway with the G but I hit the TS further based on how it was fitted). I’d happily game either the TSi3 or 410LST too.
“Get quicker Mark”. I need to fill some gaps in my bag and bought a G410 7 wood and it’s awesome. I’ll look at this driver now to replace my Ping G15 driver that’s getting a tad tired.
Been playing Ping for a number of years. Wish I found them 10 years sooner. There are only 2 reasons to play Ping clubs: 1) Overall consistency of performance--distance and dispersion 2) Resale Value--once you've owned a couple of sets/clubs you realize that Ping resale is better than any other brand on the planet.
Such a shame you can't get a hold of the G425, have been available in Aus for several months and are nothing but rave reviews. I have been fitted with the fairway woods and the stability is another level. I think Ping are setting a level that the big boys are going to find hard to compete with.
"Get quicker Mark" I have played only one round with the Ping G410 LST and was very impressed with it (my gamer is a Ping G SFT). As a moderate swing speed player, I was surprised how the LST performed--far better than I anticipated. I am curious to try other brands, but, for my money, I don't view Ping as as big a gamble as other manufacturers.
I wonder if Ping could be your next sponsorship deal, what a win that would be on the strokes gained you would be the unbeatable champion of the South ! “GET QUICKER MARK!”
I have played for 20 odd years and never had a Ping club till just after lockdown and fancied the 410 5 wood, love it so much I am looking at the driver cos it's so easy to hit. Ping is not a sexy brand but obviously they know what they are doin.
Get Quicker Mark. I have the G400 LST and it has been the best driver that I have owned. Before that the Ping Rapture driver was the best. I keep toying with the idea of going to something like the TSi3 but I don't know that I can rationalize spending the money on something else that may or may not be better for me.
The only Ping driver I remember liking is the one that had the racing stripes on the top. The matte finish is necessary to show off all the fins and creases on the top. If it was metallic, the visible tech would be nearly invisible.
Well done on producing a quality portfolio of varied vids in spite of a pandemic! Roll on 2021.
So I recently got fit for a new driver and it came down to the G410 & TSi3. I decided to get the Titleist as it had a slightly lower spin for me and gave me an average 7 yards more than the Ping, with better dispersion. Just goes to show that its all quite personal.
Found the same tsi3 longer and dispersion was insane just didn't want to spend £500 but results don't lie so tsi3 is now in the bag and rocking it 👍
Agree with so much of what you say in praise of Ping. Looking forward to G425 reviews when they come. Hope you get chance to test/review the 5w/7w in that range.
I like the equipment reviews and comparisons. Keep them going. 👍
Get quicker Mark. Oh and best wishes for Xmas and 2021; here's hoping for a more normal year next year. Looking forward to more great content!

Have the Ping G410 plus driver as well as the fairway woods and rescue. Also have the G410 irons and love them. Iam a 10 handicapper.
“Get Quicker Mark” I just love Ping, you get a feeling of safety with the Ping but it still gets out there, both great clubs but it’s the Ping for me. Hope you and the family have a great Christmas. 🎅
What is that big hole in the bottom of the Ping head just above the shaft screw?
I haven’t really liket titleist before, but this year I got TSI3 driver TSI2 fw TS2 hybrid and T100S all black irons and I completly love them!!
Please test this Ping 410 LST against the Cobra Radspeed - another stable head I recall you saying in your review
"Get Quicker Mark"
When you test drivers, do you fit your shaft on them, use a std version or fitted from the brand?
Mark have you ever tested or tried a driver head with Hot Melt in it to see what difference it makes in shot shape feel and sound... some fitters are now offering this but not sure it would assist many Am golfers at all.
Hey Mark, have you done a comparison between the Ping 410 vs. Srixon zx5 Driver?
”Get quicker Mark” - I have Ping G400 lst and I’m very happy with it. Consistancy ever with a poor hit is very good. Not gone change it to anything but a new Ping driver someday (maybe the new 425 lst, when it comes to European market...)
"Get Quicker Mark" Merry Christmas! Thanks for your videos.
How do I go to a fitting and get strokes gained info?
Get Quicker Mark - Recently tested the TSI3 against my Titleist 915 . 915 came out better!
Would like to try the Ping but don't think I could get away from that pear shape.....
Great Vid Mark! Love the head to head format! I played the 410LST all last season and driving was probably the strongest part of my game (10 hcp). Now if I could only roll the damn ball...
“Get Quicker Mark”
Cant wait until the G25 is out to test against the TSi3, Sim 2 , Srixon ZX 5 or 7 and whatever Callaway is coming out with.
“Get quicker Mark”
I got a chance to test the G410 SFT for a few rounds and eventually bought it. Has made a massive difference to my game.
“GET QUICKER MARK!” Good on Ping... and that was the old Ping .... G425 has been out here in NZ for 2 months already. Would be interesting to see if that’s even better on strokes gained???
Get quicker Mark. Thanks for this video. The Titleist is on my target list to try
Really like the new TSI , will wait for the new 425 , SIM and trying to fond somewhere to test the new Srixon. Not easy where i live !
"get quicker Mark", was wondering what is going on with the area on the bottom of the Ping where the hotmelt plug is?, overheating?
I agree with the adjustable neck on ping woods it’s so good and unnoticeable unlike some other manufacturers..... Cobras is very good also ....
GET QUICKER MARK! Been looking at the g410 for a few months now. Think I might wait until the g425 comes out and take the plunge 👍🏼
"Get quicker mark" - always tempted by the 410, but trying to work out the benefit of it over the 400 with the price difference
“Get quicker Mark” great stuff as always cheers from NorCal
A bit worried about that ball strike mark near the neck on the LST :)
Ping Cap next year Mr Crossfield?!
“Get quicker Mark”
"GET QUICKER MARK" My ROGUE SZ is starting to look a bit battered, definitely interested in the G410 lst have tested it once but unfortunately I was hitting it horrendous that day so need to test again at some point.
"GET QUICKER MARK!"
Ping G410 LST for me on strokes gained and price.
I have added ball speed and yardage with TSI3 I've rmy old SIM Max. I believe it's more down to the fit though than the club.
Get quicker Mark. Interested to see if the can keep the trend going with the new G425 woods.
Who’s this dude cranking em out there at 300y total? Congratulations on your gains man! Really awesome.
Get quicker Mark
In the last 5 years, I’ve gamed a Ping G and now a Titleist TS3.
Love my Ping G400 LST, looking forward to the G425
Been playing Ping for a number of years. Wish I found them 10 years sooner. There are only 2 reasons to play Ping clubs: 1) Overall consistency of performance--distance and dispersion 2) Resale Value--once you've owned a couple of sets/clubs you realize that Ping resale is better than any other brand on the planet.
Get quicker Mark 😁 Watched this because of the way Westwood talked about the Ping he had at DP World Champs. Long fairway finder 💪
Such a shame you can't get a hold of the G425, have been available in Aus for several months and are nothing but rave reviews. I have been fitted with the fairway woods and the stability is another level. I think Ping are setting a level that the big boys are going to find hard to compete with.
"Get quicker Mark"
I have played only one round with the Ping G410 LST and was very impressed with it (my gamer is a Ping G SFT). As a moderate swing speed player, I was surprised how the LST performed--far better than I anticipated. I am curious to try other brands, but, for my money, I don't view Ping as as big a gamble as other manufacturers.
Mmmmm coming home , pushing for ping next year me thinks !!!!!!!!
