love this filming style, i appreciate the cinematic masterpieces normal videos are, but this feels more personal and I felt like I was there with you guys, love it! definitely a nice alternative
They play with cars like I would if I was testing it, if no one was watching me do it… (please get off the composite) TSP always gives me the impression they are in my level of attainable instead of talking down. Even when filming pipe dream cars
Just a heads up, the up and down buttons on the right of the trunk door (where the Toyota name is) is where you control your power up/down rear window!
Not like its a big deal but crazy to see a prop rod for this hood while my nearly 20 year old 4th gen uses pistons. Overall after my initial hate for how it looks, I don't really mind it. It's always the case where the design grows on you over time. Still not fully on board with it being a turbo but I get it... I'm just weary of reliability. Just more things to go wrong.
Ive been waiging for this, wish there was a little more detailed specs in regards to the storage space in the rear with seats up and down, maybe get a shot of yuri in the back for comparison. Always love your videos guys, great job cant wait for the next review.
Yeah but the 4 banger making more power and a lot more torque than the v6 ever would plus all that torque available down low and won’t feel as gutless during daily driving like the old v6
@flight2k5 like I said…sold by the brochure. Needs a hybrid/turbo to make up for the loss in engine size. Introducing more points of failure. The new Taco and Tundra engines are perfect example. But all good. I’ll keep my 5th Gen, and y’all can ride the bandwagon of the “new” and “cool” technology. lol
Such a highly anticipated rig. With SUV model convergence/proliferation I wonder how much different this will be from the new lower end Landcruiser feature and price wise? Probably not much diff.. nice work guys!
Are you talking about the sides? I am also looking for a vehicle I can sleep in while camping. What space was available before that isn't now? New to the 4Runner family
Let's go Nissan!!! Undercut this thing with a gas-powered, less-expensive XTerra. There is no way we need all these 'features' when our $1K iPhones can do so much. Old Man Emu & ARB supported Nissan too.
I still don't understand why Toyota uses TRD for their off road vehicles. It stands for Toyota Racing Development right? So how did that translate to off road capability?
Strangely we get a SUV in 2024 with no panoramic moon roof; they should have kept that as an option. Asking for a removable roof maybe a big stretch for Toyota but something Jeep and Bronco have.
Loved all your videos..this included too but you boys were a little under prepared, eh? The 6th Gen 4 Runner took the same trail as the Tundra and the Tacoma...btw, that was a air compressor at the back😂
Looking to purchase next year. Wondering if this'll be a better purchase over the Land Cruiser. Don't off road often but I do about twice a month when I visit my grandad's farm
Those Trailhunter wheels are fugley. If the “snorkel” isn’t one then what’s the use. It seems that it tows a thousand pounds more than my 2021 TRD Pro. I like the placement of the drive mode and locker control. I’ve never liked the placement on mine and the visual in the middle of the dash is lame on mine. My dog loves the roll down rear window so glad they kept that. Really like the auto lift gate although you didn’t say if it was on the TRD Pro. Also missing on mine is a sunglasses holder and it looks like the new ones may have it where the MTS control used to be???
Toyota seems to rule the Mid Range Front Longitudinal Off-road SUV Market with the Land Cruiser, Prado, FJ Cruiser and the new 4runner. The only close competitor seems to be Ford with the new Ford Explorer and few other Ford SUVs... I actually like this 4runner compared to all the other premium SUVs from BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and Land Rover. Good job Toyota...
It looks EXACTLY like I hoped it would! Now if we can just get Ford and Chevy to give it some competition in the form of Ranger/Colorado SUVs (The Bronco doesn't count, it has removable roof panels and doors which sucks).
2002 4runner Limited 4WD - i believe it is/was the best vehicle i have ever owned to this point in my life, and i have owned roughly 14 cars in 16 years. got it in 2004 as a hand me down from my mom to use for high school and later , college. put 230k on it befre it set on fire while offroading with some friends .... long story. any who, good ole Toy-yofahave finally replaced the 4runner with a redesign that i would buy. well done toyota, some faith in humanity has been restablished.
I just want to see if they have a trd off road with no stupid kdss or another fancy suspension. If you can get the trd off road non premium with no sunroof, but with the heated and ventilation seats.
I still don’t know how I feel about going to a four cylinder, but the rest of it looks amazing! I love my 5th gen and I’m not getting rid of it, but that things a dinosaur
They’ve managed to redesign the 4Runner while keeping it looking like a 4Runner. I don’t know how there’s a market for this and the Landcruiser, which is essentially the same kind of vehicle now that it’s smaller.
Apparently the 4runner is still built in Japan. I assume it shares the Tacoma architecture. I thought it would be built where the Tacoma was for cost. Now it will compete with the Land Cruiser in price, which means they wont make a lot of those
@LoneWolfSparty I don't think anyone financing a vehicle for the asp (~$48k in the US) would see a much different number between $45k and $55k. That's just a few options sadly. You wouldn't be financing a vehicle that expensive if financing that extra $10k really mattered. That's just a poor decision

These will be a steal at $115,000 with a 2-year waiting list and dealer markups!
lol right. The base 4Runner will be 60k with markups. I want the new one to replace my ram, but with the current prices SCREW that!

You missed the rear hatch window buttons on the hatch handle - right side.
They make car reviews not boring... This guy's are great 😎👍
I’m so hyped for this vehicle. I personally feel like this is an amazing refresh for the 4Runner

Great review! I live literally 20 minute away and saw toyota getting ready for it yesterday!

Yes! Thank you Toyota for still offering a rear automatic roll down window!!

from other videos, the back window you can operate from the gate door, on the right side there are buttons triangle up and triangle down.

Tacoma and 4Runner always had an independent look from exterior to interior but this just looks like a Tacoma.
When I saw this I got so exciteddddd - banger review TSP! Those visors tho
First Toyota was a 1990 Cardinal Red 4R - the V6 was under-powered, and corrosion got to it eventually, but that thing would go through a anything.

I hate when companies bitch out with their prototypes, why just not show them if you are scared people use them as intended.
