Watch Valhalla and The Bards Song (in the Forrest) live at Wacken open Air and you will see why they are called The Kings of the crowd. Blind Guardian Songs are allways a journey and you can enjoy them all. They are playing now some 36 Years and havent lost theyre energie and fun by making this awsome music.
This kind of music is usually referred to as Power Metal. Also, the first time you said Blind Guardian, the way you pronounced Blind was actually how "blind" is pronounced in german. Blind Guardian are from germany, so nice one :D
Aaahhhhh not another one calling it powermetal. Blind Guardian is not power metal. They just got used to getting called that. But when it all started they still also said we're "not really" power metal. Until they just accepted being called that. The drums with Thomen are way to thrashy and speedy for "power metal". And Hansi'S voice is much more that of a "storyteller" than a power metal high pitched singer. They are their own thing and it is awesome that there still is "unique" style today out there. I personally just call it "Epic Speed Metal".
@@dontanton7775 Hansi calls it progressive power metal, which I agree with. many of their songs, old or new, have lots of prog metal influences, lots of power metal influences and all mixed with a bit of speed metal. Mirror Mirror is a very good example of a very progressive song by them. tons of melodies, relatively little repetition and fluent transitions. this is more prog than a lot of songs I know that people classify as prog metal but, calling them sinply power metal is very misleading I agree.
@@dontanton7775 I totally agree with this. Most Power Metal bands songs are more upbeat with positive vibes like "We will be victorious and slay the dragon. Where Guardians like "I just watch everyone I know get destroy by the dragon" but like you said more story telling

I like how you recognize the sound. Unfortunately they changed producer and now we have a standard sound. BG's sound was the best around 1998 when they worked with producer "Flemming" in denmark, who also produced 2 Metallic albums. The new producer totally changed their sound :/

Another great song from the same album would be The Curse of Feanor. Hansi's singing is top notch on that one.
