    Dang, on TV Fed looks so calm and peaceful but this angle definitely shows how aggressive and intense he really is! Obviously he’s still graceful and fluid but it’s like controlled violence. Awesome.

    • @tomsd8656
      @tomsd8656 9 месяцев назад +2

      Violence is not the right word. Tennis is a blend of intensity and calmness. If you lack either one, you tend to lose. This happens at the recreational level a lot. That's why many players play a lot worse than when they warm up, because the calmness deserts them once the match starts.

      Yeah I am noticing watching this frame by frame he is uncoiling both upper and lower body instead of what I keep hearing being taught which is uncoil lower body first then allow upper body to coil second.

    Talk about slow court speed, that court is almost as slow as French clay. Swear that after the bounce you could walk beside the ball and it wouldn't get away. But in contrast, Federer plays REALLY fast from this angle. You can see exactly why he chooses a particular shot that he does. These details are not at all clear from the standard camera angle - you never get to see ball trajectories and spins properly except from ground camera.

    Even as a Fed fan, some Fed fans embarrass me with their crazy sense of devotion. Like yes his skills are out of this world, but like, get a handle of yourself - it is weird to love someone that doesn’t even know you and despite being a tennis legend, he’s just another human being. I can appreciate the admiration because I do, too, but when it reaches this level of uncontrollable giddiness on display, it’s a bit off-putting and cultish. It’s pretty cringe and I’ve only seen it from Fed fans.😭
