    Federer...I rather follow his training match than tournament highlights

    Maybe just coasting but Edmund not doing more w some of those Fed serves, esp when he’s SnV a lot? Fed tossing some puff serves which Kyle should be ripping.

    IW pretty fast hard courts. Unless I missed, Edmunds never once does SnV. Zero, while Fed did many SnV, and many net approaches during point, most all ending in winners. It’s a practice session, so why not Edmonds practice net game? WTH is going on w ATP?

    The ATP ruined the game when they collectively slowed down grass and hard courts.
    You should look up some of Roger’s matches from 2003- 2007. The courts played lightning quick and Roger took full advantage during those magical 4 years. Check out Roger’s 2006 match against James Blake at the US Open. Holy crap. They were firing lasers at each other. It looked and felt like a ping pong match.
    The slowing down of the court speeds would have ruined every other aggressive player’s career. But Roger still won an additional 8 grand slams from 2008 onwards on slower surfaces and despite being past his prime. The man’s ability to adapt astounded me.
    Every now and then over the past 14 or 15 years, the courts would randomly play quicker than usual during certain years. For instance, during the 2017 Aussie Open and 2017 Indian Wells tournaments, rallies were lightning quick and the likes of Wawrinka and Nadal couldn’t keep up with the fire coming off Roger’s racquet. You can even argue that the courts were still slow but Roger still found a way to effortlessly hit winners by hitting the ball early and switching to a larger racquet head.
    The courts also played unusually quick during Fed’s 2010 Aussie open win when Fed destroyed Murray with aggressive precision tennis and refused to engage in marathon rallies.
    Federer in full flight…on a quick surface is something we’ll never ever see again.

      How would you suggest an aggressive player adapt to slow courts? You seem like you’d know

      @briandtnguyen Год назад

      @@progressivedemagogue8480 I think the answer is Alcaraz. Haha. Despite heavier balls and slower courts, he’s routinely ripping 100 mph winners on his forehand. So whatever he is doing, other players should replicate.
