Can you look more beautiful to watch than Federer? Can you take the ball earlier than he does? Honestly when he stop playing he will leave a big gap in tennis and that what he makes him the greatest tennis player ever because of the way he plays not because of records.
The only luck here is tiafoe breaking back in the last set because of a weak first serve from Federer lol. He had it and gets broken the very next game lol. Glad for tiafoe that he wasnt born in Federer's generation lol
Tiafoe has grown so much in the last five years since this match. Taking Roger to 5 sets was a "leading indicator" of what was to come for him. today, imo, he's a top contender for #1.
@@alexanderbudde8858 No, it wasn't. Its not a depiction of the match. Only clown Fed fans will approve of this. Stop acting like effort went into this.
Rafael Mertin well sorry to burst your bubble but I ain’t a fed fan, but when tiafoe is playing up the middle of the half every shot then the highlights are gonna be feds. Just cuz you hate that fed makes great looking shots doesn’t mean that the video is a die hard fed vid.
@@alexanderbudde8858 clearly you cant see what the issue is with this video. tiafoe produced numerous winners for the first break, so it werent just great shots, but they were also extremely vital to the match's progress.
@@TheRafaelBond Technically it was exactly a depiction of the match in terms of punch/counter-punch and set outcomes. Had Tiafoe battled and WON this match then the choice of clips would have naturally contained more of Tiafoe's play BECAUSE there would be more of his play to highlight. The fact that Federer was the player that overcame and won is why the key clips were more centered around his play and, of course, there were more instances where Federer won key points - else, obviously, he would have lost. These highlights showed many of Tiafoe's excellent court play clips and IMO more than enough to demonstrate why he was a force to be reckoned with and why Federer had to battle a five setter. If someone wants more than that, then they should just watch the entire match. It's called "highlights" not "equal number of clips 'cause ya should"! If you really think no effort was put into making this highlight video then start your own youtube channel and show us all how it's done. Otherwise, try your best to appreciate the work of others and help make the world a better place one kind act/gesture at a time.
An injured Federer takes down Tiafoe in 5 sets; a fully fit Federer would have beaten him in straight sets and taken the title in 2017; Nadal just got lucky in 2017 and 2019
0:40 That return Federer hits off his shoelaces. The amount of power he gets from just his technique and sheer racket speed is ridiculous. How fast that came back across the net set up the rest of the point. Unbelievable how hard to hit a shot like that is.
I was at this match roger was injured, gave away a lot of early points with terrible misses, then got control of himself and finished it off. IT was a rainy night, so the roof in Ashe was closed, and all the other courts' matches were cancelled.....which made it great the next night......there were so many matches to be completed that the schedule was backed up past midnight! some of the "day" matches lasted past the main night matches on Ashe! We saw Caroline Wozniacki lose to....can't remebmer who....on a side court...it went past midnight.
Looking at the match now, it does seem clear that Federer was physically limited. He wasn’t getting his normal velocity on the ball, especially on the backhand side. Frances played great, for sure, but it definitely seemed like Fed wasn’t playing with his normal explosiveness.
Tiafoe has to seriously improve his reflexes and change of direction! His power game can get him through against only few players who simply retrieve all balls.
Roger so graceful and humility master at work.hope to see him healthy and playing soon.the best sportsmanship win or loose nick should take a page from this guy

Why do youngsters go superman mode against top 3 but then loses to unraked?
I think they play with nothing to loose attitude
^what he said. hes supposed to lose this
In this instance he could figth Federer so long because he was so much younger and best of five sets mode is absurd in the modern tennis.
