Still one of the freshest outfits in Federer's career.
He was unbeatable in this outfit.
He is indeed unbeaten in that green outfit.
@@vamheredur413 it suits him well. Definitely the best outfit he's worn in his career
I found it horrible
@@6onxza the pattern or the colour. In Australian open final 2017 Federer wore a similar outfit but white and black not green
@@brankojovic2000 he would've beaten djoko anyway
What a season Roger had in 2017, was a joy to watch as a Federer fan.
It would have been perfect if he had won US Open. I think he would have had many chances but unfortunately he was not physically at 100% (back problems).
It was a joy to watch as a Nadal fan too 😀
he came back to life
Agreed. A golden season. Really wish he had won the US Open that year
Helped that djokovic was injured all year
"He's laughing, he's an asshole but it's okay." is one of the greatest sound bites in tennis history.
Very true. After all both are from Switzerland.
Shows what class Stan has
You know you’re screwed when fed shows up in this outfit
Fun fact: Federer never lost in this outfit
This and the white version before it were two of the best kits he's ever worn, and that's not even based on his results
They looked amazing especially the green one
@@unowen7591 I think he lost in Dubai that year (one his only high-profile losses that year).
@@davidemeloferreira2458 I mean in the green color. The entire color and outfit, he's never lost in that green.
2017 Federer was definitely the most mentally tough. There are so many close matches which he won that year.
No expectations, no stress. He's just far worse at dealing with the crowd than Nadal and Nole are.
That wasn't the case. He was totally fresh, after the 6 month break, and full of confidence after winning AO.
There is only one result when he's on that mode.
And matches which he lost. Dubai,Stuttgart and WTF. Could've actually helped him to end no.1.
He'll comeback again in 2020 after long rest due to injury and corona virus.
@@rishimanda2191 No, he lost the N°1 because of the injury in Montréal.
That screwed is US Open, and therefore another GS in the tally and the number 1 spot.
1:33 - a serve from Stan in the middle of the point. And it was ace!
fed committed too early to the t-serve man so close
perfectly said bro, i agree
😂
TRUE perfect spot
didnt realize thanks for the point out
2017 is Federer best season in last 10 years
Samo reci da nisi Noletov fan pa da obrukas zemlju
Only season he won 2 slams and 3 masters from 2010 till 2019
By far.
Greatest comeback ever done by 35 years old player.
@@markonikolic4677 I da nije pa šta? 2017 kako je Roger igrao i Novaka bi u 2 seta dobijao lagano
Fed's kick serves were consistently monstrous throughout this match, and Wawrinka handled them well. However, they were flying out like this was RG
Dude ......you're so right! Demon strain.
Federer was an absolute beast in 2017
@/S_/H_/U_/K_/R_/A_/Y_/E / That's because Federer was a beast. You got the order wrong
/S_/H_/U_/K_/R_/A_/Y_/E / 2017 Federer would have beaten djokovic lol
Michele Gavelli Especially on fast courts. AO17 was pretty fast.
@@michelegavelli2479 2019 Federer was a pain in the ass to beat. All the matches he won were through tiebreak and the one Djokovic lost, he was crushed mercilessly. 2017 Federer was playing at " The realm of the God's " level as said by the commentator. Lucky that Djokovic played bad that year or he would have had his h2h also reversed as the gap was not that much.
Vivek Namikaze exactly, even in 2018 djokovic never dominated federer. He won a close match in Paris and won in Cincinnati against one of the worst Federer I’ve ever seen.
"The total package and then some." Koenig summed up Roger so well.
The speech was hilarious 😂
2017 federer simply unbeatable
Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.
Wawrinka: I've got the best backhand in the game
Fed 2017: Hold my beer
It's Djokovic 😁 the best backhand I mean
Aghoradipathi lol Stan has proven time and again that his backhand wins the matchup against Novak’s
@@trgjtk182 mmh not so sure about that. Wawrinka's is probably faster and no chance for Djokovic to win a backhand to backhand rally. However I think Novak's is better changing direction and hitting from akward positions. It a very interesting debate
Imagine if Wawrinka and Federer using double backhand, Djokovic would fly through the sky along with his stuffs.
@@felixyatin8086 imagine if nadal and djokovic were older. Federer would have the GS tally as murray.
This is more 10 times excited to watch then morden next gen tennis
As a Rafa fan I have to tip my hat off to him in 2017. His performance on slow hard at Indian Wells was stunning in every respect. From first match to last
Stan: "He is laughing. He's an asshole, but that's okay.."
My beloved Feddy was simply unstoppable in 2017. Rogie demonstrated why he is the GOAT and showed all the Chokosquirrel's he is still the sugar coated Sweetie of tennis we all love 🐿️🐿️
@GTS Lol, a Federer fan should not be talking about someone else's luck. Whole ATP tour goes to (at least) a 6 week hiatus almost immediately after Federer took his knee surgery. Just when his two rivals were dominating everything. Even RG where Nadal is likely to equal Federer's GS tally (or Djokovic complete his DCGS) is probably getting cancelled.
If Djokovic is Luckovic, there is not even a word to describe Federer's luck.
This whole thread is confusing.
2017 Federer was in another league. I miss him.
been a federer fan for many years he is irreplaceable i hope stan wins another big one before he retires
January - July 2017 were the best times to be a Fed fan, ever.
Not true at all lmao. Recency bias is real I guess
Sammy Al Hashemi What other years would you pick? 2006? The thing with Fed in his early years was that he kept getting stomped by Nadal even on hardcourts. It was just beyond satisfying to watch him beat him 4 times in a row that year. Maybe you’re right. I wasn’t a tennis fan when Federer was in his early 20s.
@@MrPatrickbuit mostly on clay though, and it's slow courts. Federer dominate on fast courts. Since early 2000 till now they slowing down the courts.
Patrick no nadal never dominated Federer on hardcourts.Fed lead the H2h on HCs early doors
For me too, though I never watched tennis before 2012. Missing Fed from 2003 to 2009 is a huge regret.
Watching again in 2024:
Incredible for Fed
Brutal for Stan
Federer uncompromising with his brand of elegant and assertive offense, and the glaring reality of Federer’s supremacy over Wawrinka. They both played extremely well, but Stan faced critical set points and lost both of them- I still say that on his best day, Wawrinka could beat anyone on the tennis court, but this was not his day. What a tournament for Roger and an unforgettable year of transcendent tennis.
Roger Federer:
I think I'm some kinda serve and volleyer myself
I think I'm some kinda baseliner myself
I think I'm some kinda counter puncher myself
I think I'm some kinda big server myself
I think I'm some kinda allcourt player myself
I think I'm some kinda TENNIS myself
💕💥
These are the kind of matches I like to see. Two player with some serious fire power trading winner shots like no tomorrow
8:44 . I wish I could say that to my opponents.
(Edit) Thanks for all the likes. So far, most I have ever gotten.
SpicyIndian Legend what was he saying cant hear it clearly
@@wuzhenick he's laughing, he's an a-hole
I remember watching this match. Great tennis moment. The point at 5:10 is out of this world.
Wish this Federer showed up in the 2019 SW19 Final. Where art thou Backhand.
Roger Federer is the class of the century
Stan was 3rd seed....good times for him....after Wimbledon 2017 things are falling down
after RG 2017 semi with Murray
TheNewGuy i think he was the top seed at the following tournament (Miami open)
@@michelegavelli2479 No, it was Murray or Djokovic. Murray mp he was no.1
Rishi Manda murray didn’t play that fournament
@@michelegavelli2479 yeah you're right. Wawrinka was seeded one. Even Djokovic didn't play.
Miss you Federer 😢😢
For all lover of one handed backhand like me ,this is a delicious plat😊😊
Superb power and accuracy on show.
Federer's tennis in 2017 was a treat to watch ! ❤
Great Match! Will forever be in the history books!
5:17 my favorite point of all time
Pure Athlete, Player, Magic, Unique no word unreal
Amazing to maintain this level at this age.
this is tennis, all around players, atack tennis... amazing to wathc
Wawrinka played quite well. What a glorious match to watch, actually. Love when these two have tight matches.
Stan was in the kind of form that he could have beaten anyone just about anyone with that kind of huge hitting and intensity, not even Novak in his best form would appreciate that kind of Stanimal mode, except Roger
What fantastic tennis by both men.
5:14 OMG
I’m happy he had a good 2017. He’d had plenty of losses against Rafa and Novak. These victories were reward for hanging in there and working hard and still trying.
Partidazo 👏🏻🇦🇷
What a match! Really. Tremendous clever rallies, power tennis,
This federer..💪🔥💯
Awesome you put that bit from Stan's speech at the end. Almost as good as the match itself.
I was there. First time I ever saw any professional player live. So good. The crowd was horrible though
what was bad about the crowd?
It's a treat to the eyes watching him play
This outfit was the best of his whole career by far. Wish it was still sold!
hassiktir lan surdan
Interesting tennis net.
their backhand is so addictive to watch😍😍
Time to relive it.
My two favourites! The two GOATS (and Rafa too of course)
Thank you for uploading content these days. Really aprecciate it!!
This was peak Federer.
@ 8:44
When the post match speech is better than the match
😂😂
Andy Roddick likes this comment 😆
So incredible!!
I love Federinka
Never ever again being player like Roger Federer ❤️
Framerate is pretty low is it? I find it cheeky to follow
Imagine how good Kyrgios can be. He was the only one who couldve/beaten Federer during that time. Talking about their Miami encounter
Que hermoso es el tenis
Jeez, I really wish Djoker had come up against Fed in 2017
Fed would have won
Why?
@@andrewlubbers3198 djokovic would have. spanked him.
missing those days federer era
I miss Tennis! I am in Spain and I cant play it :(
What a single hand winner from Federer
i miss this backhand.
His forehand is nowhere near this good anymore as well
You should see Federer 06'
What a beautiful match. Both players were try to be so aggressive
5:15 forehand half volley was crazy
Swiss Bliss!!!
Aww, they are brothers in country and in sport. Probably tough losing to your older sibling all the time.
Holy crap the power from Stanimal 6:28
Ridiculous level from Federer.
dude, that was a different indian wells than the one we had this year
I want thiem match
The quarter of death ✅
I thought Wawrinka vs Federer ATP Finals 2014 highlights would be there
Because we’re missing Indian Wells Tennis TV are only posting Indian Wells highlights for now.
thank you ^_^
🐐
Out of Federer's first 20 matches in 2017, his only loss came to the titan Evgeny Donskoy.
Federer hit better half volleys in this match than other players whole career
I always wanted to know what Federer has in his second bag as most players carry only a single bag.
To be honest, the only reason why 2017 was a complete fedal year is Djokovic was out of the picture. That also explains the domination of Federer in his prime, 2004-2009
Is 11 years old an alright age to start playing tennis, and joining a tennis club?
Music at the begining 16s?
They called it the 'Neo' backhand....
04:18 The late call should be a point for Wawrinka, not a deuce.
👏👏👏👏👏
I am the 201 viewer
@08:40 Wawrinka: I'd like to congratulate Roger(looks at his direction & starts smiling)...He's laughing, he is an asshole 😁🤣
prächtig
Despite being the best Wawrinka needed a little bit more to be the best...
Why does Roger need a ball girl carry his bag for him?
2 players that never use a double hand backhand
I wouldn't call 2017 "classic"
This is the match where Stan calls Roger “ an Asshole.” 😂
Wawrinka: He's Laughing, such an A$$H#*(.
Classic final what shit fed won in comfortable 2 sets what so classical in that?
plz tell me what stan said and why everyone laughs.😭
i'd like to congrate roger,he is laughing,he is an asshole, but it 's ok
nathan lu 👍👍👍👍
