    Badlander for heavy rhythms and Marks for leads! Both are awesome amps!
    Just prefer the Badlander

    I preferred the Mark IV. I’m some what biased as I have one myself but, I find the Mark IV gives a certain depth to the notes that the Rectifiers don’t quite do (I also have a Triple Rec that I’ve compared)

    Mark IV sounded a little fizzy by comparison. Seems to me like the high-mid slider would benefit from not being so high up.

    I think u might have set the 2200 and 6600 kinda high on the mark. I am sure you can make it sound less fizzy - I have one and it's a beast of an amp

    Badlander. I played a mark iv for a long time. Now have the royal atlantic. That badlander tone, for metal, is hard to beat but I will say that the RA is not far behind it.

    Good stuff man. The Mark IV was way brighter but your settings indicate you could either brighter up the Badlander or darken the IV. I’m looking forward to getting my Badlander in.

    The Badlander records better than it sounds, it has almost no low end to speak of, but because you aren't hearing much under 120hz in these videos, it sounds passable. The Badlander needs a resonance control at a bare minimum, it's just so thin compared to my Marks, you'd swear there was something broken inside, but then, I've played 3 Badlanders now and they can't all have the same issue. Also, nice picking!

    • @imstarz9123
      @imstarz9123 Год назад +2

      The Mark IV gets dialed in different than any other amp. The bass, mid, and treble are to "shape" your gain. And use the graphic eq to further it. Hard to explain in a short comment. Alot of the controls work with eachother. You can't dial this in like a Marshall or Peavey or a Dual rec. But the tone options are unlimited. The Mark IV may be the greatest amp ever. I'll never sell my rev b. As far as the V, Petrucci has some vids on here that show how to dial them in. The V is also a versatile beast. The iii red stripe is close to the C+ too.

    Hey with that Bandlander, can it run a line out after the power stack but without cab emulation? Wanting it to go into my interface without cabs or IRs.

    • @IllusionaryFuneral
      @IllusionaryFuneral 2 года назад +1

      If you’re trying to load your own IRs onto the raw signal, the Badlander allows you to load your own IRs onto the built in Cab Clone, so you can send the DI with your preferred IR to the interface or to FOH. No dickery required. It’s what I did with my new album, and it sounds absolutely monstrous!

    • @woodward_alan
      @woodward_alan 2 года назад

  • @mofongotron

    I'm super interested in the Badlander, but have a question that is especially relevant to you given how much you like Mark amps. How well can the Badlander do the compressed, Mark-style "liquid lead" tone? Rectifiers aren't exactly known for their lead tones. I have TC-100, which seems like it could be the sort of middle ground.

    • @geetarplyr1
      @geetarplyr1 3 года назад +2

      I have a TC-50 and a Badlander 100. The Triple Crown does a smoother, liquid type lead tone. The Badlander is more aggressive and better for crunchy rhythm imo, but I can still get great, fat lead tones out of it. Just my opinion of course. They're both very, very good amps and different enough to warrant having both.

      I don’t think the lead tones from the Badlander are quite to the level of a mark series. However I bet through a tube screamer or OD pedal in front of it might help a bit. I love it all though 😂🤷‍♂️

  • @TheBsavage

    HALF of this demo video was you talking. Talking about irrelevant personal vignettes & tangential topics with little to no bearing on the subject. Don't do that. Try to keep your patter tight & on-point. Lose the shirt. Wearing a cap with for a band that matches your shirt makes you look like a dork, like twin kids with matching outfits. It is a fashion faux pas. For a "demo" video there sure wasn't much demo. I was interested in how the Mark IV compared to the BL. Don't care about the other amps and how much you like them because it's not the topic of the video. Focus.

      @@jsullivan2112 Really, that's what you think? I'm sorry you live in a world bereft of objective reality. On the plus side, it could be fun. Every day being a new, psychedelic adventure. On the downside you'll fail miserably to understand much about the world around you. You'll fail to communicate effectively and you'll lurch from mistake to mistake, lost in an ocean of confusion because you can't figure out really basic stuff. I read my comment. It is chock full of absolutely and literally helpful suggestions. That you take these as criticisms tells me you have some significant emotional, mental, or educational deficiencies. That's too bad, I don't wish that on anyone (except sociopaths & sadists. They deserve all the misery life can muster for them.) I appreciate that things that are easy for me are difficult for many. I never know when I'll bump into this with others, like yourself. It happens frequently. I cannot, however, limit my own activities just because most people aren't quite bright, or astute enough to discern completely pedestrian concepts, like when I suggest a truly helpful modification, like altering speech pacing, that the intended recipeint of my message is too dumb, or uneducated, or brain-washed to realize or understand that I've given them an expensive gift with my suggestion. I'd pity you, but then again I'd have to pity most of the world and I just don't have the time for every microcephalic with a youtube channel and an inability to understand the basics of communicating effectively. I'll do it if I"m getting paid. Standard rate is $150/hr. It is truly a bargain, as many less capable than myself charge double that. I pity the fool that hires them. Remember: the fool can aske more questions than the wise man can answer. Similarly, stupid people's incapacity to understand simple concepts outstrips the ability of the more capable to help them. I wish you luck. Let me know if your luck improves and you learn to properly do what you pretend to be doing.
