I will admit, Bobbery saying “I know Scarlette is watching over me” made me tear up
I wish this scene could have included all the party members

Agreed the fact that everyone wasn't together for this is a shame.
Yeah it would have been more dramatic than just one person reacting
I personally think Vivian is the best. Especially since she and her sisters are distant relatives to the shadow queen. I always find it amazing that she not only turned against her sisters. But betrayed the demon she once served and helped mario save the world.
...And then Vivian proceeds to join back with her sisters in the epilogue even though she specifically stated that she would not go back with them in Chapter 4...
@@Loner098, yeah, but in the epilogue, it states that her sisters finally saw the error of their ways. After Vivian learned that, she decided to give them another chance. After all, beldam and marilyn are the only family Vivian has. She just couldn't bring herself to hate them forever.
@@starfishman1018 Wait, so they learned the error of their ways *offscreen?!* You're telling me that they apparently don't get any consequences for their actions (remember, Beldam verbally abused Vivian, gaslit Vivian into feeling terrible, AND summoned to take over the world)? Jeez, this is like Lusamine in Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
@Loner098 Well, with their leader, the shadow queen being defeated once and for all. Beldam and marilyn must have finally realized that being evil wasn't worth it and finally gave up. They both decided to turn over new leafs. Remember, doopliss seemed to be the same. He's now an actor and performs alongside flurry. Also, with grodus being reduced, a head, Lord crump, and the x-nauts didn't have to listen to him anymore, and they decided to give up their evil ways too.
@starfishman1018 If the writers really did have to be so dead-set on having Beldam have a change of heart to be a good person, then do some build-up to effectively justify her actions. Maybe go delve into her past at some point in the story. In most RPGs, it is more effective to show rather than just tell the player outright. Otherwise, such scenes or character development may not hit as great as most people would like to.
But speaking of Grodus, I know this game is for kids, but let's be honest; Grodus should've died. It kinda takes from the whole final battle, in my opinion. It would've been a far stronger scene to see the game's major villain be wiped out in a single attack by this greater power. That right there would've set the Shadow Queen just a bit better. Hooktail and Gloomtail were killed off, and it seemed likely that Grubba was, too, so how come Grodus the axe was too dark to make the cut?
I wish there was unique dialogue from the Shadow Queen for when you have Vivian out, like the former expressing disappointment in the latter for standing against her.

Choosing to serve the queen right in front of Vivian just sounds immoral… I mean, think about it, she turned away from the queen and her sisters, and you’re just gonna turn around and betray Vivian to do what she stopped doing?
I like that this comment implies choosing to serve the Queen is not already immoral.
What I mean is that doing it in front of Vivian is the MOST immoral
Funny that belnap and Marilyn tricked grodus to think that he can control the shadow queen but got betrayed. Maybe opening up the treasure chest wasn't a good idea after all. I guess it's how paper mario works.

Vivian's my favorite character by far, but goddamn, Admiral Bobbery's dialogue is absolutely top-notch. 💣❤
I agree. Bobbery is my personal favorite of all partners.
Bobbery is the classic English Gentleman but with attitude, one can expect his dialogue to be extremely well written.

Pretty great dialogue from all the partners.
Finished this game alongside the bf yesterday. His MVP of the playthrough was Vivian, due to a Power Lift + Fiery Jinx strat, which singlehandedly let him get through the latter half of the game without much trouble (and was the last attack that KO'd the Shadow Queen.)
Seeing Vivian in the ending hits really hard, especially considering that she was the sole reason Beldam's plan fell apart. All it took was one act of kindness for her to not only see who was really in the right during the story, but also for her to singlehandedly take down the same demon her sister was trying to summon. I love how she tells Mario that she believes in him right before he denies the Shadow Queen, which is just such a testament to how far she comes in the story as a character. ♥🔥

In spanish Flurries calls Mario “pichoncito” (little dove) and Peach “princesita” (Little princess) so its weird reading how generic she sounds in english
Vivian and Leshy (my Yoshi) are my fav companions.

If Vivian and the other Shadow Sirens were made by the Shadow Queen… shouldn’t Vivian remember who she is?? Why did she stay silent about Beldam’s plan?
This is a huge plot hole that goes overlooked… unless Beldam just held Vivian to such a low regard so as to not even explain to her why they’re doing all this in the long run.
Also… who would even want to have *Ms. Mowz* be used in the finale?? She makes the least impact out of any Partner that Mario uses.
By considering how bad Beldam treats Vivian, it's easy to say that she didn't say anything to Vivian. Another point would be why Vivian didnt tell Mario where grodus was. Not very worth to look into and just enjoy the game
It's implied vivian is kept out of the loop, with her not really knowing where they are when they get to the x naut fortress
Considering the shadow queen only acknowledges Beldam I think she's the only one who knew anything. Makes me think not even Marilyn was kept in the loop and just followed her sister

At this point they seem more like very close friends, rather than in any sort of proper relationship. If it was a proper relationship I think Mario wouldn't be so chill all the time.
Besides, Vivian seems to have a more genuine love for Mario than Peach does since he did so much for Vivian when her own sisters didn't. It's a shame that she never got to fully admit it...
And I'd say Peach doesn't deserve Mario. He has to save her ass every time something happens, and she doesn't exactly do all that much in return (outside of usually providing free heals in the final boss battle).
