    Just wanted to mention how awesome the SES (State Emergency Service) volunteers are. They are the people out there in the pouring rain cutting up trees that have fallen across roads and houses, not to mention volunteer fire brigade etc They have a pretty tough job, and do it for free on top of their normal work... ❤

      Yes! Good call! There has been talk of making it more like the fire and ambo services which is a good idea. Especially if it's a national thing then those who want to be full time can go wherever they're needed. Instead of being largely voluntary with f all funding. They do an exceptional job!

    I’m 5 hours inland from the coast and it quiet. Nobody bothers me. The only people I speak to regularly are the shopkeepers lol I live in a 5 bedroom house on a quarter acre block for $90k, it’s perfect lol

      And I live on the 13th floor of a CBD tower and I love skyscrapers, galleries, museums, theater's etc all within walking distance. We all have different ideas of what is perfection. Australia is wonderful for all of us to be able to live in our own version of our perfect paradise.

    Coming from Finland, in comparison the education here in Australia is not great. However, compared to other English speaking countries i understand its marginally better here in Oz. Uni is ridiculously expensive though. So that's my only opposition to their otherwise valid points.

    • @ingridclare7411
      @ingridclare7411 Год назад +5

      Yeah, Finland's education system is the best in the world. All your teachers must have master degrees. We stuffed up I reckon when we took on too much of Sweden's so called 'ideas'. We used to have a v good system . My hubby's a school teacher. Btw, he has a masters degree. Still its better than many others. Uni isn't as expensive as maybe you think, given the HECS HELP system for citizens and permanent residents. Don't have to start paying back the part the student owes until you earn around $45000. Student doesn't need to pay the whole lot. But for international students, yeah its expensive.

    • @artistjoh
      @artistjoh Год назад +1

      @@ingridclare7411 HECS means that many local people end up with uni debts of $100,000. By any definition, that is expensive. The only big difference for internationals is some institutions charge a premium and they have to pay it up front. But having a debt of tens of thousands of dollars is much the same as paying up front.

      Our system used to be much better than it is now, but unfortunately a decade of the LNP being in power meant a lot of funding cuts to the public system while the private schools pricks got given millions.
