Just wanted to mention how awesome the SES (State Emergency Service) volunteers are. They are the people out there in the pouring rain cutting up trees that have fallen across roads and houses, not to mention volunteer fire brigade etc They have a pretty tough job, and do it for free on top of their normal work... ❤
Yes! Good call! There has been talk of making it more like the fire and ambo services which is a good idea. Especially if it's a national thing then those who want to be full time can go wherever they're needed. Instead of being largely voluntary with f all funding. They do an exceptional job!
I’m 5 hours inland from the coast and it quiet. Nobody bothers me. The only people I speak to regularly are the shopkeepers lol I live in a 5 bedroom house on a quarter acre block for $90k, it’s perfect lol
And I live on the 13th floor of a CBD tower and I love skyscrapers, galleries, museums, theater's etc all within walking distance. We all have different ideas of what is perfection. Australia is wonderful for all of us to be able to live in our own version of our perfect paradise.
I live six hours drive from the coast, but I can afford my rent ($235/WK) of three bedroom house in tidy condition. Lots of people live inland, you just don't hear from them.
@@KarenFuchsbichler I grew up on the farm inland. I know the lifestyle well. I couldn't get out of the country fast enough, but my brothers are still there. It is not for me, but we can each enjoy the advantages of where we are, because all places do have their advantages.
It's great if your health is good and don't need regular specialist appts. Wish I could live out in the country where it's quiet, but unfortunately my disability prevents me.
@@dreamteamneal I was just coming to say my daughter who is a college student and has a casual barista job makes per hour $26 mon-Fri, $31 Weekends and $52 on public holidays.
America is still in the wild west, with its stupid gun culture.. and slavery with its pay. A Celebrity can be a Millionaire. But Doctors and Nurses can be homeless. It's a Fake Dump .
Coming from Finland, in comparison the education here in Australia is not great. However, compared to other English speaking countries i understand its marginally better here in Oz. Uni is ridiculously expensive though. So that's my only opposition to their otherwise valid points.
Yeah, Finland's education system is the best in the world. All your teachers must have master degrees. We stuffed up I reckon when we took on too much of Sweden's so called 'ideas'. We used to have a v good system . My hubby's a school teacher. Btw, he has a masters degree. Still its better than many others. Uni isn't as expensive as maybe you think, given the HECS HELP system for citizens and permanent residents. Don't have to start paying back the part the student owes until you earn around $45000. Student doesn't need to pay the whole lot. But for international students, yeah its expensive.
@@ingridclare7411 HECS means that many local people end up with uni debts of $100,000. By any definition, that is expensive. The only big difference for internationals is some institutions charge a premium and they have to pay it up front. But having a debt of tens of thousands of dollars is much the same as paying up front.
Our system used to be much better than it is now, but unfortunately a decade of the LNP being in power meant a lot of funding cuts to the public system while the private schools pricks got given millions.
Great reactions always Neal! 🙂 Yes, our government looks after our people .... because that is what they are elected for, looking after the people is the job of ALL governments. It's why governments exist. Cheers m8!
My superannuation is paying me a pension of $1000pw at the moment that is indexed twice yearly for inflation. This pension is for life. So I could be on this for the next 30 years until I’m 90+
ok so this is the good side try and have a look at our other side also. it isn't all beer and beaches here get caught on the wrong side and it can get real nasty fast. some areas are no go zones for tourists it is a lot like America I'm not saying we aren't great people but there is always a dark side to every country . and ours is quite up in your face if you look a certain way believe me i wish it were different but sadly it isn't most people you meet here would give you the shirt off their back without a second thought just try and look up all sides of the country .

When mentioning great wine regions how could they not mention the world class Barossa Valley. Arguably the best in Australia.
