In fairness, it’s generally considered next to impossible to make a faithful Mario live-action film with today’s movie technology, let alone the time this one was made. William Glover anybody who says the ghost busters 2016 is bad is a biased bigot. You can’t look at a movie and say just because the girls have taken the place of men it is bad. You have to look at the movie as if it was brand new.
Because the rest of the movie is some weird dystopian steampunk film that only has half-hearted references to Mario thrown in? It's not the worst movie but it ain't good..
@mally02 The thing is, you can say the same thing about basically every Mario game. They all have some incredulous thing with no basis in past games. A game where suddenly Mario's hat comes to life? Or where he turns into a cat? It's all nonsense start to finish, so treating an IP like Mario as if there's some sort of deep canon seems silly to me. It's not like Lord of the Rings where the world is rich and deep and established. It's a franchise literally meant to be contrived.
@@SeraphsWitness The lore is literally explained in the manuel of the first game. And they actually provide explanation for why Mario turns into a cat, or why his hat is alive. Sounds like somebody's never picked up a Mario game once.

This was clearly a shout out to how the enemies would "dance" to the music in NSMB. Pretty impressive how they would reference a game that wouldn't come out for another 15 years.
I love how the world tried to pretend this movie didn’t happen
Ah yes, that 90s alarm sound. I remember it from 007.
And SA2.
Why is it we can appreciate things a lot better years later? (Also the Goombas/Koopas dancing is hilarious)
Call me crazy but I think this film was more faithful to its source material than The Last Airbender (2010) was.
Sir, the Goombas are dancing again!
3:36 - “TEN HUT!!!” (Goombas snapped out of it) “ FORWARD MARCH!!!”
ATTENTION!
I don’t care what ppl say about this damn movie but I absolutely loved it as a kid & still do too this day
I remember this as a child, but watched it yesterday as an adult and appreciated the movie more! 😂
This is one of the best movies ever made, I don’t care about any other opinions, it’s a masterpiece
How the hell did you get a video of my ex-wife?
William Glover which one is your ex-wife?

@@davidsiler5505 she has something long for you
William Glover anybody who says the ghost busters 2016 is bad is a biased bigot. You can’t look at a movie and say just because the girls have taken the place of men it is bad. You have to look at the movie as if it was brand new.
1:48 Golden Eye memories are coming
Oh gosh I hated those cameras.
Amuki Producciones lol
I can’t for the life of me understand why this movie is so hated. This scene still cracks me up every time.
Because the rest of the movie is some weird dystopian steampunk film that only has half-hearted references to Mario thrown in? It's not the worst movie but it ain't good..
Because it's supposed to be Mario if it was its own unique movie I think people would like it alot more
@mally02 The thing is, you can say the same thing about basically every Mario game.
@@SavouryGalette oh don't be silly. The lore. Give me a break. The lore is BACKFILLED.
For goodness sake, they gave him overalls and a mustache in the original because it was easier to see in the limited amount of pixels in the arcade version of donkey Kong. The earliest design decisions have nothing to do with "lore". Mario lore is a ticky tacky joke. It can be literally whatever they want.
Don't insult me. I've been playing Mario since before you were born.
Despite this movie failing, I thought it was really good. The best scene is the reveal of them wearing their trademark colors, Mario in red, Luigi in green.
Calling it, in the sequel to the Illumination movie, there'll be a homage to this scene. Mario and Luigi will escape a pack of Boom-Booms by making them dance.
Who else here after the new movie was announced
It’s been announced since way back in 2018
I remember as a kid finding the Goombas scary. They're so big and tall, it's really tense and intimidating imagining if they were to notice Mario and Luigi
3:36- Attention!!! Forward, March!!!😂😂 make me laugh every time I watch this movie
This movie seemed like the concept of the Mario video games was described to the writers and director by a person with chronic schizophrenia.
That voice that Mario in this live-action is better voice than Chris Paul's voice
I don't know why but this scene is hilarious.
i know why.
I had a dream like this once. Wait that was a nightmare. I was on an underwater subway and they were normal sized dinosaur men
I know a lot of people really didn't like this movie but it was awesome childhood memories.
I've been humming this song to my daughter for the last 8 months since she's been born to get her to fall asleep and completely forgot I knew it from here until tonight when RUclips recommended the video to me.
What song is it?
The only thing good about this movie is the casting of Bob Hopkins as Mario
You'll be missed, Bob.
Seen here- Hollywood before the internet could collectively explode in outrage.
People are going to appreciate this movie for the masterpiece it was now with the crappy Illumination film.
It hasn’t even come out yet
"Masterpiece" implies this movie is worth more than about 1-2 stars!
Fuck you on about atleast they didnt have the abomination goombas atleast in the aniamted movie it will have normal goombas and have good mario voices then these 2
I haven't seen this movie in a long time , probably every since I was a kid , I used to watch it all the time !!
Sadly this movie was more of an origin story. If anyone actually watched it till the end they'd realize it was setup for a sequel that would have been much closer to the Mario we know and love
They look like someone took the head shrinking tool in Gmod, and used it on a predator
