I love your work! Super informational. I've run through all your Super 8 content to get ready for my new camera. Are you able to do a video or explain, shooting a roll of film and switching it out mid-roll for a different one. Say for example, a Kodak 50D to 200T due to lack of light and vice versa.
Yes! You’ll lose about 6 frames that will be exposed at the front of the cartridge, but that’s only a fraction of a second. Keep in mind that your cameras footage counter will reset though so you’ll have to keep track of your footage yourself!
Thanks for making this video. I am getting into super 8 myself right now. I was wondering how to set the sun and the lightbulb symbol after loading the film. Do I need to leave it always on the sun setting with the Kodak 50D and always on the lightbulb with 200T/500T? What do I need to think of before setting the sun/lightbulb dial?
Thanks for this video! How do you know when you’ve gone through all of the film in the cartridge? Just started shooting on a keystone XL304 and there’s no way to track it.
I just came across the Argus showmaster 870 camera projector. And I can't remember exactly how to set it up, I am doing something wrong and I can't find a manual for this anywhere on the whole internet. Have you done a video on this projector?
Hey do you know where to find a Kodak Duex 8 Cassette cartridge? I bought an old Kodak electric 8 zoom camera at vintage store in Italy and I'm trying to use it.
Not in my case either, what camera do you have? I have a Canon 814XL, the motor in my camera moves well at different fps, the window opens, and everything works correctly, in the end I discovered that pushing the cartridge hard from behind does transport the film, I hope it helps.@@reb10
the film length on my super 8 isnt working telling me how much film i have left ....but its running i marked with texter and working is this a major issue?
I have a new canon 514xl-s canonsound camera. And I wanted to load it, but the spinning motor in the middle doesn't spin and the dot that I drew on the film doesn't disappear. What do I have to do now?
I'm having issues figuring out how to load batteries into my bell and Howell filmsonic without the original battery pack that goes into the handle, any idea how to load batteries?
That's likely not a super 8 camera, but a regular 8 camera! All Super 8 cameras take the cartridges and if the camera doesn't then it takes regular 8mm that comes on rolls. You can get film like that here: filmphotographystore.com/collections/movie-film/regular-8
Thanks for the info! Really helpful:) Just need to know how to load the batteries for a side load Sound Super 8. Let me know thanks Edit: Nvm I found it! It’s in the handle lol Cool!
That particular camera is a Single-8 film camera, so be careful because it will not take Super 8 film! Single-8 is a fuji format that isn't widely made anymore so it is difficult to get film for. It's a topic I'm planning to tackle soon, but here's some more information on the format: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-8 super8wiki.com/index.php/Fujica_Z1
I just bought a canon auto zoom 814 super 8 and bought 50 outdated (1992) packs of film for €12,50, i dont know if these will still look good because they’re so old but im going to give it a try anyways
That is likely not a Super 8 camera, but actually a Regular 8 camera and it takes Regular 8mm film. This should tell you all you need to know: ruclips.net/video/VdU9u-uqCJE/видео.html You can purchase film here: filmphotographyproject.com/
I have a sankyo super 8 video camera like yours but mine say super 800 I need my pistol grip repaired it is just cracked because it’s obv made out of plastic do you know of anywhere they repair this ?
Unfortunately I don't. Super 8 camera repair isn't a very popular skill and usually when these cameras break they break for good. If it's something like that where it's plastic, maybe there's a chance you could tackle it yourself, or even work around it if the rest of the camera is fine.
I don!g know why the old cathode Ray TVs don!f sell, especially with old consoles players. I am struggling about whether to sell the old Gaf super 8 film camera and projector, but wang it to be enjoyed. Even if there is a market, I can’t be sure if it is in good enough shape. Are there general places that can examine these cams?
All Super 8 cameras will take these cartridges, I believe what you're looking for is information about Regular 8mm: ruclips.net/video/VdU9u-uqCJE/видео.html
Why don’t anyone show where the batteries are on the Minolta autopak s3? Bin looking at hundreds of videos and kno one does a good job of showing where the battery is!
This is awesome! I just found a Minolta auto zoom 8 and this was super helpful!
That’s so funny! My first super 8 roll came today! Gonna shoot it on vacation this summer!

im going to sound really ignorant but can you switch out super 8 film packs mid way through shooting?
Yes! You’ll lose about 6 frames that will be exposed at the front of the cartridge, but that’s only a fraction of a second. Keep in mind that your cameras footage counter will reset though so you’ll have to keep track of your footage yourself!

I think the dial is for the T series stock films. Using T film outdoor with the SUN dial marking.

Please make a video about single 8
I got a bell and Howell that takes cartridges. Nice working camera but don’t know where to get em or if I have to load it myself

Hey do you know where to find a Kodak Duex 8 Cassette cartridge? I bought an old Kodak electric 8 zoom camera at vintage store in Italy and I'm trying to use it.
What would you do if the film wasn’t moved through the camera and the dot remained in the same place?
I'm having the same issue, did you find a solution?
@@delmoralmb I’m afraid not, sorry - the obvious reason would be a faulty motor but that’s not it in my case

So up to now, there is no way to record sound at same time ? Or is Kodak will redo magnetic sound film also ? thanks

A question, so if you run put of battery you can open the camera and change it at any time and the film material will be ok?
Yes it will be okay, you may lose a couple of frames but that only equates to a fraction of a second of footage!
@@AnalogResurgence thanks!!!!

Is anyone interested in bentley bx 11 super 8 home movie projector and bentley bx 720 super 8 movie camera never used still in boxes
How many super 8 cameras do you have 😂
Working Super8 cameras are WAY overpriced now. One either pay lotto with flea market and Ebay cameras, or pay up. This balloon will bust.
