Not everyone can. That's all I want. I have physical and mental health problems, and nobody wants anything to do with me. I'm 41, have a background of trauma since childhood, including rape and abuse, I contracted HIV from a rape 12 years ago. I've had depression and anxiety since childhood, and have major problems with my teeth from bulimia, which people find disgusting when they find out, and it can't be fixed. Gay men are shallow. Most men won't accept me because of my HIV, the people with HIV won't accept me because of my mouth. I've tried and tried, and can no longer be rejected. I'm kind and decent, and am good company, and that means I'm lucky enough to have friends. But I will never have a relationship, and I don't want to carry on in such misery. It's not true that there is someone for everyone. I will die alone.
Been there and done that and it’s not for me. People aren’t cookie cutter things that all want or do the same things. It might be what you want, but it’s not what everyone wants or needs.

You can also meet gay men doing volunteer work. Most communities have service organizations for the gay community. So, not only will you meet men who have similar interests, you'll be helping your community as well.

What if the type of guy you like is a normal guy who just likes to chill at home and isn't obsessed with bars, or clubs or social media? I have chronic fatigue and I can't keep up with a high maintenance man who always wants to go out.
There are a lot of quiet gays out there! I hate the whole gay scene and much prefer a quiet night in with a herbal tea 😂
I`ve had chronic fatigue for 15 years. Went on a full carnivore diet .6 weeks into it my life turned around......100% improvement......I slowly start adding veggies, then fruit in moderation....,the moment I add sugar or carbs I know that I know.....don`t do this again. Maybe this will help ?

I met a ton of awesome gay men when I joined the gay men chorus here in MN. It’s a breath of fresh air knowing that when I met these people it’s not about sex or things like that. I’d recommend joining any LGBTQ focus groups in your community.

This is very true. I've joined local LGBTQ meetup groups and it is a great way to meet new friends in your area. The vast majority of people I've met through these groups are great and are also just out to meet other local gays in the area in a safe, non-sketchy environment.

I met my last bf on scruff, it was just something casual that turned serious. We lasted over two years, but at the time I wasn’t very good at maintaining relationships so we split up. I met a lot of guys in the meatpacking district at brunches, on the roof at the Ganesvoort in New York City. I met people at museums, art shows, I even took a cooking course once and met a guy. You have to be out there to meet someone, no one does guy deliveries…well I mean they do, but that’s an entirely different conversation.

I don't see the topic here so I'll bring it up. It's called AGEISM. At your age you probably have never experienced that and with your handsome looks, I seriously doubt you have a emotional concept of this fact within the Gay culture. Unfortunately AGEISM is a fact of life. I first experienced this at age 27. I thought I was hot, sexy and cute at age 27, but NOT to all thought so! I was 'getting up there' in age. Yes. Seriously. So the first problem in relationships is trying to get over that prejudice. Mostly impossible though. Ever notice all the attractive SINGLE men out there that seem to always be running through men like toilet paper? Relationships are hard because men are not taught how to connect emotionally with other men. They can have sex, but lack emotional availability. Look Thomas. You're young. Very good looking with model-like looks. But you won't have it forever. Looks fade even with the best care. The 'youthful and hot model look' starts fading after 30. Then what? The time to begin questioning needs and wants begins in the early 20's. Successful relationships take honestly and hard work.

Tommy, you gave lots of great suggestions. I used to be part of a group here in Chicago where twice a month you would meet a differet group and go to dinner at a local restaurant. The thought was that no one was paired up in advance so it made it more relaxing and a lttle less intimidating. I met friends through this and had alot of fun. It was great getting to meet a different group of guys twice a month. The organizers disbanded the idea after a while but I thought it was a great way to meet guys.

As a much much oldere gay man I would also add Libraries in general ! are a good place to not only check out excellent Reading materials...but to meet other gay men. Why> Because gay men Read more than many men do !! lol Your tip on University and colleges groups is also excellent. You often DO want to meet up with other genuinely intelligent people, after all !
You can generally meet them, but getting them to want more than a quickie is practically impossible.
Only dating was never for me, but I started to think it would be the only way to get a boyfriend. Thanks to this video, I now know other ways to possibly meet mr.right.

ok let’s say i go to a gay bar. i’m not outgoing enough just to talk to complete strangers! if i see someone i like i just get intimidated. in the past when ive gone i usually just end up talking to women who happen to be there. it’s frustrating cuz i know im only holding myself back.

The problem with all these apps are that the profiles are often of people trying to get money, images are phoney and so are the people. posting them.

I hope this is the right video for this comment. You made comment that there aren't a lot of non-white men on Instagram...however, my experience is the opposite. I rarely had a white guy ever show up on my list. They're almost always Hispanic and I don't know why that happened but I'm sure glad it did. I find them incredibly sexy. Not that I don't like white guys or Europeans they're just rarely presented to me on IG or X for that matter.
