On July 28, 1967, we went to see the Doors at the Fillmore Auditorium. We wanted to hear "Light My Fire" and "Crystal Ship" but what we got instead was "When the Music's Over," a song none of us had ever heard before. It totally blew us away."
I just finished a book on the the Doors. It is on Amazon now, a 4 1/2 year effort. "Some Are Born to Endless Night: Jim Morrison, Visions of Apocalypse and Transcendence." It explores the revolutionary philosophies behind his song lyrics.

Forgive the one's that weren't there or never saw them, I heard Light My Fire on my first day as a freshman in HS. It had just been released. Saw them for FREE in Golden Gate Park. L.A. also, was lucky enough to grow up close to The City. These 4 guys changed music and for the better.

I was a Kid around 10 when they used to practice in a garage 2 houses down the street from my parents. Me and my friends use to check out there bad ass cars while they played and partyed.
