Such variations in John's fills in his drumming starts at a fast tempo then the slow wind down, then back again as the car speeds off again what brilliance, he was such an underated Drummer, really kept the tempo going in the Doors.

I have always been rock’n’roll kinda girl, grew up listening to my dad’s records but, somehow, always overlooked The Doors, thinking they were too depressive. I’ve just discovered them this year, at the age of 31. OMG THEY ARE THE BEST. I am a bit late... but better late than never.
Make sure you also listen to Moody Blues, Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Heart, Pink Floyd (I got to play bass, drums & keyboards with them in 1994), Christopher Cross, Bob Segar, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Winger

just turned 78 this month and still listening to this great song ! reminds me of my youth in L.A. once in Paris we tried to find Jim Morrison's tomb in the Pere Lachaise cemetery where lots of celebrity are buried, but we left because it was too creepy.
Bn a couple of times to Jim's grave.... He's buried right side / middle of graveyard but I bought a map for like 2 Francs off a local! Definitely creepy!
Oh wait, Morrison's listening to a report that he died in Paris, driving his Mustang in uhm LA...uh right.☮️ Ya gotta love the man, weatha he live or dead.
I’m 48 and my mom would be 75. I used to love it when she listened to this because It meant she was stoned, and she sung to the cats and she was really nice cooking and cleaning! They still are the best

In my opinion, this is the greatest rock song in history. Personifies LA, a city I grew up in, in ways you couldn't with another city in the world. Yes, you had Scott McKenzie's about San Francisco, and Sinatra sang about New York,, but there never will be a song like LA Woman...
@@Biden_is_dementedA bit ignorant of you to say what Jim Morrison would think of girls from LA, 50 years after his death, You don't know what he would think dude so don't presume
Firstly, the editing of this video to the music is BRILLIANT. The music of the Doors is as relevant now as ever, with many fans who were not even conceived yet when Jim Morrison departed. As much as everyone would have wished to see him stick around, he did things on his own terms. The only Jim Morrison that exists is the one in this video, forever young and in the prime of his days.

His voice was complex, wide range and he didn't spare himself. When I listen to covers of Doors songs, many singers have problems, especially when he screams while singing. Not many can do that “get out” like this. Especially when I listen to the LA Woman album with all of its studio sessions. Morrison's voice was of course rougher than before, but what full volume and control he had despite singing at the limit. Wtf You have to be totally relaxed and at the same time let it all out to get close to it.
Damn The Doors ,classic kick ass rock.Jims vocals are so good he had such a unique style and sound, couple that with the band and it’s incredible.Greatness never gets old.🔥
This song is magnificence. One of the dozen or so rock songs that elevate rock and roll to high art. And confirms again Jim Morrison's place among the very best rock singers. Or so says I.
Yes and 2 months after that (7/3/71) he would die. Little did he know just how prophetic was the video showing him hearing of his own death on the am radio while driving...haunting
Amazing, 50 years ago , in another 50 we’ll be dead and gone and the youngsters will be reading this thinking about how awesome it must of been to alive back then. If they only knew or had any idea what true freedom was , man oh man.
26 years old and I can't think of jamming to anything else. Jim Morrison is just an absolute legend...the only thing that makes me want to be born earlier is the music and vibes of those days💪🏾
I've heard this song a zillion times, loving it every time and just discovered the little hidden gem Jim put in L.A. Woman: Mr Mojo Risin - unscramble the anagram and you get - Jim Morrison- so cool he left that little surprise even if it's been over 50 yrs for me to know it lol
Perfect intro! I was raised on the Doors, by my beloved father, and he maintained Jim didn't die in Paris- he split the rock scene and left to write poetry and live undisturbed.

Got to meet Morrison's family back in 07 when his dad was in the Navy hospital ward. He was my patient, as a Corpsman. Admitted him, talked with him and his sister. Such a beautiful and fun family. I remember the dad saying that his son is alive and the sister laughed. Guess he was joking lol. People asked him that a lot I suppose.

Such a well done video. Always loved the beginning when Jim hears about his own death on the radio, and tunes it out. He just says eff it and keeps driving into the sunset. Love the featured cars too. 1970 Challenger R/T and Mustang GT500 are so badass. All around excellent job whoever made this!
I thought that was a challenger! By far my fave muscle car! My friend had one a 1978 or 79, cherry red with black convertible top 357? Engine, race car. I loved riding down to Santa Cruz in it going to an Eddie Money concert and sleeping on the state beach there. Not exactly legal. Even in 79 but very fun and comfortable
Listening to this on April 22, 2023. Great music is timeless. Even though Jim left his physical form in July 1971, he still is very much among us in one form or another. He just broke on through to the other side, like he always talked about. APRIL WAS HERE ON APRIL 22, 2023 AT 8:50 AM. WE STILL LOVE YOU, JIM. MAY YOU CONTINUE TO BE IMMORTAL.
...at AGE 73 I still listen to this song many times a year along with all the music in my era (60's70's) which IMHO was the "Greatest Musical Renaissance" of all time! Being a self taught guitar player from age 14 my music preference credo is simply this, "IF YOU CAN'T PLAY IT LIVE, I DON'T REALLY CARE TO HEAR IT!"
From the opening line "well I did get inta town about an hour ago" followed by Robbie Kriegers guitar, you're hooked. To me the best song about L.A. or any other city for that matter. Brilliant concept, the city being a woman, the woman being the city. Excellent production and pace of song with changes throughout. Almost like a short story and not a song. Great imagery:"I see her hair is burning......" "Motel money, murder madness" "Ridin down your freeway, midnight alleys roam". Outstanding lyric and music.
Lol. NO! Look up the lyrics. "WELL I DID GET INTO TOWN ABOUT AN HOUR AGO". The lyrics are the lyrics. They arent what you want them to be.They are what they are!
Really a fan made video? Literally this is the best experience i have with The Doors, listening to this song on a Friday afternoon watching this movie, enjoying the silence of the moment. Beauty

This is LA and the unknown open road combined together in one song.
It’s sad there has to be a swan song but if there’s got to be one, there’s no better one to go out on than this.
Rest in peace Jim and Ray. Keep trucking John and Robbie. The greatest band to hail from America.
Genius.🙏❤️🎼🎵.x
That intro never gets old, love Jim's voice, he can take it to many levels, one of the best songs / album there is. Perfection.
This song hits a 50 year anniversary this year. Happy half a century!

Exactly @paco!... Jim's attempts to sound like a black bluesman were successful...😊
oops wrong thread
Such variations in John's fills in his drumming starts at a fast tempo then the slow wind down, then back again as the car speeds off again what brilliance, he was such an underated Drummer, really kept the tempo going in the Doors.
I have always been rock’n’roll kinda girl, grew up listening to my dad’s records but, somehow, always overlooked The Doors, thinking they were too depressive. I’ve just discovered them this year, at the age of 31. OMG THEY ARE THE BEST. I am a bit late... but better late than never.
Make sure you also listen to Moody Blues, Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Heart, Pink Floyd (I got to play bass, drums & keyboards with them in 1994), Christopher Cross, Bob Segar, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Winger
haha, I have been a Led Zeppelin fan since 2007! They are my fav band ever. I also love Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Moody Blues, Janis, Ray Charles... But Scorpions, Def Leppard and Whitesnake are not my cup of tea 😅

just turned 78 this month and still listening to this great song ! reminds me of my youth in L.A. once in Paris we tried to find Jim Morrison's tomb in the Pere Lachaise cemetery where lots of celebrity are buried, but we left because it was too creepy.
Bn a couple of times to Jim's grave.... He's buried right side / middle of graveyard but I bought a map for like 2 Francs off a local!
Definitely creepy!
Creepy?
There were rows & rows of mausoleums + eerily deserted of people
Seeing Jims grave in Paris was a memorable experience...surreal. what an incredible talent.
I visited Duane and Berry at Rose Hill Cemetery. Went by myself. Took me a while to find them. Also saw Elizabeth Reed's gravesite...
Oh wait, Morrison's listening to a report that he died in Paris, driving his Mustang in uhm LA...uh right.☮️ Ya gotta love the man, weatha he live or dead.

In my opinion, this is the greatest rock song in history. Personifies LA, a city I grew up in, in ways you couldn't with another city in the world. Yes, you had Scott McKenzie's about San Francisco, and Sinatra sang about New York,, but there never will be a song like LA Woman...
Driving through LA with a clutch now is pure hell
If Jim saw the L.A. women of today, he would puke. Then he would ask for a Dos Equis and a shot of Cuervo, and piss on the counter.
L.A. sucks regardless of the brilliant music by The Doors and others. (RHCP for instance)
I've lived in 4 metropolitan cities. Los Angeles is in my BONES.
@@Biden_is_dementedA bit ignorant of you to say what Jim Morrison would think of girls from LA, 50 years after his death,

RIP good old times. Never come again this powerful style....
Agree. This is a beautifully edited video.
Jim Morrison has the absolute best voice ever for rock & roll.

Absolutely totally agree, he left us to soon but his music with the Doors will live on 🎸🎶🦅🙏❤️
His voice was complex, wide range and he didn't spare himself.

Even in 79 but very fun and comfortable

...at AGE 73 I still listen to this song many times a year along with all the music in my era (60's70's) which IMHO was the "Greatest Musical Renaissance" of all time!
The first line is "well I did a little down about an hour ago".
Did a little down an hour ago: heroin
