That Set Trigger System is genius. I'm surprised that option/technology hasn't been utilized for other modern firearms to this day. Very unique and cool
I served over 50 years ago in the BW with the Paratrooper version. 1 Friend of mine from Norway served also over 50 years ago in the Telemark Batallion as a Sniper. They had this G3-SG1, they trained on 800 meter distance. He said this rifle was very accurate. Treue um Treue
Great video. I'd love to see a history/ armorer operator video for the G3 platform. I'm sure there's a ton of history and design surrounding it that I've never heard before. Keep up the great work man
For a second, I thought Billy Zane also carried one in Sniper with Tom Berenger, but it was a different variation of the HK G3/91/PSG Hollywood hybrid thing.
Oh sweet christ, any rifle caliber roller lock I’m a fiend for. Great video as always James. I’d love to see you do an in depth video on the G3 as used by the Cold War and modern Bundeswehr
Do you happen to know the technical reason behind why the G3, MP5 and HK33 were given both magazine release paddles as well as the button on the right side that does the same thing? I have always wondered this. Thanks.
Can you tell me if there will ever be a chance of an H&K 91 ever being produced again? I bought 3 in the mid ‘80’s for $695 each and traded like a dumbA!!! So many past regrets!! Thank you for your info and videos!
Hi, I have a question. Why is the charging handle requires me so much strength to open? Charging is easy, but opening the charging handle is so difficult. Is it always like this?
@@teufelshundtactical oh by the way. I'm not sure if my question was a little bit confusing, but I meant unfolding the charging handle before locking it back. I was at my local gun store doing function check, and could not pry the charging handle out. the dude there had to use his palm to slam the charging handle to make it unfolds. is it that difficult to unfold? someone told me the gun I was holding might have some problem like non-matching parts.

The SG-1 series is most Excellent..
Those are definitely something you don’t get to see too often. Very impressive trigger group

Amazing trigger engineering… seems like H&K have always been unique and ahead of their time. Thanks for sharing another example of H&K excellence!

Love your videos and educational factor I pick up from them because I’m heavily into H&K firearms
I do believe Seal Team 6 carried one of these during the invasion of Grenada. 🤔
Great video, would love a in depth video of the PSG-1. Got to shoot one the other day and I am in love with the design.
For a second, I thought Billy Zane also carried one in Sniper with Tom Berenger, but it was a different variation of the HK G3/91/PSG Hollywood hybrid thing.
Yes, the HK SR-9T, the "hunting version" of the PSG-1/MSG-90, or this.

Is the optical range of the HK MSG90 rifle is 1200 meters ?
Kinda surprised that no one ever tried to clone that trigger group for civilian market
Thank you.
one of my favorite rifles, the g3 and the kar98 are my dream guns to own while my brothers are mg42 fans
Do you happen to know the technical reason behind why the G3, MP5 and HK33 were given both magazine release paddles as well as the button on the right side that does the same thing? I have always wondered this. Thanks.
The push button was thought to be perfectly adequate, but the paddle was added for cold weather use (heavy gloves/mittens).
Great video, they are pretty accurate. I wasn't a big fan of the trigger however, the PSG being much more straight forward to use.
PSG1 video soon?

Not by H&K, but Century is about to release the weapon made by MKE in Turkey. It’s the closet thing you can get to the HK91.
@@teufelshundtactical thank you!
Do you have a hk msg90 rifle ?
Does the set trigger system have to be reset after each shot?
Yes, as you will see in the video, you have to depress the set tab first. Pulling the trigger releases it, requiring it to be resets again.
what kind of scope is this ?
Does the set trigger work even in the fully automatic position?
No, semi-auto only for safety reasons.
Hi, I have a question. Why is the charging handle requires me so much strength to open? Charging is easy, but opening the charging handle is so difficult. Is it always like this?
It requires “man strength”, but should not be overly difficult.
@@teufelshundtactical thank you for the response. I thought it was because the gun was a PTR

@@hoppinggnomethe4154 Not normal.
@@teufelshundtactical another question, is reloading the G3 in safe as easy as in semi?
Wish PTR made a clone of the SG1 series or at least the trigger pack.
Hahaha
G3K DMR is very interesting, used by German police, not sure anyone else used it.
Love to see some hundred yard groups with that rifle
What is above it with the integral grip?
You’ll have to be more specific.
@@teufelshundtactical Above the g3sg1 sorry meant stock grip
@@420smokeymcpot Are you referring to the weapon above the G3/SG1 on the wall?
Cover the G3K!
