433 is one of the most interesting new guns out there for me! A blend of G3 and G36 for easy training transition with all the modern designs, paddle mag release, folding stock, and being a bit lighter than the 416! It's a pity and weird why it didn't win over the 416A8 in the Bundeswher trials... (Not that I dislike the 416. Having shot one it felt good. But 433 just makes more sense unless it costs more than 416)
I think the main reason for the HK416 is that france also adopted it so maybe that could be a bigger advantage logistically and also might end up being cheaper overall. Don't get me wrong the 433 would def be nicer if it stands the test of time but I also think that the 416 is being selected because it's widely in use and has proven itself.
Germany, the Netherlands and france basically agreed to field ar15 pattern rifles for interchangeable mags and Accessoires as well as similar handling and maintenance. It is also expected for other European countries, especially those who are NATO members will follow this trend and adopt similar rifles (Estonia for example contracted an LMT rifle, and Norway uses the 416)
As far as I know the 416 performed slightly better during testing than the 433, but considered as far as I know again there is still some development done to the 433, so it could end up as the better rifle. As others said already I think the biggest reason is that allies are using the 416 as well and in the apparently wish scenario of the responsibles in case of an incident if Germans and French etc. would fight side by side soldiers could use the equipment of allies with next to no adjustment needed. Of course I hope we won't ever have to actually use these rifles the 433 would have been cooler though.
Thanks, first time I have seen inside HK433, it's very simple, very easy to maintain and to learn to operate it, it should be adopted by militaries and sold on commercial market
I just can't get enough of it, but as I see behind you there is a still lot more to come . I like your in depth videos but this short ones are gold. Always pleasure.
interesting, it's definitely more of a G36 and 416 mix than i'd have thought, having a paddle mag release is pretty darn great though definitely getting the civilian one, provided that ever comes out

Think this is the first time the disassembly as been on the interweebs. Neat offering, hope HK does well with them *cough* US commercial version *cough*
Recoil impulse gotta be more jumpy since it’s polymer. Probably might be so jumpy that it might make one miss the weight of the extra aluminum and buffer tube.
Great video! One of the very few about the 433 and for sure the only one that disassemblies it. BTW; not oly they have merged the best of the G36 and 416 but also the CETME-G3 features like the charging handle style and half of its fixed piston (because the other half looks like AK style to me). Also ¿is it made of polymer or milled or stamped material or a combination of them?(because Larry Vickers showed it on ShotShow 2018 but if i remember correctly they didnt go into detail when showing it)
@john Carlos Other than pre-1994 rifles, Type 7 FFL's can order a pistol version and then make it into and 'other firearm' if it's not offered by manufacturer specifically as an other. But if not that, no dice...and by that time the cost is so high....
@john Carlos again, price is less of a concern as legal compliance in my state. Do they even offer it as a pistol? They have yet to even offer a civilian version, yes?
@@teufelshundtactical The scar is a painful thing from a design perspective. It is filled with choices to make mass production cheaper, but those choices took away from the feel and functionality of the rifle. The lesson is that you should optimize your rifle for use rather than for economics of scale in production. For there to a point in making a rifle that is cheap to produce in the millions you first need to make a rifle that millions want to use. FN seems to have forgot that part during the design phase.
