The past has shown, that almost every call for proposals was written in a way that only HK could deliver. (Very obvious the last time when the HK123 was introduced as the MG4.) So yeah HK can be 99% sure they will be the ones to deliver.

The HK433 is def. the most awesome modern gas-piston assault-rifle in my eyes. Afaik, Heckler & Koch is able to produce it in a bunch of different calibers (5.56x45mm NATO, 7.62x51mm NATO, .300 BLK, 7.62x39mm AK and maybe even others in the future) at a comparable "low price" (xD) with an integrated round-counter (interesting for military and LE). It combines all the best from the G36K A3 and the HK416 A5 - extreme reliability (especially in sandy, muddy and hot environments), light weight, foldable buttstock, high attachment modularity, interchangeable AR-parts like the charging-handle, pistol grips etc., the ability to use a high variety of modern magazines like the H&K polymer magazine, PMAGS, STANAG steel-magazines, 60-round magazines, the possibility to quick swap the barrel with a cold bolt and to interpret the rifle for each shooter individually, doesn't matter if the operator was used to the G36 or the HK416. I'd not say it's a revolution, but it sets a new reference for this type of rifles. Perfection would be a civilian version for the US- and German market but that's highly debatable thanks to the stupid German export- and US import-laws.

And each state within the EU has it's own firearm law (so how to buy, shoot etc.) and when it comes to that, Germany is kinda strict, but still has around 7 million legal firearms (like pistols, AR-15 etc.) - compared to 245 million legal firearms in the USA it's like nothing, obviously but it's almost as much as Canada has and for European standards it's okay.

I think this rifle interesting. I think that if compared by people in the US most would agree that the gun at its base seems to be a slight step back to the G36. By that I mean the ergos seem to be reverting to the not-as ambi and streamlined G3, with the forward swept charging handle instead of the top centered one that can swing either way. That and the mag release is no longer a combo AR-style button and paddle style, but rather just the paddle. I’m sure they addressed the issues of zero drift seen with the G36, but it makes you wonder if the Bundeswehr requested the new system revert to the Original HK ergos.
No point in even asking if or when it's coming to the civilian market lol. I do believe it's more political and the German Government than it is Hk, could be wrong. Doesn't change that "that" is one cool looking piece of hardware.
German government is only concerned about weapons sold to militaries, law enforcement and the like in foreign nations. If HK wants a semi auto civilian version of this on the US market, they are free to do so.

They cannot manufacture semi-auto G36s and MP7s in a US factory, their guns are patented in Germany and the German government won't release the design for production abroad.
That is their business model. They have so much work from military clients they don't have much time to work for civilian market. Also civilian market is hard, because client will either cry that its too expensive, or cry that its not made solid enough :D
I like this design over the G36 family but this will never be better than the beautiful mix of German engineering and and American craftsmanship of the AR-15 found in the HK416.
This is what the Norwegian army uses. I used it for a year during my conscription. I don't have many comparisons personally, but they say it's overall very good.

With Remington & Bushmaster doing the ACR? I doubt it had a chance to be half what it could have been. Even for the civilian market, they had a large price tag & less than half the promised stuff. I’m curious what Magpul thinks of how they handled it.
It's nothing mor ethan a myth that AKs are reliable. They were compared to the first M16 rifles which where described as "self cleaning" during vietnam war.

Looks like the best features of several different rifles, I will say the ambi safety selector looks like it might dig into your trigger finger tho.
