    • @mariuslorson751
      @mariuslorson751 5 лет назад +19

      @cantquit1109
      1) HK wanted to export to the US but Clinton and Bush senior threw big wrenches into their works.
      2) There are problems at HK, driving them into the red:
      -The old managment is going to retire soon and the guys they have brought in to replace them still think that the weapons industry is like the car industry (from which they stem). So they try to turn the weapons manufacture into something akin to the car production (aka they are rebuilding the damn plant&factory, which is an insane money sink).
      -There are fewer and fewer people who get a weapons maker license in Germany. That is not only due to the insanely small salaray such people earn in Germany but also because it is kind of illegal. German law states that the manufacture of weapons of war (and HK products are classes as such) is illegal in Germany and anyone who violates that law can be jailed up to two years. So far the goverment has chosen not to enforce that law but has used it as a tool against weapons manufacturers on several occasions. No one wants to work with such a damocles sword hanging above them. So getting new workers has proven to something of a problem. The HK plant in Oberndorf has around 800 people working there but could take a compliment of 1200 people for full production.
      3) The situation in Baden-Würrtemberg (where HK is located) is kinda problematic: it has been under Green goverment and these guys have a hateboner for HK and have blocked them on every turn. HK wanted to build better infrastructure for their main plant (if you have ever been in Oberndorf - the plant is like 5km up a steep mountainside from the trainstation and main road of Oberndorf. HK wanted to build better infrastructure and got blocked.) That is not good for the company, because you only can realy work for them if you have a car, since public transportation there is so bad.
      4) The whole shit thing of the German goverment creating the so called G36 scandal, which turned out to be a big nothing burger, damaged the rep HK had with the public and they get to feel the heat of that as well. Furthermore the goverment officially is limiting the sale of small arms and other weapons to other nations (well they say they do but vehicles get sold anyway... while they try to enforce the limit of sales on small arms [and fail due to lobbyists but that is not a good look for HK either. Not after the whole Mexico thing]).
      5) HK can't manouvre freely because it is not known who controlls the majority of the stock. Though it is roumored that the German goverment actually holds a lot of HK stock and thus can jerk them around even more. But that is just a rumor. Anyways: whoever holds the majority of the stock has been jerking HKs leash realy hard and made some seriously bad decisions in the last couple of years.
      So yeah - more engagement on US civilian market would fill the orders up even more, but that would not solve the problems back at home. Get rid of those and then we can talk. As much as I love HK (I grew up near Oberndorf) I fear they will go belly up - at least in Europe and then try to migrate over to the US for good. If that will save them or if that move even will be allowed I don't know. No matter what happens: it will be bad for the region. HK has 800 people working on site and at least another 4000 in other companies that supply the Oberndorf plant. That makes it one of the biggest providers of workplaces in the region.

      Yup. Went shooting with my buddies after I picked up my first ar10 and they all had ar15’s. I told them yeah I got an ar10 and they were like don’t ya mean 15?? I said no sir. This is .308 not those bb’s you got in your ar15. Anyways we were shooting at some watermelons and their 5.56’s were chipping pieces off and when I finally had a turn my .308 turned the watermelons into mist and chunks went everywhere. They were like damn that’s a real bullet lol I’ll never go back. And we were shooting tannerite too my .308 would blow it up even if it barely grazed the container of tannerite but the 5.56’s wouldn’t ignite it unless it was dead center.

    Since these are unattainable in the USA, I bought a SCAR 17 and then a like new 16.5 inch barrel assembly. I E-formed the SCAR as an SBR then had the 16.5 inch barrel cut down to 12 inches and changed the gas port out to 1.60mm. I was trying to mimic the 12 inch HK assaulter while still keeping the ability to switch barrel lengths for longer range shooting. The gun is a beast and loves to eat M80 ball ammo. Also shoots 1 MOA at 100 yards, but I still need to find a place to shoot the SCAR Assaulter out past 200 yards. Eotech Exps and G3 magnifier are the optics I went with, and the thing weighs 8.5 pounds fully loaded. I have a Sandman K that has been in NFA jail for 9 months now, but it should be mine soon. I wish HK would sell these in America and make a civilian version of the MP7. They would make a ridiculous amount of money if they did.

    Just bought a beautiful Springfield Armory M1A Scout. It too is in 7.62x51 mm NATO (.308 Win.) . Can reach out to 500+ yards easily and is reliable, rugged, extremely accurate, and powerful. It weighs 9.3 lbs and the weight helps absorb the recoil. You can put whatever you want on it, non-proprietary. American made, far more affordable than the HK. I slipped an Harris bipod and a Leupold 2.5x28 Scout scope that I had on my Marlin 85-70. Out-of-the-box, an M1A rifle can shoot accurately up to 200 yards with less than 1 MOA in the right hands. I zeroed mine to 100 yards, and for longer shots I just raise the crosshairs. The Germans can keep their over-priced bratwurst launcher.

    Greetings from Germany - those HK's aren't what they used to be... but there is is an alternative for a german piston driven AR10 derivate: the Haenel CR308 - pretty much the same but it takes ar10 mags for example, uses a real key mod system on the hand guard and it's a little bit less expensive - If it's available in the US, PLEASE try this one! They are soo much better imho. Btw the new german army sniper rifle is a haenel now ;)
    Allzeit Glück ab! from a german para

    • @philippanders6161
      @philippanders6161 5 лет назад +2

      U are so wrong, this Haenel Stuff uses Stainless Steel Barrels, instead of carbon Steel... Even these barrels are also hammerforged like the HK ones, its still STAINLESS!!! And Stainless sucks in durability!!! Well made hammerforged carbon steel barrel with chrome lines (for max. corrosion and heat transfer) or nitride (less corrosion resistance, harder, kinda same equal lifetime if done well) is the way to go for a military/civilian semi/fully automatic... The Haenel is not combat proven and just because a BOLT ACTION Gun is introduced to the german SOF in .338 Lapua, doesen't mean they can make good Semi Automatics?! Or is Barret the best AR Manufacturer just because they have the M82?! No! The funny thing is, the german SOF doesn't even want the Haenel! They wanted the Accuracy AX338 but the Haenel won because of politics! So, the HK platform is the way better gun. I still have my MR308 A3, had a SIg 716 (Crap!!!!) and compared my MR308A3 (16,5" complete Rifle and 13" Upper) to my buddys Haenel CR308... MR308 A3 with chrome lined Barrel 13" and 16,5" shoots sub MOA on 100 Meters with Lapua Scenar and RUAG Swiss P+, Haenel just 1,5 MOA, the bullet speed measured on 5m Distance out of my 13" Upper equals the bullet speed out if the Haneles 16,5" Barrel! (HP Barrels are tapered, gaining more gas pressure....) The Barrel heats up way faster on the Haenel (Stainless...) in comparison with HK (Both have Similar barrel profile) and the recoil and weight are quiet equal... Just disadvantages on the Haenel, no reason buying it... The worst thing is barrel lifetime, if you are a shooter (not a collector or persons who is not shooting a lot like 99,9% of all german competetion shooters or hunters!), you have to go with the HK! Why do they use a properitory HKey instead of keymod? -> Not because they hat you! They do it, because KEYMOD SUCKS for MILITARY use! With Keymod its possible to lock the mounting device just half the way, so it can be loose itself while carrying! Thats why Keymod got obsolete and MLOK took place. So HK decided to improve Keymod for military use (HKey, compre it to keymod and u see why its better) and with their own system, they keep quality control in house! HK equals 100% Quality and nothing less, so yeah I can understand why they did. And the question why they just choose MLOK instead? ITS MAGPUL, ever heard of Patents??? And do you know how expensive liscensing can be? I mean HK sells 98% of their guns to MILITARY and LAW ENFORCEMENT! Not like all the fancy US Brands like BCM, DD who sell 98$ to CIVILIANS and just 2% to whatever!!!!!! SO HK focusses off course the military and NOT CIVILIANS! They are no socialists, they are capitalists, so just say THANK YOU HK, THAT U TRY TO DELIVER YOUR OUTSTANDING PRODCTS AS CLOSE AS U CAN GET TO US CIVILIAN CONSUMERS instead of bashing them, just because u as a german or all these US civilian guys dont understand their purpose... And one last thing, HK would love to sell their updated MR223 A3 (Civilian HK416 A5 version with chrome lined barrel, all ambi, but "old" style Gasblock and more heavy barrel profile) to the US. BUT US IMPORT LAWS forbid it!!!!!!! So its YOU, YOU THE USA are the reason why YOU DONT HAVE THE GREATER HK guns! Its NOT HK!!!! Greetings from a german gunguy spending his holidays in Florida USA at the moment ;)

      @@philippanders6161 Danke für deine ausführliche Antwort. Woher hast du denn die Info, dass der Lauf rostfrei ist? Meines Wissens nach kann ein kaltgeschmiedeter Lauf nicht rostfrei sein? Habe das Haenel auch schon mit 1MOA geschossen, ist auch eine (ewig auftauchende und nie genug diskutierte;) Frage der Mun (Hornardy Match). Ein Bekannter von mir nutzt das Haenel CR223 als IPSC Waffe und schießt damit recht viel (>1000 Schuss Pro Monat) was, denke ich, eine recht hohe Beanspruchung ist und hat bisher keine Probleme (5 Jahre Garantie). MR308 oder CR308 sind ja eher DMR, also weniger Schussbelastung aber höherem Druck ausgesetzt. Das mit der V0 bei 16.5'' werde ich bei Gelegenheit mal austesten, kann ich aktuell keine Aussage zu machen.
      Bin allgemein kein Freund von proprietärem Design also auch nicht von MLOK oder HKEY, aber das ist denke ich das kleinste Problem, dann tauscht man eben den Handschutz, dass es einem passt ;) Es geht dabei wohl auch viel darum den eigenen Kram an den Mann zu bringen, Stichwort Kapitalisten ;) Wenn man nämlich eine proprietäres Design hat und in großen Stückzahlen ans Militär verkauft, kann man direkt noch das eigene Zubehör dazupacken vgl. MG5.
      Was das Militär in Deutschland nutzt und was es gern hätte und dass da viel Politik dabei ist, keine Frage. Man nehme nur das "nicht geradeaus schießende" G36 ... ja auch HK ... womit ich und meine Kameraden bisher keine Probleme hatten.
      Also läuft es hier imho im zivilen auf "jedem Tierschen sein Pläsierchen" raus.
      Was es in den USA gibt, was dorthin importiert werden darf etc. ist nochmal ein anderes Thema. Habe auch gerade rausgefunden, dass z.B. eine Walther P99 in Californien nicht erlaubt ist, weil Californien nur ganz bestimmte Kurzwaffen erlaubt ... Auf der einen Seite dürfen sie mehr, auf der anderen wieder weniger ?!?!
      Zu guter Letzt: BITTE MICH NICHT MIT "YOU THE USA" ANQUATSCHEN, WENN ICH UNTEN MIT GERMAN PARA ZEICHNE ;)
      In diesem Sinne viele Grüße nach Florida oder dahin wo du dich gerade rumtreibst...

    Mr. Vickers, you should explain OTB. I bought a MR 762 A1 when they first became available on the premise of the reliability your videos insinuated. Was heartbroken when I learned the distinguishing difference and meaning of OTB. If people trust their lives to a firearm, salesmanship should not quell the accuracy of its assessment.

    Even the slomo action shows that bolt carrier sliding back and forth so smoothly, not wavering at all like some guns. Me thinks that's too short of a barrel for all the powder to burn up though. Still super nice, but overpriced. AR-10 is still the way to go.

    I may be way offbase here, because I'm not fully up to date on HK, and a lot of other current, modern rifle tech. However, that gun, especially the upper, looks a lot to me like a hybrid of the Larue OBR and the Noveske Rifle Work's Project Leonidas.
