In 1988 I attended a class taught by a former SAS Trooper named Phil Singleton. This class was an amazing experience for me. James is a fantastic resource and is keeping the knowledge alive. About a year ago my agency decided to pull our old mp5s out of mothballs, I called James and he walked me through the process. I have found him to be honest and helpful, above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. Thank you for your content.
Yeah I could barely get my hand on the forend and still be able to use the pressure pad for my light when running them in the same direction whenever the spare or spent mag was on the inboard side. I have the full size SP5 on top of that . I got the $30 mag clamp from Hkparts so I'm wondering if that one spaces the two further apart than the HK brand clamp. I was already $6000 into the gun after 9 spare mags and filling them up with JHP ammo, the quick release B&T flash hider, Binary trigger, and that stupid overpriced surefire forend. $145 for a mag clamp was kind of out of the question at that point. But in retrospect I probably should have got it. The $30 Lula loader has worked out great though. Almost bought the 2 piece HK loader unloader set. Think it's about the price of the HK mag clamp. All this bitching aside though I really do love the gun. Even that stupid surefire forend is pretty good when shooting it and trying to keep light on the target.
I like the H&K MP5K, it's my favorite submachine gun!! I first saw the MP5K when I was eleven years old when I saw it in "Die Hard 2" and in "Terminator 2". The H&K MP5K has been my favorite submachine gun ever since! I want one!!
Always enjoy watching your videos and gleaning the sage wisdom you provide us here! The reversed magazine concept make so much since, I don’t know why we didn’t hear about this years ago. Always looking forward to your next educational video.
Many thanks. If you don’t follow 1911 Syndicate, check them out. We just wrapped filming on a series of 9 videos for H&K that will air weekly starting in August.
Thank you for all your training on this weapon!! just picked one up for my daughter and she loves it! off/ back /on/ forward- she totally gets it! Certainty over probability!!!
I’m gonna try “shouldering” the weapon more in line with my centerline next time at the range. Practicing it at the house does feel very good and natural
The MP5K used to have the small sling attachment on the left side of the barrel same as the MP5 has. But, the H&K executives noticed that an increasing number of MP5K users were not using that small sling attachment and the reason was obvious, so the small sling attachment disappeared from the MP5K.
Waiting for delivery of AP5P Will SBR it I wanted the B&T stock as shown in your your video but changed to the UMP style with HK Parts adapter as it offers a QD sling point
I like options and the modular design of the MP5 and the large amount of factory and non-factory options makes changes in set up for specific needs or preferences easy.
I've watched most of your videos related to using the MP5. I appreciate the well-informed information ad advice in such a pleasant format. Thanks. I get that your videos are geared toward law enforcement and military, but since my use case is defensive (as opposed to offensive) I've taken tidbits from you here and there and devised my own defense strategy and way of using the weapon. I wonder if you've ever tried using an unusually long 2 point sling specifically as a hasty sling, and without a stock? I've adopted this as a part of being able to ready myself in an instant, keep maximum maneuverability, while still being able to reliably hit targets within my expected range. I've never seen anyone using it how I do. I don't know why not. You can see how I'm using it on my eclectic channel if you don't understand what I'm trying to say (not intending to spam your video) Thanks for your channel. It's a resource that will stand the test of time.
There are lots of ways to get to your goal. I don’t usually use two point slings on subguns, but do with rifles and like the rapidly adjustable models to allow me maximum flexibility and maneuverability of the weapon, around my body and obstacles. The key as always is merging the sling and the techniques so that you’re working together instead of against each other.
My B&T stock hinge loosened up almost immedietly to the point of flopping around. Are you having to tighten the hinge pin to keep from doing the same? Great vid as always.
Hi, could you please tell me what type of attachment pin system that you are using that the MS3 sling connects to? I have seen one type on HK Parts, but this looks different.
That explains it. Good video, but I personally don't think the cinematic function is a net benefit. Now to see how well your tips apply to my CMMG Banshee. I'll start with your stance tip.
I think after watching the entire video, with all that was presented, that a comment on pausing longer after shooting being your takeaway, is pretty funny.
@@teufelshundtactical Sorry I did not mean to troll or anything. The content is great! Just some feedback as a viewer because I was wondering if I miss out any talking points after the second firing since you seem to be talking but the mic was still "drowned out".
@@hippoace I was just teasing. It was actually something I noticed as well after we had recorded the video and had moved on to training, but that we worked deliberately to do with the videos we filmed later, which I’ll be posting soon. Thanks.
Quick question, on the other video y’all posted, ruclips.net/video/8UO-WUdeCbA/видео.html. At 17:00, y’all said firing hand push and supporting hand pull. However, in this video, y’all said supporting hand push. So which is the correct way? I tried both, push/pull technique described in this video makes more sense.

Having just acquired the H&K magazine coupler, this reversed mag technique was quite enlightening. Great video.
Agreed this is very informative.

You really are the king... Like there's no point in watching MP5 videos unless you're in it
Seeing this video really made me wish I was there again this year.
Learned a lot. Thank you
Not even a single hair out place. James Bond would blush in your presence.
Absolutely brilliant with the magazines in opposite directions... Love your videos 👍👍
Everything I know about mp5 beyond just Wikipedia knowledge I owe to James.
Truly awesome advice! Only an experienced operator would know this stuff!

Off topic question, do you prefer a collapsible stock or side folder on your MP5?

Thank you again for your many informative videos! My question is what ammunition do you use in a MP5 platform gun for personal protection?
Thank you!

I have had no issues with any of my B&T stocks.

The MS3 sling is available either with a QD attachment or a clip. I have the clip models and it clips right into the sling loop on the stock.
Great video thank you
I’d like to see demonstrations of these techniques for lefties. Sometimes it’s not always as simple as “just do everything shown but reversed”.
Check out the MP5 videos I did with the guys at 1911 Syndicate or come join us for a MP5 Operator Course.

Was there some camera setting that blurred anything outside of the center? I kept noticing the sights and muzzle going fuzzy and out of focus.

Top Notch!
Im guessing you can't run the stock folded with the dual mag set up outboard??
If you run the dual mag on the opposite side of the folding stock, you can.

Yep, remains the premier sub-machinegun and receives substantial sales worldwide.
