Hi Stan. Good to see you're keeping us updated. I wish Yukon men was still on tv. My recently deceased father and I formed a great bond watching Yukon men. -Ed from Philadelphia.
My father passed not to long ago but before the show. He would have loved it too.
So glad to see you are back with videos! I hope no one suffered any damage to their homes or were injured during the break up. I miss everyone up there. I hope you all are well and will have a great summer of hunting and fishing! I'm looking forward anymore videos you will be posting. Stay safe and God Bless and Protect each and everyone of you!
Also can I take my wife up there to show how good she has it made here. Love to live your life style.
Keep your story coming Stan, "Perseverance furthers"... Trying hard to get to Alaska this year, maybe Tanana too late summer.

You guys are tough. It was 15° here around Houston and it completely shut down an area with 5 or 6 million people for almost a week. I don't know why but I would like to spend a winter there and experience real cold weather. Hope the fishing is good for you this year.
Excellent another new video, true grit springs to my mind every time i see what you do on a daily basis stan, your definetly made from the right stuff. 🙏💚

Stan, I spoke to you once on Facebook, it's been a while, I'm from São Luís Maranhão Brazil.
I wanted to give you a tip, put leganda in Portuguese in your videos, you have a lot of followers here in Brazil.
A big hug, my friend, may God bless you always.
We have tried translators but they are inaccurate enough to not be of value. We get requests for all languages so it's hard to do. Thanks for support though.
@@stanzuray OK my friend!
And the cold, is it strong there?
Here is the Amazon region, a lot of rain, but the heat is intense.
Hi Stan I like your video on the new truck it’s funny hearing about the old dorchester stories and your dad‘s old Plymouth your new truck wouldn’t have been worth stealing in Dorchester and parked on Hot box hill. It sure looks like a sturdy truck though good luck Billy Lynch
Hello Bill Sorry I didn't rely but constantly get locked out of RUclips
Thanks for sharing Stan. Stay safe hope the water stays out of town.
You know when Stan posts something it's going to be interesting....just Joey and Sam going over the ice to get to the other side to hunt....that tells me to stay here....I don't even like to walk over a frozen pond....when I was a kid...no problem....hope after they went through that the hunting was good...
Crazy spring! Thanks for sharing 👍
Hey Stan I miss you Bill Lynch
LOVE YOUR VIDS
Me aswell
Hope all is well up there Stan and wishing your family a great next season!
I would imagine that a swamp air boat would be beneficial in those types of conditions.
Please make more videos we really miss you here in the uk

Enjoyed!!!!!!
Thank you Stan👌
Thank's for video can't wait to see more
Thanks Stan. Another interesting video.
Stan! Haven't seen you in my feed for a while. Isn't the break up an exciting time? At least when the water levels aren't too high. In Quebec City, they have pretty serious canoe races across the StLaurence river in the spring when it's half ice, have water, which originated from way back when people were too impatient to wait like your boys there. 🙂
Keep Powering on Stan.
Good to see You. 🤘😎🇺🇸
Thanks for video 👍
Love it !
Hello Stan hope all is as well as can be
Thats the way to live right 😜 //north sweden

2022 and I just finished watching the reruns of the Yukon Men series. Wish the series continued and like others have asked in here wondering how everyone in the series is today in 2022.
Would love to see a video of you or one of the original cast catching up with others from the series but know everyone is busy and mightn't even want to be filmed being so long since the series. But would be cool to see.
Most of us are still in Tanana. Little older but still kicking. Look back on the show as a great experience and had fun making it.
@@stanzuray Awesome to hear most still live in Tanana and are well. Loved the show first time around and again when it came up on Discovery a couple of months ago. Same here, a little older but still loved the show.
I'm 52 and live in Aotearoa - New Zealand, I'm Maori (indigenous to Aotearoa) and I still live in a small village which is now classified as a town to get around bylaws to build more houses on what was village farm land. I was brought up with the last generation where we relied on the river for kai (food) big gardens and freshly killed meat. Not many families still relied on rivers, gardens and freshly killed farm meat, even then, we don't have beers or moose or any really big game as in America/Canada. Deer is about the biggest game here as well as wild pigs, ducks etc a lot of fishing rivers and sea fishing.
Anyway I could relate to the reaction to the road being built into Tanana at the end of the series and the problems that started to occur, trapping your lines etc. I have seen this happen in our village, dirty rivers and as a result no more fish, no more gardens and a lot less community spirt as access to what was once a managed gift has grown. Now days we can't even get out of the boat ramp on weekends because it's so full.
Sorry for the epic reply. Good to hear you're well.

Hi Stan I miss Yukon men I hope discovery will do another show. Be safe I know it's time when the place flood hope you all will be ok
can u make more videos, Love seeing what's going on up there, ❣🤘
I know. Life is so busy lately . Hope to make some more someday.
Hi, Stan,
In your old 6 part series you mentioned using a CB, then more recently using cell phones. I don't recall phones in Yukon Men. I wonder if you could give us a brief history of Tanana's communications...
Town has regular phone land lines for years and lately cell phones if close to town's center. I had a CB radio when I lived in the bush 30 air miles north of Tanana . Could talk to someone on a hill 10 miles north of the village .
Please be I remember what happens to George I hope it never happen again I didn't know him but it bring tears to my eyes .hope your son and his wife will be ok
Glad to see you Stan! How's Joey and your family doing?
So how’s it look for breakup this year? No snow worth a damn on Upper Peninsula Michigan. Mud season has arrived here
Ha yes mud season northern Minnesota is here 😀dam it's a pain in the ass
Low snow and ice not that thick so should be okay. No guarantee though.
Hope you guys make videos of fish camp! Miss your videos
Stan, like your videos, does anybody use a hovercraft or a sherp. thanks Lewis
Stay safe
Glad to see you posting. How was the trapping last season?
Trapping is pretty dead this winter. Been a few years since it was worth doing for money. I'm afraid the anti trap people are winning. Hope they are happy with the lives they are hurting. I have last years fur unsold still and most of the year before fur went for $109 (37 marten) in the bankruptcy settlement of the largest of Canada's fur auction houses.

@@stanzuray 37 marten for $109 to me is a stupid thing to do Stan. You could make a lot more money from selling photo's of these animals. Or selling lemonade on the corner.
Stan, my friend, send me about 10 kilos of salmon, here in Brazil the salmon is absurdly expensive. Kkkkkkkkkkk
nice
Nice job, Stan. I can see the confluence of the Tanana and Yukon rivers and the island you refer to on the map, so I can almost determine where you are standing while filming the breakup. Is that James Roberts standing on the pile of dirt at 9:51? Thanks Stan.
No that is John Erhart operating the equipment
Didn’t James move to Arizona?
He did for awhile but he's back in Tanana now.
Wow it's been a long time didn't see your video,ow you been?
Doing okay just been very busy. Have alot of video material just need to put it together.
Hi Stan. How did you make out this winter? Any little grandkids yet?
Got 7 grandkids now. Winter went fine although time's they are changing with the loss of trapping income and market collapse.
Man sure is nice to see an old face
BOM DIA STAN

Does the ice make a loud popping & cracking noise when it's breaking up?
Some years it can be heard a long way. Trees snapping and an ice grinding roar.
Can you explain what brand of boat you have and the engine
22' Alweld semi V 60" wide. Its a very common boat for this section of the river. As you go towards the river mouth people use heavier boats and towards the headwaters they use more flat bottom lighter ones. Bigger river bigger waves - smaller river smaller waves.
Greatly enjoy your videos. RUclips is becoming competitive you should work on your editing and naratives.

HELLO. STAN FROM. CAPE COD. I. HEARD YOU. SAY YOU. MIGHT. BE. BOSTON. JUST. SAYING. HELLO. WATCH ING. THE. BREAKUP
Is this earlier than normal for breakup Stan?
Read the Video name again. It says 2020 spring. Also the video description tells what the video is about as to the timeline and year it happened.
@@stanzuray ok ya im a dumb ass lol
I realize with most people using smartphones nowadays the video description is often not read.
Stan project have a network yet ?
I got a KickStarter notice about the project the other day. COVID lockdowns have affected progress, but apparently that has allowed producers to do more editing. It had been about year since the last update, so it was encouraging to me.
No network yet. Not really in that stage but it is well into the editing stage. I do support the producers desire to not rush it. We have one best shot at this and it is not a simple RUclips video. The ability and talent to make it super quality is there in the film footage and abilities of the people involved. I am not involved in that and from my videos you can see I should not be, The end is near. Best , Stan
@@stanzuray will this be a series of documentary?

Do you feel like a detached person to emotions of death and killing because of trapping? My brother would never go again with me on the line after experiencing it. And has this affected your relationship with your wife at all. I would love to talk to you about this.
I have never liked hunting/trapping/fishing for the sport when young in the city or even now. If I can use the food or fur I do it. Even though I am closer to the pain/suffering of providing that meat, fur etc. I feel better about the food or clothing I get that way than having someone else do it for me as in the food I get at a store etc. My wife has been brought up in this culture/ways all her life so can't imagine any problem we would ever get into. She does not like hunting herself but when the meat comes home the whole family turns the quarters and part into usable food without thinking any negative thoughts at all. I actually feel more sorry for an animal caged or raised all their life for later slaughter than I do a wild animal taken for food or fur. Hope this helps explain.
So.If the best hunting is ACROSS the River, why don’t you move there? 😉
Across the river is lowlands so it floods easy. Lots of mosquitoes and blowing sands from all the sand bars exposed, poor drinking water whereas Tanana has multiple spring water sources. It's really easy to go across the river to hunt just not when the river is rotting out.
