Yukon River Day in Our Lives Stan Zuray

- Four months of every year I move to fish camp on the Yukon River 730 miles upriver of the mouth and Bering Sea and 40 miles upriver of my home village of Tanana. Day to day life is often the same unless interrupted by minor flooding and drift logs hitting the fish wheels and nets, or lack of fish and a fish closure being instituted by the fish managers. Guess there are dozens of other things that can happen also but this video is about as day to day as it gets. Best to you, Stan

I just find these fishing wheels pretty neat and alaska very beautiful in general.
Hello Stan. It is so nice to see you again. Hoping all is good and you are all safe. Thank you for posting your video.
Thanks Stan👋
Thanks Stan👌
Hello Stan. I've seen you many times on TV or RUclips but found your book. I snatched up the book because I recognised your name. At first I thought your writings were going to be long, now as I get nearly to the end, it's not long enough and will hate to finish it. Besides the great story, man you've been through some tough times, you also have taught me lessons of value. May I add, you wouldn't have liked Viet Nam anyhow so good on you.
Have a blessed Eaater mias ypu all
All those years in Alaska and still has his Boston accent!! Love Stan
Luv u Stan so happy to see us till going strong may God continue to bless you
I think Stan was everyone's favorite from Yukon Men.
I'd sure like to tag along with Stan for a day or two.
I wish you all the best. Greetings from Poland!
In France, we look forward to seeing you again very soon, you and Joe, on French television. Grettings France !
Hopping everyone in Tanana are doing well. Missing your videos Stan.
Heureux d'avoir de vos nouvelles 👍
I've wondered for years why Yukon Men stopped coming on TV. If I remember right the show stopped just as the road to Tanana was being put in. I really miss the show. Take care Stan, I'm hope you and your family are still going strong! 💪 💗 💛 🤠🦋🙏✝️🙌
Yea I liked Yukon me as much or more than Life Below Zero, which is still on, they started about the same time. LBZ has two spin offs this season, Next Generation and Northern Territories.
Do you ever ice fish with a hook and pole
Yukon men was so much better than life below zero, shame they canceled it
Almost never. My son Joe fly fishes however.
Never got the official word but think it was just to expensive anymore as the TV world changed to having less and less viewers. Even with our new road it is closed most of the time so we are still pretty remote and travel costs high.
Greetings from New Hampshire, Stan. Hope you and the family are having a great winter. Awesome video, always looking forward to the next one. Take care, go Sox
Never forget first view of a glacial river from the plane on way from Chicago to ANC back in '92.. Always visualized beautiful, clear streams, not dirty milkshake looking water.
Friend Stan, thank you for putting the subtitles in Portuguese. That way it's much better to follow you.
I could watch you every day on that river!
Hi Stan. More videos please. Thank you. I hope you are doing great and your family ❤️
Sooo awesome!! Thank you soo much for sharing this and sharing about Alaskan fishing and way life. Sending you abundant prayers and blessings. I pray you are staying safe and well.🙂
Stan, You had to have learned your early fishing skills in Dorchester at the Neponset River! It’s good to see you doing well. Take care and be safe.
Dan Sweeney (St Bs & Cathedral’67)
No question my fishing was started back then in the Neponset and Castle Island etc.
Good to hear from you.
Stan I have been passing your book through the family and everyone enjoys it. Even my 90 year old father, who normally only reads westerns.
Stan, a tip, your videos would be more visible if the title was in the language of each country.
Greetings from São Luís Maranhão Brazil 🇧🇷
Stan my hero, one of your Italian fans
All right! Something good to watch
Thanks! Mr.Stan. Please continue to make videos.
Hey Stan. We've talked a bit before. I used to build those Alweld boats. At the first of your video, you showed the front deck of your boat. It made me remember how the decks on those "Alaska boats"( that's what we called them) were made in 2 pieces, instead of a single piece of metal bent down for the bulkhead like the smaller boats. It's because the deck is wider than the metal we used. The aluminum came on big coils that were 5 feet wide. So the deck and blkhd wouldn't fit as one piece on the raw metal. Just a little useless information this morning. Lol. 👍
We like our Alweld boats up here.
Glad to see more videos stan. Nothing quite as breath taking as an Alaskan summer day out on the river.
I enjoy your daily operations of life. Thanks Stan.
We all love to see how u doing Stan.so please put as much video as u can please and thanks

Hey there pardner. We in Texas got just a little taste of what you guys go through (only you do it better). Without even a snow shovel within 500 miles of here. We had two back to back snowstorms and it wasn't pretty. Glad to see you at your fish wheel and just glad to see you at all. Take care 🙂.

Awesome!!! Can't wait either!
Still going strong 💪 Stan. I’ve always liked your fishwheel design , it’s so efficient and durable.Hauling it up that hill of yours might be a pain in the a$$ but doable .😅 stay safe m8
Hey stan,Hello from Dorchester, ma.
Good to see ya Stan! How's everyone doing in Tanana? Is Charlie doing OK? I hope so! The Only way I get
to see you guys is on Discovery+. I hope All of you had a great winter trapping season. Hope to see more
videos like this again soon, Good Luck and Stay Safe!!!
Charlie is fine and just heard that today. He lives in an upriver village now. Trapping is pretty dead this winter. Been a few years since it was worth doing for money. I'm afraid the anti trap people are winning. Hope they are happy with the lives they are hurting.
@@stanzuray Sad to hear about the trapping situation. Trapping is a necessary evil keeping the population in check. I like the way you never over trap an area. It's sad what those PETA folks do not understanding the necessity of trapping in areas such as yours. I'm happy to hear Charlie is doing OK. I know he didn't like the harm that new road would bring to Tanana. Take Care and All the Best for a Good Fishing season!
Cool video
Hey Stan. How are y’all?
You look well. Love your channel
Be safe.
Doing okay. Going with the flow.
Thanks!!
Hi Stan 👋🤝
Me encanta este programa pero no encuentro ninguno en español 😢
hello stan it’s still summer here in New Zealand i would be interested in seeing how you get the wheel back in the river cheers and stay safe
The following videos are of it being pulled out which is much harder as it is waterlogged and being pulled uphill. You'll get the idea though it's the same.

Plz come back plz start filming again
Hey Stan. As I see it, summer has come to you too. You modernized the tools.
How many summer months in Tanana?
What are the summer temperatures?
Thanks a lot. Good job and success!👍👍👍👏
You could call summer June July and August. I've seen ice in river late in May and end of Sept. so would not call those summer months. Summer temps can easily be 100 degrees in the sun and 70 in shade on the warmer days.
@@stanzuray Thanks a lot
You should take us along on a hunt you go on
