You have to disassemble and clean the whole engine and oiling system of any engine that has catastrophic mechanical failure of that sort, (and inspect it) if not you are facing failure in the future. Does not look like lubricants were changed often enough and or super lean fuel settings and hi temperatures accelerated the wear . What oil did the owner use? Thank you for the information.

nope have not seen this before but then again not many issues with my Indian in general and not a whole lot of vids on here regarding Indians having issues every 1000 miles.
Buy INDIAN. Harley may be built in Thailand. Yep get tag that says built in Thailand. The german screw over CEO doesnt give a darn about employees. Yep hear we go another AMF screw up. Fire CEO and upper management.
How many miles on this bike? I have a 2012 103 with 50,000 miles. Going to be installing stage 2 this year. Can hear some lifter bleed down at start up but nothing like this bike!!
Just did work on my 2011 103 with the same miles as yours. Added fueling lifters, Twin Power tensioner shoes, inner Cam Bearings, Zippers 528 Redshift Cams and Thundermax tuner. Has woken the bike up big time.
Great video, excellent information and job. Ugly assed header the owner bought. Subscribed. My bike is a '16 RG Ultra. What is the layout for the S&S and primary tensioner upgrade? About $1k?
Yeah it's hard to tell the engine noise over the exhaust noise and typical amateur tuber roaming video panning, he should of brought the camera down to the cam case and paused it for the sound.
Oh yeah and another thing... he don't know how to adjust chains both front & rear I'll bet. (and it's not in the service manual, at least the old manuals).
Dude I don’t want to add more complain if we don’t tell you, you wouldn’t know your voice is very muffled, background music way to loud we want to hear you not this terrible song 🎵
The background music waay too loud, can hardly hear you talking!
Music not only to loud, this is NO music, more for playing in a lift in skyscrapers😮
Most riders don't have a clue. Thanks for demonstrating an honest mechanic's work.
Very well put together !! thank you!! Super helpful for the DIY guys like myself.
Your music is too loud, and gives me a headache, sounds like something pre-teenage girls would listen to.
Why am I fighting with music?
new to the channel what is the point of trying to explain what your doing with the HORRIBLE MUSIC blaring while your trying to talk ?
SpEAK UP I CANT HEAR BECAUSE OF THE BLOODY MUSIC
Would of been better without annoying music.Seriously nobody is going to miss it.Whats important is your comments but drawn in obnoxious "music"

Loctite had been on the market years before Harley introduced the Shovelhead engine in '66.

Stopped watching at that "music"? Exhaust gasket.
10 secinto the music and I turned it off
Great video! Very nicely explained.
Had the same S&S cams and oil pump installed in my RG 96 TC at about 50K. Tensioners weren’t too worn, but glad I got it done.
Like all British Harley dealers you obviously believe that music is necessary in life. No MUSAC.
So many videos with this loud music problem. Are they using AI to do their editing?
did you check comp ramp n spring, also clutch basket for cracks.

Cam chain tensioner would have been my first guess considering the generation of this bike.
Tensioner problem was resolved by '07, this bike is '11. You'll still get wear on the shoes but not like the original tensioners.

You checked the run-out but did you check the end play for the sprockets too? And tune it?

do you have to clean out oil pan for any metal shards, due to lifter breaking.

To many twin cams dying donto oil pump or lifter..mine had lifter failure during warranty ate camshaft
