Good morning 🌅, NICE WORK, I have just recently purchased a 2003 Softail deuce, carb version, it is in a hell of a state, One of my first projects was to change all the fluids, and since I’ve done it, I’ve noticed a noise coming from the top end, I’ve put the original oil from Harley in it, I’ve now I’ve got a noise that I was not familiar with before so obviously the oil has made a lot of difference, This is my fourth Harley , and my second deuce, I purchased my first one brand-new in 2000, I had it until 2019 it was immaculate, sadly I’ve been scammed by my ex partner and I had to sell the bike to recoup some money, I ended up moving from England to France, where I live, Thank you for your territorial on the rocker lockers as I believe this is what I need to do with the deuce , I think in the winter period I will be stripping the bike down completely, as I believe it’s had a big war kit put on it, it said S&S geared cams put in, but it’s still got the original back plate and I think the original oil pump, So I need to go through it to make sure that everything is correct, Keep up the great work , look forward to watching your next territorial, France.
Should of done this when I did my cams... I saw a post on HDForums that someone successfully insatlled em without taking the rocker support off. He just unbolted 1 corner at a time and installed the Rocker Locker, then did the other side.. Thoughts?
I know this is a dumb question, but where did you get orange nitrile gloves ? And was that your daughter that called you fatty? 😂😂 I literally have the same relationship with my teen twins, then the younger sweet one comes in and is just the sweetest. You’re living the dream brother, soak it in everyday
I watched a video and the guy did it by doing 1 bolt at a time and just used the bolt to put it in place while he was tightening them. so I think you could, but dont go off my opinion, I have only had a harley for a yr..
The noise is from the rocker shafts moving and "clicking" against the bolts that hold the shafts in place. The shafts have a notch machined in them and the bolts go through the notch. The rocker lockers basically fill the gap between the shafts and the bolts
Nope. They have a different mounting style where the rocker arm isn’t held in place by the bolt. They do sell shim kits though so you can set the proper end play for the rocker
The best video on how to install Rocker Lockers.
I think I'm ready to do mine now. Thank you.
Good job. Thank you for keeping it simple yet detail specific. Two Thumbs Up.

Thanks for showing the difference in the slop ! I’m ordering this for my streetglide today ..
Sounds tight i like it, gives me confidence to do it my shelf. Thanks Again
I need to do that to my 2012 Roadking, I didn’t think it was that easy my local shop wants $500 to do that. Thank for the video …….
Great work. Could I also change out my lifters while I have the rocker assembly out?
Notch?. So does the sleeve have a notch as well?
Where can one get the Rocker Lockers?
You can get em all kinds of places online. J&P, Dennis Kirk, e-bay

Sheeesh that’s not a bad idea!

LOL! That was my wife calling my fatty because I was skipping the gym to make that video. I get the gloves from Amazon!
I wished you lived in the piedmont area of North Carolina. I’d have you do my work … HD services are a joke anymore. Good videos
Could you install the lockers while leaving the rocker supports in place and installing them one at a time?
The sleeves have to be pressed into place, so probably no. Great idea, though.

Will shimming the rockers work just as good?
The noise is from the rocker shafts moving and "clicking" against the bolts that hold the shafts in place. The shafts have a notch machined in them and the bolts go through the notch. The rocker lockers basically fill the gap between the shafts and the bolts
Not quite. Shimming in important for the lateral movement, but it will still allow the shaft to move in there a bit
Would this be the same for an M8?
My 2016 110 has the noise and it drives me nuts!
I have those on all 3 of my twinkies. 😊
Good content bro!!
Thank you!
They don't male these for m8s do they? All I seem to find for is TC
Nope. They have a different mounting style where the rocker arm isn’t held in place by the bolt. They do sell shim kits though so you can set the proper end play for the rocker
@GilstrapGarage cool I appreciate ya
Band aid for a shitty design!!!! 😊😊😊😊
Yep and typical for fixing Harley's screw-ups.
