(Yes, right now it's just me making everything)
Editor's Note: My edits were all made to keep the video on one, central topic by editing together relevant commentary from many parts of Hasan's streams to create a storyline that is still followable by the viewer. I also edited in commentary of my own in places, in addition to relevant external information that improves the viewing experience. A lot of edits were made for comedy purposes, or to enhance the comedic timing of certain beats, but never to misrepresent Hasan's point of view.

As someone from a NATO-Andy country, this kind of surveillance was widespread even outside of territories under direct US control. My dad was denied a job because his ex-wife was a suspected communist, but when the government in a scandal was forced to release their (completely illegal) surveillance files, his file was unsurprisingly empty.
And our idiotic politicians want more surveillance 🤮
Puerto Rico deserves independence, or at the very least statehood.

I haven’t started the video so I don’t know how good Hasan’s commentary is, but damn it sucks that this is the video about PR that he chose to react to. It would be really nice if people like Hasan and other USamerican leftists amplified boricuas’ voices instead of listening to gringos talk about our history. Idk, it sucks that we’re always an afterthought in people’s minds, especially those that realize how evil the US is and that have such a big USamerican audience.
Edit: Don Pedro didn’t get to graduate valedictorian of his class because his professors didn’t want a boricua to be valedictorian. They delayed his exams so he wouldn’t be able to complete his work in time.
Also, this is kinda irrelevant, but my mom had a carpeta.
Lastly, I want to mention that I see diasporicans in the comment section talking shit about independence so I want to add my two cents to the conversation as an independentista. People often say that Puerto Ricans don’t want to be free because the “statehood” option has won most plebiscites, but they fail to consider why that is. They don’t take into consideration all of the anti-independence propaganda we’ve been fed by the local and federal governments, la ley de la mordaza, el carpeteo, how many nationalists have been killed and/or tortured, police brutality, etc. We’ve been programmed to think that we’d perish without our oppressor “helping” us. It’s by design and I wish more people (specifically estadistas) would give it more thought as to why they fear independence so much.

Assessing the morality of different types of nationalism largely depends on its purported goals. White Nationalism intends on making the United States into a white ethnostate. In contrast, black nationalism was a separatist movement predicated on creating an African American nation within the United States. One necessitates genocide, the other does not. Not all nationalisms are created equal.
