  • I needed something new...... and super 8 way my answer ;-)
Super 8mm film is a type of 8mm wide film that was introduced by Kodak in 1965 as a cheaper and easier alternative to making home movies. It has several differences from standard 8mm film, including:
    Frame size
Super 8 frames are about twice the size of standard 8mm frames, measuring 5.79mm compared to 4.5mm.
    Perforations
Super 8 sprocket holes are smaller and more square, while 8mm holes are larger, rectangular, and horizontal. The smaller perforations in Super 8 allow for a larger exposed area and better picture quality.
    Packaging
8mm film requires the user to manually spool and roll up the film, while Super 8 film may be easier to use.

I’ve been wanting to shoot with my super 8 camera for a while now but haven’t made the financial commitment to buying and developing the film. I think I have this exact same camera in silver actually.

I really wish they made a digi cam that has super 8 mode. Maybe they have it in software? Good vid.

Unfortunately it will never actually look/feel the same as a result of the physical film media and how the lenses that these older super8 cameras render. To get the look, ya gotta shoot the real thing.

IMHO shootig Super Eight is for those who want to bring out thei inner masochist. Short run times . Having to change film a lot. Don't get me wrong I worked in film
for several institutions for several decades, still love film. Kodak used to sell processing mailers. I quite enjoy your channel.
