What do you think is the main reason behind a major decline in Bollywood hits?
Boycott of bollywood due to farmers protests and unfortunate death of sushant singh rajput
And some illogical scenes and old type stories in some films
No extreme experimental films with surprises,same old lame stories and format and especially songs in Bollywood have gone worse not able to pull audience

No film of his had worked after Khalnayak. I know being in Film Distribution business, that all his film distributors have lost financially, became bankrupt distributing his duds with no compensation from his side. His arrogance has led to his present state with people hardly remembering his glory or his few films made successfully.

His understanding of the audience is spot on right. From an audience wallet share perspective, a couple will easily spend close to Rs 2000 if they choose to go for a movie in a theater... right from stepping out of the house till return home. That is the same amount they will spend for an OTT platform subscription for close to 6 months for multiple movies. When they see that they go to the theater and get a feeling that they have spent on the heroines short clothes or gym membership of the hero... or paying for a sub talented star kid lifestyle, it is a tremendous let down. This is the sole reason why I haven't stepped into the theater for the past 4 years.

Audience is more educated, better traveled, exposed to world cinema. When Ghai made movies it was about song-dance, villain, comedy and dramatic climax. He could never compete with present generation and their talent.
well travelled? So why are people like Rajkumar Rao hailed as actors when they play themselves in every damn movie? We still have dancing around trees. Ghai had one style and he had an audience. Art is a matter of opinion, not facts so whether he could compete or not is pointless.
You are educated that doesn't mean that you have to disrespect your god and culture. don't talk like an educated fool. The dance and fight was much better than todays movie full of mudity and sex.
Watch older movies like Alibaba and 40 chor, sholay and many that I can't remember where they had to do all stunts by really doing them instead of getting hung on wires and kicking the villain once with style that would throw the villain away a mile far. They jump high in the air but it's so apparent that they if they jump in real time they are not capable to jump even 2 feet high and the wires are doing the job. In older times the stunts were real. Jackie Chan was a stunt man. He didn't need wires. it was so real. The same way Bollywood had real stunt men because villain was a real thing that demanded physical know how and years of practice. Now everything is taken over by technology. The same goes for every field may it be dancing, stunts, fights,musicians etc etc. There is no more soul that connects a person with the film through heart. People would cry in the theatres because they connected. Now the world is getting robotic and cold because machines have take. over to do the jobs. Yes there are humans that run the machines, but it's the machines that do the job and so they do a better job but the human feeling is gone. And because the newer generation has been only exposed to this, they don't know what they missed. Yes, technology improvements should be made but they should not take over because people watch cinema for art and art touches emotions. Science cannot.

I completely mesmerized by the way he explain how the whole the film industry works, how a film has to made, and how a simple job/role has to be done, amazing.

Solute, Respect to his mature thoughts and thanks to my cable operator that I was able to see 3-4 old Indian movies every night throughout covid in karachi, pk. I had always wanted to do it since I wasn't allowed to do so in my childhood. Last 3 yrs were magical due to old Indian cinema, a little but not so much due to the new cinema.
Now we now why he became obsolete. Clearly he could not brace himself up with changing audience & ways of business. He should be the last person to be asked on why films aren't working in the last couple of years. His innings got over way before the period bollywood transitioned into meaningful content.

Yeh kitna simple idea tha of long shot and focus on sound.... exactly why Marvel movies work. Some movies are to be experienced in theatre but the story also should be larger than life. Other than that a good comedy is good for family viewing. Otherwise paying 1000 rs for tickets and popcorn in one day for only 2 ppl is not worth it. Prime ka annual subscription is less than that 1 day expense.

Sholay, Mugal-e-Azam, Guide, Deewar, Karz, Chak De, 3 idiots, Bahubali, Dangal were all greatly successful & memorable films, first because they were great Scripts handled by Capable & Visionary Directors who had the ability to extract great performances from its talented actors and guide every film department to deliver its best. An actor is upfront on screen, so he walks away will all the credit, but no actor however big or talented can make a badly written or directed film work. To consistently churn out successful and inspiring content we need to dedicate ourselves to understanding the Science of good Screenwriting, respect and compensate writers well, for the true King of a good film is actually a good Script!
First of all they should stop ridiculing all hindu traditions and culture temples and the family structure in movies make simple movies but not woke propaganda movies No one will buy that

@@positivekumar3546 Lol. Even south indian films take women for granted especially the telugu film industry. Tamil and Malayalam are far better. Bollywood films has great roles for women. South has a few but is known for male domination and over the top hero centric roles. Women like Pooja Hegde , Tamannah , Regina Cassandra , Kajal Aggarwal , etc. are used only for glamour and nothing else. All they have to play is a damsel in distress. Bollywood has more female directors too.

With all respect to subhash ji. Woh daur alag tha. Cinema used to show a world which we could not afford to see in real life. Now after internet and globalisation we have access to anything and everything. Marketing is needed as we have thousand things to entertain us for free so between all this clutter if film has to be noticed it has to be marketed. Third from arrival of the viral fever videos they started creating real life stories of common man in a real way and not a filmy way. Web series like ghar wappsi kota factory panchayat the aspirants gullak these started capturing the present youth which showed our life as it is. Now d filmypan is not appreciated. U have to accept your failure ghai sahab. U did not keep in touch with the changing audience and trend. You can't live in past glory and fame. Tell a story which has to b told not create a story. Now that's wat works. Anyways thank u for the lovely music u have given in the years.

@@Spiritkill1 listen to me i am a South Indian. The flavour of South Indian movies is only mass in telugu tamil nd kannada. Malayalam is purely class. Kannada only Charlie nd kgf worked.kgf worked because of the making of the movie. That world nobody has seen and yash was already a big star down South. Kgf created it's own world. Even now if in karnataka if a mass film of big star comes it becomes a hit coz telugu kannada audience is that way. Only stars cal make a mass film hit. Pushpa allu arjun is a big star South he has been in industry since 2002 . His films used to get dubbed and come in kanada nd stil they were houseful. It's star power.

Subhash Ghai khud ki movies nhi chal rhi 20 saal se. His last hit was Taal and after that he made series of bad movie. He himself couldn't connect with the audience.
