Huge respect Subhash sir, but if objecting on actor's commercial means of money making like adds, events others is such a glitch and that they should stick to acting only, then in that case why didnt you stick to directing only ? Why did you ventured into production ? Why did you focused more on producing multi movies without any vibe n feel of that film making like youre claiming as your mastery ? Why did u struck heavy commercial deals with studios ? and then paid acting schools to charge aspiring actors ? Apart from that getting into distribution and exhibitions to mint money on movies you have nothing to do with creatively ! Plus minting money from all possible forms and much more ! If you can do all that to mint money from all possible mediums ? Then why cant the actors incash on their careers which are anyways short lived and unpredictable ! Dont you think preach and practice will work more than just preaching ?

Subhash Ghai's downfall began when he refused to move with the times, this is very evident here. He is just an old uncle who thinks he knows it all. Although I do agree there are several issues and problems today in Bollywood, but his reasons are NOT IT.
If you know about his history with Amitabh Bachchan, you will hear this interview in good context.
How main argument seems to be Bollywood does not respect directors??? I'm sorry but he is just butt-hurt because people don't respect him as a director since 1999's Taal (which mainly ran on music by AR Rahman). His next film Yaadein exposed him as a limited director, he's been giving flops ever since then, almost 25 years. He should sit down and re-evaluate or just sshh.
EDIT: He is also very WRONG about actors not doing ADS back in the day. Dilip Kumar, Dev Avand ALL did advertisements in magazines back then, if there was Instagram, they would be doing that too, which is the equivalent.

Downfall ? These had happen with all great directors except Yash Chopra . Nasir Hussain, manmohan Desai , rajkhosla, Ramesh sippy , prakash mehra there were all down in the end

Pauased mid way totype the comment. This anchor is the worst ever guy to interview an influencer, forget about talking to legend like Subhash ghai. Every answer from Ghai sir was neglected, no verbal nods, no acknowledgement, no anotations, no expressions. Who the hell chose him to talk to ghai sir? he cant even talk to chai wala !! Watch closely and Ghai sir felt dejected a few times with his responses.
