You kick ass, you have the most knowledge of anyone I've seen about these cars. I have a 1980 SE Bandit Edition, that has 65,000 miles. It's all original. I haven't started or driven it in 22 years, it's been sitting in the garage. I'm wondering the proper steps to get her on the road again without hurting anything.
I have a 81 Export TTA that has the original engine removed and replaced by a 455. I don't care about the power of the 455, and 8-10mpg hampers the fun of the car for me. I still have the original engine with ~50k miles on it and hope that I'm able to restore the engine with your videos as reference. Unfortunately sending the car or any parts of the engine for repair is completely unviable due to the extreme shipping costs and import duties on my side of the pond...
Man I miss mine so much, Id love to have another, my bet it really is 23k having that air intake on it... those things were always toast. Take a look at the "slap stick" and see if its still springy.
I find if the car sits a while the needle valve will stick and you fire it up it will run like trash because the needle valve is stuck open dumping fuel into the engine. That was my biggest issue when is sat sometimes over the winter months and then firing it up in the spring.
Question to...anyone. I see TTA put out quite a few "shorts" lately, and was wondering if there's a way to comment on them. I see the 3 dots, but none say "comment", only to the YT channel, but not the site. Am I missing something? I thought I was able to comment on one a couple weeks ago. Thanks.
I have one of these with 18000 miles, one owner with same seats and same color. Can I tell by the VIN number if it is a pace car, because it has primer on it now and was in the middle of being restored. But 4.9 and turbo and everything seems to work. Just curious how I know it's a pace car, the owner said it was. Thank you and I am willing to sell it.
23K, still the factory smoke grinder in tact, and the lack of rust must make this car a triple digit value. (Once you put it back right. Too bad about the stupid aftermarket braking system. Ruins the car. it's not a racer)
Nice car! Another great video. He sent it to the right guy this time!

How the passenger side bleeding screw is lower part of the caliber? Is the driver side same way
That intake flex hose is missing the cinch strap.

Curious how much this service would cost? Additionally, how much future upgrades will be? Thank you.

The VIN number should start with 2X87 to be a 1980 pace car. 1981 would be 1G2X87
