Wait what exactly are we saying here, that the Bb wasn't intentional? Sounds nice to me - and just noticed he did it in the Berkeley recording in another video on RUclips!
Depends what you mean by ‘work’. That tight bass work by Colin is vital and hard work. If you mess up a bass note it is so clear, much more so than if Jonny was to mess up. Takes so much concentration. He’s also effortlessly in the pocket, all the time. Same with Phil. Their grounding gives Jonny licence to do all his crazy stuff.
I hope if they do a From the Basement with A Moon Shaped Pool they do the Burn the Witch version stripped down with guitars like this, I love the album version but I'd kill for a more properly recorded version of this.
Jonny is just insanely talented (even more so when you hear some of his movie scores). Everyone creams their pants about Thom Yorke (don't get me wrong, Thom is very talented too) but Jonny by far is my favorite Radiohead member and maybe one of my favorite musicians of all time (along with Tom Morello, who is also insanely talented and has a unique approach to music).

There's something about the note he sings around 1:24 on the word "panic" that is just so eerie to me. I love the melody of that entire line....but especially the note on the first syllable of the word "panic." I haven't really dug into the music theory of this song....it just _feels_ sharp or something. Gives it an edge. Really like that....
long these guys!...been 20 years since I first heard "Paranoid android' from their 'OK computer' on the telly, back when MTV played actual music videos... never felt a day older..

Or I just believe I get their wavelengths because that's how it makes me feel and I find it to be a big achievement in terms of addressing a Higher instance : ) So amen to that, lads!

Jacorpes01 They'll upload it on youtube so that people like you who can't afford to buy tickets for their live performance can watch it on youtube for free.
Robert Harry Bibat I'm watching this video for free, not the pooey ones they're recording on their phones. I am seeing them this summer actually... I can't wait!!
Dammit Jonny
what did jonny do? :'(
Well theres the riff at the end..... Surely you didn't miss that??
@@markforrest9958he rolled with it perfectly I thought

i wish they will play it with an orchestra, it'd be awesome
bollywood inside I saw them at msg it's awesome stripped down with guitars too
Break of Reality = D !!
And exit music as well!
Well, Johnny Greenwood is basically a one-man orchestra
but this was awesome
I just realized Jonny does the most work in live shows. He plays multiple instruments in many songs.
He is the only one who actually plays the radio in the band :D
He also write’s for movies! He’s a beast.

Ed looks like he's just strolled right outta church
lol
Haha right? Dude's tight 😎
Love the reverb effect on the "buuuuurn the wiiiitch" part
Vic Aguilar I think I listen to this song almost everyday

Zatojawed Man I second that. This is one sexy version of the song.
I assume this is how it would have sounded on Hail to the Thief
Paranoid thematic goes better with A Hail to the thief overall concept
I like how Thom suddenly decides he's a pirate at 2:43
He became Jack White in that moment.
Hahahaha Underrated comment
@@YourLoyalDeserterFOR REALLLLL
Only Radiohead can deliver a live performance with such quality sound effect.
Well, Tool can, as well as Jacob Collier, Snarky Puppy, Godspeed you black emperor. All the Greats can, and I count RH in (ofc)
I think this is the best performance of this song. So far...
Gerard Mc Ginnity Yeaah

Jonny is to Radiohead as George Martin was to Beatles.
They're all amazing musicians. I think Ed, Phil, Colin are really underrated and under appreciated.
Burn the witch, fulstop and deck dark is brilliant
The fact that Thom can switch from playful voice to serious voice falsetto so effortlessly in the prechorus and chorus always impressed me 👏🏿
I learnt to change from falsetto to normal and vice versa while practicing creep :D
@@akshayumbare9738yup, I have also, I like to sing the "but I'm a creep", part, with high soprano, it sounds quite nice actually
I love watching Jonny perform - there's just something about the way he switches between his box of tricks and guitar which is utterly mesmerising.
I always come for the insane guitar outro.
Radiohead is far and away the best sounding live band Ive ever heard. They are always exquisite live
Thom's voice so freaking fantastic!
Is there anything that Jonny can't do? Really. I want to know.
Fly
Can't bring Harambe back to life....
sorry my fríend, but i know, he can fly!!!!
sing
cant take his hair out of his face

So much better than the record version. This is the definitive version for me. That end guitar riff from Jonny blows me away every time
All I can say is woah this is so haunting.
This version is sooooooooo good

that chorus !!
long these guys!...been 20 years since I first heard "Paranoid android' from their 'OK computer' on the telly, back when MTV played actual music videos... never felt a day older..
When I saw them do this live they just decided it was a punk song and went hard. Awesome their last album has that type of song
Bloody love this song!
My just heart dropped when the chorus kicked in. Radiohead neaver misses

this nina simone quote keeps popping up in my head every now and then. "to live without fear" or something like that. awsome.
grandioso...genios
Wow. I LOVE what they do to this song live. This sounds great.
I want to freaking see them live
You cannot get any more intense than that --- These guys are way, way, way out there... It is unfuckwithable...
When the song sounds better live than in original…. 🤞🏻
How good is that. Fantastic.
"I'll tell you what freedom is for me: No Fear. I mean really, No Fear!" - Nina Simone
Oh my gosh! Jonny's posture is good!
whoa.....this is so menacing!
The guitar solo of Jonny is too short!!!!!
Johnny the GOAT.. sublimee…
Really good
Jonny is just sound waves as a human
Chilling
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!
Eles são perfeitos 😢❤❤❤❤
lollapalooza 2016!!!!!
I hope this is one of the songs on the new Miami Vice television show.
The atypical vocal phrasing in the verses sounds a little like Howard Devoto.

What is wrong with American crowds. Just sterile and corporate. If this was played in Glasgow the crowd would tear it up.
this is amazing i really wish they do amsp from the basement
Please let this be a guest feature song on the new Miami Vice television series show.
"The usual sir?" "Please." (puts in Maxell tape [wind storm])
If you float, you burn.
We all float down here. Hee Hee. 🤡🤡
The live version of burn the witch kinda feels way more powerful cuz it sounds like a rock anthem
Without the strings, what's the point

Why are so many people filming it on their phones? Why can't people just live in the moment?
Exactly
Jacorpes01 FOR REAL!? Get off your damn phones and watch true legends!
Kroll 19 oh get off it. you know this is the band that was pretty much promoting going out there and streaming the shows on your phone, right?

Can any living band touch RH? I think not.
No, not in recorded human history.
Fucking celphones.
Amazing performance.

NINA Simone!! No fear
Much better than the studio version in my opinion. The orchestra kills it for me.
Hahahaha😂😂😂😂
Lol what??
this fuckin song man
What’s the audio at the beginning?
What if I don't wanna burn the witch?
faster jonny
Nina Simone in the background?
He messed up on the first line

Nina Simone? 🤔

Colin, the anti-star :-)
All the best bass players just stand there.

True. He's not normally this pitchy.

It is great except thom's vocal in some parts, wtf is that pirate screaming it sounds bad
Never rated thom as a live vocalist
