- Second instalment of my AGT Vixen chat.
Not my best video. Struggled to get this one done.
Grab a tea / coffee / beer, this is a long one. Sorry.
Thanks to Leicestershire Airguns for the loan of the rifle.
A fabulous video as always, with no need to apologise for it being lengthy. Really enjoyed your views on that Vixen and chatting about the fun that you achieved with it.
You made a good point about the need to get the younger generation introduced to air gunning, very valid.
Having enjoyed the sport for more years than I’d like to say it’s been my absolute pleasure to have introduce and involved my three sons to the sport. Years on they still enjoy shooting and recently even did some clay pigeon shooting which they loved. On reflection they’re now heading towards the ranks of middle age, where did the time go 😳
Looking forward to more reviews, cheers and thanks a lot 👍
Mate thanks for the positive feed back. It really makes it worthwhile putting the time and effort in when I get to see that people get some value from these videos.
I do worry about the longevity of sport shooting in this country. We are facing huge issues in terms of the move towards lead free ammunition and the aging demographic involved in broad brush shooting sports in the uk. I find it immensely depressing that there is no unified, cohesive representation of all shooting sports in the UK. We all need to stand together, no mater what comes out of the barrel, bb, shot, slug or bullet. We are still a very niche portion of the population however if we actually respected each other and worked together maybe shooting sports could have a brighter future in our country.

I wholeheartedly hope you’re right. And yes, legislation to further constrict our sport is a very real issue, be it having to use ‘dodgy’ non lead pellets (hopefully they’ll improve) to even the possibility of licensing our air guns. Hey, in this wacky world sadly anything is possible but importantly we need to show that us shooters above all are responsible people.
Finally, thank you for your channel, it’s normal and down to earth 👍
To pick apart the issues that surround shooting sports in the UK would take hours at best. However I truly believe it would take me longer to be able to detail the benefits.
We have a serious issue with the general public. Those that are involved in shooting sports are a minority with a very poor image in the eyes of the mass majority. We need to sort this out.
You didn’t stop smiling all the way through that video 😂👍🏼
Lovely Guns the AGTs,especially that vixen. What a gorgeous compact little gun.
Great review fella👍🏻👍🏻
In case you couldn’t tell, I loved it!
@@gardenguns 😂Oh I could tell.I think if I bought another gun it would be that or the BRK Ghost.
Going to have to check out the Ghost!
I can you love it by the way you can’t stop hugging it! Love it. I’ve recently bought a BRK ghost but still prefer my Vixen,
Cracking video, very well presented and love your style. Liked and subbed.
Thank you. Very much appreciated!
Mine arrives today and I'm so excited I'm still watching reviews on it 😂
I am just a little bit jealous!
Great vid buddy .you have talked me in to my next gun. 👍
Hope you like it as much as I did!
Your smile says it all on this vid!! Totally agree with your view point too regarding making shooting fun & younger generation etc.
I’m super close to buying one of these.
Out of interest, did u think it was noisy for using in your garden?
Hitting the metal knockdowns made more noise! It is quite noisy dry fired, however when fired with a pellet the shroud seems to work pretty well. Not whisper quiet but certainly takes the crack out of it. Hitting a metal backstop will make more noise.
Can't wait to see that ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS rifle on test , its like the classy Sofia Lauren of airguns .. not to say I don't like the AGT , but its a Victoria Beckham , descent looking , but no character , no defining lines .. no wow factor ... probably more accurate though ... a very interesting vid ... keep em coming ..btw I'm 63
Cheers Mark. I am struggling for time at the moment. Work is busy. Hope to have the chat uploaded next week.
Hello. Today I received a new Vixen cal.177. I noticed they increased the magazine from 15 diabol to 16 diabol. The inner rotating part has different shapes and groupings, otherwise everything is as before.
Thank you for the update. 🫡
Great review thanks 👍
Love the Vixen!
From sitting here this video was as good as ever, you are judging yourself rather harshly i think. I have a Uragan and it is an awesome gun but you have made me also want a Vixen now to keep it company :) . I wonder how many pairs of shoes my wife would feel the need to buy to compensate herself :)....... Keep up the good work chap 🤪
Thank you 🙏 really appreciate the positive feedback. This was a tough one to get finished!
You did a verywell good review
Thank you 🙏
I've bought one, but it is in a back order now, so i have to be patient, can't wait
Hope you don’t have to wait too long! It is a great rifle. I would love to have one.
Great video!.....got to ask, what's the classic rifle with the deep bluing at the end, is it a Daystate?
Another great video 😊
Cheers. Much appreciated! 👍
Cheers!
ummm, how long you been carrying spare lead pellets around in your gob? 😅 Very cool piece of gear, thanks.
Just bought mine and its great 👍👌
Awesome! Not jealous at all!
Me too a few weeks ago. Bought a sabre picatinny extension which is an excellent addition imo. Not cheap but worth it. Excellent rifle and I love it.
Super easy to adjust trigger..if its stif..can get u t super lite trigger
Purchased my vixen Long a month ago.. Best all round Rifle for a Tactical weapon of choice,Not fussy with pellets although heavy Diablos seem the best upto now at 30 yard groupings must be the Cold hammer forged barrel, ambidextrous rifle you can swap the lever left to right swap shrouds its lightweight robust.what more can i say 😊
Sounds like you might like it!
It sounded really loud? What did you think about the noise.
Unless you are looking for something that is super quiet, I thought it was ok. Not the quietest but also not the loudest
What power did the Vixen come tuned to? Was it 16J?
For the UK market it is limited to 12 ft/lb. 16 joules is about 11.8 ft/lb.
Do you have your scope mount facing backwards?
You can face a cantilever mount either way depending on your eye relief, scope turrets etc. The vixen has a short section on the rail above the magazine well that isn't picatinny which means you may need to fit your mount one way or the other depending on the reasons I previously mentioned. I'd recommend 2 piece mounts to give a tad more flexibility in the positioning because of that short piece of non picatinny. Hope this helps
I am 55, and it talks to me lol, but i am stuck between that ,and the Ghost short and the Ranger ,great tool for barns ,or out of the truck and general pesting
All good guns from what I have heard. Would love to get my hands on them for a bit of a play. I caved and got an FX Dreamline instead!
@@gardenguns have you done a review on that FX ?
Yes. Went up a week or so ago.
@gardenguns yes watched it ,why did you go for the FX ?
I was offered it at too good a price! Plus I had spent so much time trying to get it to work properly, I am pretty sure I can now fix and tune the rifle should any other gremlins pop up 🤞
Is it noise or you can use it in the backyards
I think it is quiet enough not to cause a noise problem.
hello nice video, do you know the short is much noisier than the long?
I believe the long shroud is more effective. If having the quietest rifle is important, then maybe check out a Uragan with the optional silencer.
@@gardenguns my gunsmith advised me to insert the sound moderator of the felt he did and said it works
😊
So is that an integrated surpressor?
Yes. It’s does an ok job. Fine for back garden plinking or use in environments where there is back ground noise. However if you want super quiet you would have to buy an adaptor and an extra mod.
@@gardenguns thanks for the reply. Is there an actual reason we cant seem to have a true semi automatic 12ftlb airrifle in the uk? As far as i can tell that wouldnt be illegal. Is it just ‘not the done thing?’
To be honest I am not completely sure! I have an idea and I’ll ask about and try to remember to get back to you.
Work kinda gets in the way of this RUclips thing!
I was more interested in the Daystate Huntsman MK2!
To be fair I think they are both great rifles, however what a difference between the 2 in terms of form and ergonomics. Accuracy though, there was nothing in it.
Not for me. I couldn't relax with a high pressure coupling right next to my face.
It was worth the risk! 😁
Should I pay my bills,or buy a new airgun??🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎
I have been instructed to inform you I am not responsible enough to be able to offer an opinion on this. However…………..
Pay yer bills , and have the rifle on the ear hole ...
lvpo with a red dot? weird. and pointless. but do you i guess. red dots with higher mag scopes are used for fast acquisition, but thats what an lvpo is for by itself.
The LVPO and 45 red dot is run by more than a few top IPSC competitors and 3 gun shooters. For mini rifle it allows me to zero the red dot at 15m and my scope for 50m. I can use the dot out to 25 and then transition to the scope for 25 plus. 2 zeros. One set up.
However on this set up, it was more about having fun, rather than practical use!
Smile I said it all but you do get hammer bounce and reg creep !!! Only need fill 250 not going to get much more at 300 bar !!!!
My bottle ran out by the end I was just about getting 200 bar in!
