Ive just put an old classic Bushnel scope on this to zero it in at 25 its pellet on pellet . Take it out tomorrow down the farm and try it at proper ranges
@fieldsportcymru4636 wow your getting me excited lol ,don't mind me asking but how much did you pay ,I've seen some second hand ones with all the kit ,but you don't know if they are OK, cheapest new ive seen was just over £1100
@fieldsportcymru4636 cheers m8 and thanks for the videos ,I know you are honest about the pros and cons ,to many out there getting free stuff and saying it's great 👍
I bought a vixen short in may and I love it 👍 it's so so accurate . Only thing am not sure about is voiding the warranty if I go with an external moderator !?🤔
Very nice, reminds me of of my old S16 Logun in style. The 20 year technical improvement is obvious and impressive. For your stated purpose it should be excellent. I'll look forward to seeing it in action. 😊👍✌️🏴
I have Vixen 177 long, absolutely fantastic rifle, watch out for the plastic handrail, its garbage and your POI will change as much as an inch! I replaced mine with alloy one from vector air. I have seen dozens of people complain about POI change due to the original handrail, i couldn't see the handrail being responsible for POI change, anyway it was definitely the culprit and no more problems 👍
Well, i tried pushing the plastic rail and couldn't see any contact on shroud, after seeing dozens of similar issues in FB Vixen group like almost everyone had POI issues, they were all solved by buying an alloy rail. Not cheap 125quid Vector air.
@24745037 wonder why, this ,must be because its affecting movement on the barrel ,we had this on the range ,ppl were resting their rifle barrels on rests , and this then upsets the harmonics
@24745037 just found out you can put a small plastic washer between the sroud and the receiver on the plastic rail, and this stops any change in POI ,saves spending £125 on the aluminium guard
@24745037 Hunting with airguns ,has done a video showing if you fit a small plastic washer between the sroud and the receiver, this stops any shift in POI ,saves buying a new guard for £125 ,unless you want one of course 😉
I saw an adaptor for the Vixen to allow you to fit other bottles. Its on Vector Air for £40. Seen your comment so thought I'd mention it. Not sure about the stock you'd have to look into that whether it would fit other sized bottles. Probably only if the bottle was the same diameter.
I have a Daystate Wolverine R Hi-Lite. £1700 and only one magazine. It’s a beautiful rifle, but come on Daystate, don’t be mean. If I wanted to buy a second magazine, it would cost me £75. Fortunately, I only shoot HFT, so only use the single shot. I did buy the Rowan flip out single shot. That was about the same price as the magazine, but makes life a lot easier to load the rifle. 👍
I JUST WANTED TO COPY THIS RESPONSE TO YOUR REVIEW OF THE BRISTISH GUN SHOW A FEW WEEKS AGO. So you sat there for 15 mins or so and all you did was "rubbish" every product and every company. It's so easy to criticise sitting on a warm seat, with lots of noise in the background!!(Very unprofessional). If buyers don't like limited editions, traditional or modern designs, it's simple DON'T but the rifle, its that easy. I think you are condescending to the air gun community, they are very astute what they want and what to buy, all you say its "rubbish' it's "dire". There are many new idea's, buyer will do their research and buy accordingly. You come across as a "grumpy old man" and it was better "in my day when I was a lad". And to finish YOU DID NOT EVEN GO TO THE SHOW, too mean to spend the petrol money and buy a ticket!! If you don't like what's happening in the market, don't stay involved and find a new hobby, maybe reading!! Mind you if you took up reading, you would say every book, magazine, leaflet is dire, it's rubbish.

Hi buddy, when i read comments like this i normally ignore of just think ohh well its his opinion, i don't normally see Paul? rubbish the things he buys, and boy he's gone through a lot of stuff, i think what he was getting at is that some manufacturers are just putting ' Go faster stripes' o their products instead of makeing some more interesting designs like say the Czech manufacturers are steaming ahead. I could be wrong of course. Now Paul has made a massive silly move by selling his Steyr 🤣
@@24745037 Hi, thanks for your reply and taking the time to send it, appreciated. I found Paul's review quite annoying as it came across as just whinging and complaining about manufacturers. As I said the gun community are very astute and they are fully aware what is good/bad/ and what is good value for money before they part with their cash. I see your point about "Go Faster Stripes" and to a point I agree, but again no one is forced to buy. After Covid, Brexit, Ukraine, Power Bill Shocks, and the Cost Of Living increases in general we are all fully aware of the rise in prices and the challenge of delivery for raw materials,I'm actually impressed what the manufacturers has achieved since the Covid Shock. The manufacturers are running a business, make profits, keep staff employed and bring out new products after their R and D. So Paul sitting on his settee with lots of noise in the background!! rubbishing BSA,AA and many others I found particularly "irksome" and to then finally say the British Shooting Show was poor due to to lack of new product was factually incorrect and to then state he did NOT even attend for me was the final straw. The show was great, professional and very well attended, some stands particularly the Optics manufacturers had some of the best sales ever and at times it was difficult to even to look at the products it was so busy. Yes, the cost of entry has gone up, what hasn't over the last two years, have you seen the prices for sports, theatre, country shows, they also have gone up massively. Paul often say its dire, its rubbish, well to be honest anyone can criticise that's easy. How about turning it around, manufactures let's see this and that. Ahh that is the tough challenge and a little more thought is required. Well I kinda think that's it. I just wanted to stress I do NOT work in the industry, I have worked all my career in IT. Regards And Thanks.
The good thing about these is the weight makes them so easy to handle makes them fun to use.

@@malcolmdonnison3987 know what you mean as you need to drill small bolt holes in the baffle to fit the adapter from what I've seen
Will these things last 5 years without any issues.Springers are definitely coming back.
Know what your saying about springer rifles
Cracking hunting rifles

Is this because it pushes against the barrel sroud?

I want to ask you about this visen gun, is it possible?
Can you change the bottle size for 500cc bottle
I dont think so as the butt is made to fit the bottle . To be honest it would seem unnecessary anyway

I,m more impressed about the Rockstead knife yesterday buddy! I would have gone for the FX DRS walnut instead of the Vixen😉
Lol funny you should say that im waiting on one . Apparently a big delay on the walnut version
