Thank you for a wonderful studio tour, Sandi! It was so interesting to see how you organize your space and supplies. I like the functional way you organize your brushes and working sketchbooks. I also loved the beautiful intro. ❤
Super super fab video- firstly you look so beautiful and I loved that your studio echo’s some of the things going on in mine- so I feel it’s very authentic. Must dash, got many more of your videos too watch xx
I've watched this video before and it's worth a second look. I, too, love that it's not over run with IKEA furniture. I love the eclectic look of it and all of the creative ways you use vintage storage. Ikea is good too but I would have to paint it to make it my own. Fun video to watch again. Hugs, Diana.
I’d have to paint ikea furniture too Diana 😂! I like to hunt for my furniture at local antique shops and flea markets. I’m not a big box furniture kind of person. Thank you!
Such a special studio ❤️It's so warm and cozy and charming, simply abundant with character 😍 All the little special touches were so heart warming, from your grandmother's painted piece to that wonderful banner. It's just brimming with love, what a delight to watch. You are so beautiful as well, your spirit is so lovely ❤️
I love the "new" studio Sandi. It's very bright, airy, organized and also full of life. I love the layers of cool things like old boxes and special objects and paintings. Thank you for sharing! ❤️
So glad you liked it Karen! The "organized" part will fall apart pretty quickly. I have really enjoyed how neat and tidy it is and each day at the end of the day I've been trying really hard to put everything back in it's place and trying to keep "pile" and "stacks" from happening - we'll see how long that lasts though. thank you for watching and commenting!
i love your channel Sandi. I watch it every day - even on the days I don't have the opportunities to make art. You inspire me to not fret over the "mistakes" in my art - allowing me to have THAT much more fun in the process, please keep uploading & thank you
Thank you so much for inviting me into your home. I love your studio! I love the light and all the goodies you have in there. I bet you are a fabulous teacher. You have certainly made a great impression on all those children. Loved watching your tour. -Penny
Hello Sandi!! I've just spent the past two weeks watching every art/craft studio tour I could find (or RUclips let me find) and I absolutely hands down have to say that of all of them yours was the BEST. I know this isn't a competition teehee, but I just wanted to tell you that I now feel like hours of my life spent watching other people show me their lovely rooms has been fully rewarded because I found your channel and I LOVE your videos! I've been watching tons of them over the last week (and my 6 year old also enjoyed having you on in the background last weekend when he was sitting and drawing). I haven't commented on the ones we watched but if I have a chance I will go back and do so. I was very relieved to find out your latest video entitled 'bye bye' wasnt you quitting RUclips. Phew! We loved that one especially. My son thought you saying bye bye to the bananas was excellent. I haven't seen anyone else provide such information and background in such a cheerful and pleasant way in a long time. So thank you for sharing what you do. I for one really very much appreciate it. I don't paint abstract on an easel but you are seriously tempting me haha so we shall see! xxx
Emily, sounds like you've been busy! I love studio tours too!!! Thank you for ALL your kind words!! I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos and that your son liked the bye bye banana made my day. New video comes out in a few minutes! Thanks again for such a kind comment.
I loved the video, it is such a warm and welcoming studio and so much space. Thank you to Mr Grady who did a lot of painting, building and organising. Its great!!
Gaye, I'm so glad you thanked Grady - I was thinking yesterday that I should have thanked him in the video. He did a ton of work for me and is always sooooooooo supportive of me - I love that man!
I moved last week (moving in a pandemic is exactly as dramatic as you might imagine) and the last room for me to organize today was my studio. After sitting here for at least a half hour with no motivation and feeling cranky because I just wanted my supplies out so I could dive in, I decided to search RUclips for studio tours for inspiration. Yours was the first one I clicked on and I've been listening to your videos all day while I worked away in my new space. Thanks so much for sharing, it made such a big difference for me! Best! Lindsey
I think you're adorable. I can imagine you as a little kid, because I can see her in there. That doesn't happen often. Thanks for the tour. Love your studio.
Thank you Sandi for sharing. 🙏🏽 Love your generosity and of course your studio tour. Not just an inspirational studio to work in but a connection to family, friends and special memories surround you in every corner. 😁👩🏻🎨
Kathleen well said and well observed - I do like to surround myself with the sweet memories of life. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for your kind comment! ❤️
Your studio is gorgeous! (As well as your hair! 😍) It’s cozy, inviting and well organized! And it’s full of light! It’s a perfect working place for an artist. It also reflects perfectly you cheerful personality. Love it! I also love your figurines!
Awe, thank you Lena!!! I cracked up at the hair comment. I think everyone else likes my hair more than me - I'm always thinking "I can't believe I'm filming with my hair looking like this!". Thank you for your kind comments about my space and thanks for taking time to watch and comment - means a lot!
I stumbled upon your channel and I'm in love 💕 I really like your relaxed attitude and take on just having fun with art. You don't take yourself too serious and it's very relatable. Your studio is perfection. I love how you use antique furniture not some random Ikea stuff. You're so inspiring. I hope to have a studio half as great as yours!
Ohhhhhh Judy, I'm so glad you liked it - whoooohoooo! I left out soooo many parts where I talk about everything in each drawer - I was afraid people would be bored but I'm really glad you liked it. Thank you for the koodos on filming! I'm trying to learn as I go. Grady says I make him dizzy .
Great Video, good to see you have lots of art and crafty things in lovely old boxes and baskets. l'm just about to set up my new studio and you've given me lots of tips and ideas...... l can't wait to start emptying my supplies and finding spaces for all my art and craft supplies. Loved it!!
Wow! Your studio is so awesome Sandi, it's like a dream artist's den and you can see how well equipped it is, as well as the brilliant paint job ;). I can also imagine how any kids visiting would fall in love with art and your enthusiasm. Also loved the outside video of the windows being opened and closed, soo good!
Awe, thank you so much Mel! And yes, Grady did a brilliant job - I love that man so much! He's sooooooo supportive of me! Thank you for your kind comments! I'm going to be listening to the season 2 first episode again today :). Thank you friend!
Watching this just made me feel so wholesome inside. Your videos are a bit like going to Grandma's house. It's quaint and homey and safe. Your studio is beautiful. I love all ghe DIY's and repurposed items and mementoes.
Hi, I just found your channel and subscribed. I love, love, love your studio and house. Your studio has given me such inspiration for my studio. Thank you for posting this video.
Well goodness - thank you and welcome! So glad to have you here. Thank you so much for taking time to let me know you're enjoying the videos and that they've been inspiring! I really appreciate it!
I just came across this video but I am so glad that I finally came along a tour of someone else that also has their art room in something other than full white. I can’t say I don’t have a lot of ikea furniture in there but I recently painted the whole room and ikea bookshelves in a beautiful moss green. I will never be going back to a fully white sterile work space again! I do love all the personality absolutely shining in this room to give you a creative space ❤
Looks like a fun studio. Windows to inspire and I do love your yellow shelving. They look like old veggie bins. (-sandy-) oh loving the dog head carving.
Loving the new space and may have a bit of studio envy!! Enjoy it and those lion paintings are so big and wonderful and look even juicier in 'real life'!! xx 🎇💗
Hi Sandy, I just discovered you on here this evening and subscribed! I think your adorable, so talented, and I'm loving your studio!! So many windows, love the colors, and REALLY love that yellow cubby!! I cannot wait to see what else you have been up to! Thanks for the share.
Oh thank you! Welcome!!! I'm so glad you like my studio - I love being in here creating! Thank you for your kind words and I hope you enjoy some of the other videos too!
I love this video! I knew it would be good. You were awesome and never disappoint. I’m so glad you are feeling better and in the pink of health! Your studio looks wonderful and inviting to paint and create in. I like how your studio looks when you’re working and it’s even more wonderful and inviting to paint and create in. You have decorated your breakfast nook in such a darling manner, I love it. I am looking forward to your next video and learning how to make the wonderful faces. I have my Lyra Aquacolor sticks and ready to go! 🤗💕🧑🏼🎨👩🏻🎨~Fran
Ohhhhh, I'm SOOOOO glad you like it - thank you so much for your kind words! I really hope the next video/lesson on simplified face features helps a lot of you guys. Grady did the lesson and he rocked it so I think it will be helpful to art people too (if he can do it anyone can do it!).
Someone once said "wow, there is a lot of stuff in here"... He was right! Very well organized and boxed in neat old boxes (like 90 of them) though. And that paint-job on the walls and ceiling, wow, looks great! Really - a fun and inviting video. Well done, as always!
I just discovered your channel and love your studio, especially the old door pegboard and the nook where you display all your beautiful memorabilia ! Thank you !
Omggggg amazing! I finally feel like I get why the studio space is important for the process of making art. Our environment is what directs our creativity! Also it’s about creating a system within a space that works for you as an artist. As an artist it’s important to have structure and be organized! The way you have all your materials placed and displayed out so you can easily spot/grab what you need! I always thought I was worrying too much about how to store my materials but you’ve helped me realize it’s needed! Yay! You’re teaching me a lot, thank you for sharing!! 😍✨♥️ 🎃
Oh good - I'm so glad you enjoyed it Laura! And I'm glad you got some ideas from it - whoooohooo. Now I'm sitting here thought thinking "what ideas did I share?" Didn't think I showed stuff that would give ideas but I'm glad that you got some!
@@sandihester My studio is actually a smallish repurposed bedroom, so I do a lot of tweaking on a regular basis with my space for painting, organizing supplies and storing art. Sometimes feels like an avalanche waiting to happen! 😁 I really like the idea of magnetized display with tacks along the edges of your shelves - and of the metal sheeting you plan to put on the wall - so you can switch things up easily. In a more spiritual, creative sense, I just love that your space is so you, so your art. I love my space and am so grateful to have it, but it could be more 'me' beyond the stacks of my art on shelves and in drawers, beyond my piles of paints, books, papers, jars of brushes...Being an artist is such a solitary pursuit, which suits me very well, but I think the pandemic has intensified my tendency to live in my head/heart without much relief. Good for art making, maybe hard for coping with the world right now? And seeing how you've customized your space just breathes new life into the potential of mine being more me. So, thank you for the nudge!
What a beautiful studio!! I love how much natural light you have from so many windows. Everything is beautifully decorated with a great sense of artsy style. 👌🏼🧡 Mine is a small room but needs urgent reorganising! 😅
Thank you so much Alyona - I'm so glad you like it! Man oh man, I didn't realize how badly mine needed cleaning out and reorganizing - I'm enjoying it so much more now!
Your studio is lovely Sandi! I adore how functional, cute and the homey + cozy feeling about it. I am dreaming about my own home studio one day, so inspired by yours!
Elga I'm so glad you like it - I love going in there and working! But for YEARS I just used my kitchen table or kitchen island - just a small place in your house will work!
Loved watching this video. Really liked how you organized your paintings. Looking forward to your next video on drawing faces. Sketched a wonky picture of my grandsons. Not easy being wonky. Have to keep practicing. Byeeee 🙋🏼♀️🌻🇨🇦❤️❤️
Good job Suzanne!!! You're right - it's not easy being wonky. I will be curious to know if the next video/lesson will be a help. Also, kids are hard Suzanne!!!! HARD! So glad you enjoyed the video!!!!!!!
I was really looking forward to seeing this video and it's soooo pretty!! Your studio is beautiful and the filming was so calming to watch. Thanks for sharing xx
May be off topic but you should try making paint brush people with your old brushes. It would totally go with you art room. Your art room is an inspiration of what I would love in the future.
HARRY THE DIRTY DOG! I haven’t seen that book since I was a little kid ! I’m going to call my dad tomorrow and see if we still have it (he doesn’t throw anything away🤞🏼). Love the space!
Absolutely loved the detailed tour of your studio, it's beautiful and omg am I in love with your paintings and drawings ❤️ also love the kettles you have for reference purposes.. tempting to start my own collection of props and things 😀
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the kind comments about the studio and my work!!!! I would encourage you to just look around your house and kitchen - you probably already have a wonderful collection of things that would be fun to draw and paint! My collection has taken years to grow - but they are fun to collect!
Sandi the metal sheet hung on the wall idea is brilliant! What type of metal/gauge did you end up using? Will check your other studio videos to see the end result 🤗
That dog carving is so cute. Your cabinet for oil drying sheets maybe buy dollar store cookie racks and use as shelves? Like use nails or something for them to rest on as shelves.
I am new to your channel and have been binge watching your videos. Love your studio and love your art style. Going to order me some of the water color crayons, they look like so much fun. Your sweet, fun personality is exactly what I have been looking for while learning a new art. Your extra wide watch cuff is amazing, could you share where you got it? It looks blue (?) on the videos I have seen.........
Well, welcome Pam - so glad to have you here and I'm thrilled you've been enjoying the videos!!!! I love a good binge watcher :)! I think I got that watch ages ago at World Market.
@@sandihester Well shoot about the watch. Today has been a lazy day here, cloudy, dreary day. So guess which videos I have watching today.....yep..yours.You have the best personality....and of course talent. You videos are so full of great info, learned how to properly clean brushes today....afraid I would have failed a brush cleaning test....other then rinsing and laying on a towel! Can not wait to get my paints out and start playing again.....
@@pambuike4587 awe, Pam, what a great comment to get. Thank you for taking time to leave such encouraging messages - I really really appreciate you watching and being so kind! Sooooooo glad this space is a place of inspiration for you 🙌. Sorry about the watch 😔
I have a set of pliers in my art box for the same reason! I could NOT get the cap off of a couple of the oils. I also have to use rubber bands on bottles and jars. I have no built-in grippers.
@@sandihester Well, I used to have a jar opener made of rubber that I got from the Jitney Jungle food festival a million years ago. Now I just save the thick rubber bands off of the asparagus or egg cartons. :)
I use to only have a small counter top in my kitchen - that's where I started so I am really thankful for this space but just create in whatever space you have!
I’m so happy I found your channel.
I'm so glad too!
Binge watching you.love everything Thankyou
Thank you for watching and I’m so glad you’re enjoying the videos!!!!
Love the doggy looking through the window
The intro with the outside windows is so beautiful. Like a painting in it's own way :)
Awe- thank you! That was fun to film!
What an inspiring place to create! So nice to see a lovingly curated space that is not overrun with IKEA furniture! So blessed!
Thanks so much! 😊
I love the organization of the studio. It’s all uncluttered but accessible. One of the best studios I have seen.
And I think one of the reasons it’s the best visually is because of all the little collectibles that you include.
And the unique varied tables and cabinets. So much storage!
I appreciate your comment. I also feel bad that she didn't respond!😢
Thank you for a wonderful studio tour, Sandi! It was so interesting to see how you organize your space and supplies. I like the functional way you organize your brushes and working sketchbooks. I also loved the beautiful intro. ❤
You are amazing so happy so full of fun it shows up in your paintings great,I have painted for years blessings from Australia.

That's awesome that you got this from the video - whooohooo - so glad it was a help! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks for sharing! Loved 'spending time with you' in your beautiful studio. Some great ideas to borrow...
My closets are in avalanche mode for sure!!! totally get that! Thank you for sharing.
@@sandihester 😁
What a beautiful studio!! I love how much natural light you have from so many windows. Everything is beautifully decorated with a great sense of artsy style. 👌🏼🧡
Mine is a small room but needs urgent reorganising!
Great space!
Thank you Pam!
I love your art! Also that’s cool you’re from Tennessee!! 😆💕
Love the cubbies. (And admire the organization, ‘natch) . Welcoming place, yellow is always a hopeful color, isn’t it?🐦
Thank you!!!
I absolutely love watching her paint, she's so hilarious
Hello there I'm BARRY and it would be nice if we get to know each other if you don't mind

@@sandihester ❤️🙋🏼♀️
I was really looking forward to seeing this video and it's soooo pretty!! Your studio is beautiful and the filming was so calming to watch. Thanks for sharing xx
Ohhhh thank you Brittany - I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!!! Hope you're doing well!
May be off topic but you should try making paint brush people with your old brushes. It would totally go with you art room. Your art room is an inspiration of what I would love in the future.
:)
Inspiring!! ♥️
HARRY THE DIRTY DOG! I haven’t seen that book since I was a little kid ! I’m going to call my dad tomorrow and see if we still have it (he doesn’t throw anything away🤞🏼). Love the space!
I loved this comment! That is one of the few books up there that is from my childhood too - I kept it all this time. I think it's so cute.
Wonderful !! ❤️
Sooooooo glad you liked it Pat!!!!
Its like 3~4 am in Brazil right now and you made me get up of my bed inspired to paint, and organize my studio. ❤️
Wow!!!! That’s crazy! Hope you had fun doing it. Thanks for watching Tami!
Sandi the metal sheet hung on the wall idea is brilliant! What type of metal/gauge did you end up using? Will check your other studio videos to see the end result 🤗
Grady said it was something used for the air-conditioning :). Whatever you use just make sure it's magnetic - all metals aren't magnetic.
That dog carving is so cute. Your cabinet for oil drying sheets maybe buy dollar store cookie racks and use as shelves? Like use nails or something for them to rest on as shelves.
Yes, much better than constructing them by hand... I'm for this! Thanks for the idea, Elin
I noticed Grady piped in quickly on this comment (ha ha)! He didn't learn about the shelf until he watched the video (nice way of hinting isn't it?!).
@@gradyhester4456 lol efficient I’d my middle name 😆
@@sandihester 😆 great hinting! You’re next video should have your gift wishlist in it 😁Incase ppl you know need gift ideas 🤪🤔
@@ElinWinblad GREAT idea Elin!!!!
I love your studio. Mine is always such a mess. I need to work on it!
Thank you Lori! Mine is always a mess too! It won't ever look like this again - trust me! Thanks for watching!
You have a beautiful house💕💕💕
Thank you so much!
Lovely studio! I'm sure I have that same "Song Birds" book as well!
Thank you! That’s funny about the bird book!
@@sandihester It is! I would double check but all of our stuff is in storage at the moment.
Do you have a house tour video? You seem to have a nice grasp on color palettes for the interior of homes, like an interior decorator.
Sandi, what type of wood do you use for your wood panels,I’m thinking of making my own too ?
Just the smoothest cheapest wood at the hardware store
I have a set of pliers in my art box for the same reason! I could NOT get the cap off of a couple of the oils. I also have to use rubber bands on bottles and jars. I have no built-in grippers.
Oh, that's a great idea using rubber bands - never thought of that
@@sandihester Well, I used to have a jar opener made of rubber that I got from the Jitney Jungle food festival a million years ago. Now I just save the thick rubber bands off of the asparagus or egg cartons. :)
😂- I love it!
I like your spray bottle that I sometimes see you using.
I wish i can have a studio like yours🥺❤️
I use to only have a small counter top in my kitchen - that's where I started so I am really thankful for this space but just create in whatever space you have!
Sandi, where did you get your favorite eraser?
Sandi, When did you start drawing?
I share my art journey here ruclips.net/video/t9QDahh51dQ/видео.html
