I like the idea of the solo bach trip. I really like it for the fact that your friends can do something in Hawaii if they really want to. Plus, it’s not like you are saying your close friends can’t go. You’re just saying here are my plans, the date and maybe place. Come if you like! 🥳
Not sure if you’ve already answered this, but how do you talk about your financial goals now that you’re an engaged couple? Would love to see a video about combining financial goals!
that millisecond hesitation at 25:22 😂😂 solo bachelorette sounds great! it's probably one of the most selfless, mindful, and self care thing you can do for yourself, and for others, because you're not forcing what you want on your friends
The best way to keep your dog trained is for a trainer to come work with you. The dog training away only works as far as building habits while you're away - but being trained with a trainer alongside you consistently helps establish a great way to communicate with your animals. Also I would suggest Colorado for your bach party :)
One week of postpartum care for me was $1000 (i'm in socal) and that was on the lower side because we knew the caretaker. Honestly I would recommend at least 5 weeks postpartum care which would be around $7000 especially if your parents arent able to come help. i'm not sure about doulas during pregancy but i hope that helps with your budget!

Thank you for sharing your financial goals for 2022 Aja! Do you also track your Savings Rate each month and year? I find this helpful when planning for investments and financial freedom/work optional. For dog training, we did a board and train when ours was a puppy and also used the "Training the Best Dog Ever 5-Week Program" at home with positive reinforcement. We did a one month honeymoon in Italy. We budgeted $10k and we definitely travelled well and pampered ourselves well, and $10k was perfect for everything that we did.
The thought of a solo bachelorette is so fun!! There are so many days when I just think about what it'll be like to just relax somewhere tropical and be by myself and not have a worry in the world 😌 Would def consider that for mine when the time comes!
Love the enchantment resort / mii amo! I went there with a girl friend, and it was the best hiking, food, and massages! I highly recommend, I cannot wait to go back - maybe for my own solo bachelorette too :)

I used to have Simple as my bank account which was similar to Digit. now I’m with One Finance and love it as well. Having buckets/pockets/envelopes is a tried and true visual way of budgeting. With One Finance, they also allow a debit card per pocket which is pretty cool too. But either way, great great video. Thanks. I’m currently doing an overview of all my spending and trying to do better next year. Cuz whew! 2021 was a beast.
Like you said, one of your best videos of the year! I enjoyed the level of detail you provided. I wish us all a financially stable and goal achieving year. Thank you for sharing Aja!
Financial planning is so relaxing to me, but this time i have no job for next year and i have no idea what i’ll do. Luckily, my parents are very supportive so i’m moving back in with them and they are homeowners, so they are not charging me for groceries or rent or utilities at all. I even sold my car so i can move back and at least keep my savings instead of spending them. I guess my financial goal for this year is getting a job. I am debt free and with them my only concern is literally just looking for a job (i am single, no kids, no pets). I really hope i find a job. I have been working as a university teacher, but I don’t see myself teaching for the rest of my life and academia doesn’t pay well at all, specially in my country, but we’ll see. I hope i can find one that i can do remotely so i can stay at my parents for a while so i can save the most amount of money possible.
Wishing you Good luck! I know some former teachers who are teaching English remotely on the side or full Time. You can google some agencies who can facilitate that.
This is broad but think out what you want, where do you want to go? It might mean teaching as a freelancer but you can use that to leverage into other opportunities. Hope this helps a bit!
Great video! Planning out your finances for the year does wonders to make things so much less stressful for me, especially planning around my mindful money number! xCC
I used to work in Sedona in hospitality and the Enchantment really is as awesome as everyone says it is. It is a little outside in the Red Rocks, so very private and secluded. As for Sedona is is a cool spiritual town with breathtaking views and great hiking trails. Definitely try one of the Jeep tours or the hot air balloon.
I really enjoyed your financial planning for next year! I’m looking forward to using the digital master plan to incorporate planning for my sinking funds. I think it would be super helpful to see ways to include investment tracking such as retirement funds, crypto, stocks etc.
What are your best suggestions for starting sinking fund savings when you also have a lot of debt you're trying to pay off? Right now we don't have a lot of extra funds we can save, but we do want to at least set up an emergency fund as well as save up for our property taxes that are due at the end of every year.
I love this!! Last year, thanks to your inspiring videos, I hit my financial goal of saving a target amount (it was around 20% of my total income which was partly achievable as over the year I changed jobs and had a slight raise I negotiated knowing what I needed in order to do that). I experienced much less financial anxiety going into 2022 and now I also have no problems saying "no" to friends who want to spend larger amounts of money on experiences.. which in the past has always been my kryptonite. And I have an even higher goal to hit this year!
I do the same with N26. I only have one account and there’s this thing called “spaces” where you can put all your goals and you can even set a deadline. So convenient!
Enchantment is very nice. Also checkout Canyon Ranch and Miraval in Tucson, Miraval Austin and Miraval Berkshires in Massachusetts - beautiful in July!
A solo bachelorette party sounds fantastic! kudos to you for planning it and being relaxed on the somone might or might not join you part, it sounds absolutely fantastic :)
I am also getting married in 2022 in Hawaiʻi. Luckily I am already here and both of our families live here so I feel like that cut out a lot of expenses. Our budget is $5,000 lol am I going to be able to stick with it? We shall see! Luckily we both have amazing and supportive families who want to help us financially with this wedding😁
If you have co-insurance (we had 20% at the time, LA area, with Kaiser for one kiddo and Anthem? PPO for the other), think I out of pocket paid about $8K per kid (no complications, vaginal birth, $2k deductible). BUT that being said, kids are always more expensive than you expect. Son had a fever just over 101 at 1 month old (probably thanks to big sister going to daycare). Went to the ER and they admit you if it's an infant under 60 days ... 3 days in pediatrics, never figured out what he was sick with (really only had a fever), but that was a hefty bill too. $15K is definitely a good base point ... worst case scenario, you don't need it and you have extra cash to throw into investments, etc. If you have extra too, night nurse!
Solo bachelorette party sounds amazing!! I think I will do that for myself lol. Thanks for sharing, Aja! Creating systems for financial tracking and planning can be very overwhelming so seeing examples of your methods has been incredibly helpful!
Maui (recommend nYlos since you’re a foodie!) , Puerto Vallarta and Las Vegas (sparrow+wolf off the strip is our fav restaurant again for your foodie side) we basically just ate the whole time we were on our honeymoons.

Well, we already started february but I think I'm still on time to set some realistic financial goals. Love your video, thank you, I wasn't sure on how to start.
I really wish these financial planning videos/sinking funds would apply to me but I am just in so much debt I just can't begin to save.. :( one day I will look back to these videos for help saving money.
My daughter’s birth in 2017 cost $4k out-of-pocket. $2600 was to the midwifery practice I used for prenatal care; they were out-of-network. The rest was to the hospital for baby care and my birth. I only spent 16 hours in the hospital since I gave birth in the birthing center and I was low-risk at the time. It would’ve cost alot more if I stayed another night. I did not use anyone postpartum.
I manage Italy for 2 weeks with under $1000. I would suggest spend less time in the tourist cities like Rome, Milan and Venice as they have random additional surcharges for cutlery etc at dinners. Florence, Cinque Terre and smaller cities like Sienna are really beautiful and cheap to stay and explore in :) I found the larger cities was less comfortable because of the tourist traps and crowd but smaller cities don’t have the convenience of things u may like burgers if ur craving some haha.
@@AjaDang I've travelled quite a lot around Italy (I'm French so it's an easy and cheap trip for us). In my experience, the only part of Italy where people couldn't speak English was the countryside of the island of Sicily, in very small villages. And even then I would mumble the three words of Italian I had learned during the trip and we managed just fine :)
@@AjaDang that’s it! I actually thought of you when I first heard the announcement because of their focus on sustainability and keeping the natural environment of Sedona. Crossing my fingers they open in time for your trip!

Always looking forward to your videos! Is this planner edited on GoodNotes?
Yup!
I’m so excited I came across your video. I turned 30 and I’m ready to start fresh! Thank you! Love you Channel
Saving for a house down-payment in 2022🙏🙏
hopefully we both get our houses next year!
Solo bachelorette party sounds amazing!! I think I will do that for myself lol. Thanks for sharing, Aja! Creating systems for financial tracking and planning can be very overwhelming so seeing examples of your methods has been incredibly helpful!
this video motivated me to do my goal plan for 2022! thanks so much for your inspiration:)
loved this vid aja!!
You are def a thoughtful bride! We need to normalize your train of thought around bachelorette expectations.
when you're conscious about your own money you are natural more conscious about others'
I'm copying that solo bachelorette party thing for when I get married :D
Such a cool idea!! (hope you vlog parts of it🙏🏼)
I think it's the best way to go!
OMG I GOT A SHOUT OUT
Thank you for giving me the idea to plan ahead for gifts I know will be happening throughout the year and to save money for them up front!
I wish I could have done a month honeymoon. We did 3 separate ones costing about $8k total. Our small COVID wedding only cost $5k lol
where did you go on your honeymoon(s)?
Maui (recommend nYlos since you’re a foodie!) , Puerto Vallarta and Las Vegas (sparrow+wolf off the strip is our fav restaurant again for your foodie side) we basically just ate the whole time we were on our honeymoons.

Well, we already started february but I think I'm still on time to set some realistic financial goals. Love your video, thank you, I wasn't sure on how to start.
Hi, I love your vidéo. Where can we buy your big fancy book please ?
I want to make a baby fund but not sure where to start and if I should start with a investment account?
I really wish these financial planning videos/sinking funds would apply to me but I am just in so much debt I just can't begin to save.. :( one day I will look back to these videos for help saving money.
I didn’t save at all during my debt free pay off so I totally understand.
I love how organized and focused you are. It's so inspiring. Thank you.
I manage Italy for 2 weeks with under $1000. I would suggest spend less time in the tourist cities like Rome, Milan and Venice as they have random additional surcharges for cutlery etc at dinners. Florence, Cinque Terre and smaller cities like Sienna are really beautiful and cheap to stay and explore in :) I found the larger cities was less comfortable because of the tourist traps and crowd but smaller cities don’t have the convenience of things u may like burgers if ur craving some haha.
did you have a hard time communicating with locals in the smaller towns?
@@AjaDang I've travelled quite a lot around Italy (I'm French so it's an easy and cheap trip for us). In my experience, the only part of Italy where people couldn't speak English was the countryside of the island of Sicily, in very small villages. And even then I would mumble the three words of Italian I had learned during the trip and we managed just fine :)
I love how organized you are!
Will Brian be helping for postpartum savings?
since I'm the one pushing out a baby, I think that's the least he could do haha
There’s a new landscape hotel called Ambiente opening soon in Sedona that looks amazing! 💛
oooooooohhh. www.ambientesedona.com/about
@@AjaDang that’s it! I actually thought of you when I first heard the announcement because of their focus on sustainability and keeping the natural environment of Sedona. Crossing my fingers they open in time for your trip!

What planner do you use?
A solo bachelorette sounds cool! I typically do a solo birthday trip but a bachelorette version sounds so awesome!!! I never thought of that 😂 Plus, I don't need to worry about my friends' financial situations because I am very mindful of that too. Thanks for sharing, Aja! Continue being an inspiration!
I swiched to yearly gyme memebership payment plan after remebering my mom doing that years ago. Downside I had to get a new account but on the bright side I'm paid up for three years and have access to any gym now.
