  • I'm Aja Dang and it's time to set your 2023 yearly goals!! The is a plan with me video that breaks down my 2023 yearly goals and how I plan to achieve them. As I looked through my 2022 goals, I realized that I needed to be more specific in breaking down steps toward achieving my goals in order to hold myself accountable (you'll see more about it in the video)
I have been in a major rut (light depression?) for the last half of the year so I'm very excited to start fresh by setting personal, professional, and financial goals for the new year. Isn't it an exciting feeling when you get to dream big by setting up a plan?
    To breakdown this video:
    3-month goals:
    - start brainstorming chapters for my budget course (finally)
    - write intro/about me section of the budget course
    - go to tokyo!
    - for MSTRPLN: finish the first drafts of the excel budget spreadsheet, daily planner and notion planner.
    - change my last name
    - finish new desk decor
    - volunteer enough hours as LA Animal Services to handle rabbits
    6-month goals:
    - write the first three chapters of the budget course
    - shoot video component of the budget course
    - enjoy our honeymoon
    - test the MSTRPLN excel budget spreadsheet, daily planner and notion planner
    - volunteer enough hours with LASS to handle cats and dogs
    - Brian and I to start building a prototype for our doggie bags
    One year goals:
    - complete the remaining budget course chapters and launch
    - launch the MSTRPLN excel spreadsheet, daily planner and notion planner
    - move to New York (?)
    - get samples for the dog bags

Some other chapter suggestions: how to come back from a set back. Whether that’s a huge hospital bill or you just went crazy and spent money you shouldn’t have, how do you back on track? Also, how to talk about finances with your partner?

As women, I think it would be helpful to have a section on recognizing financial abuse. Lots of women are stuck in relationships without a means of escape because of financial abuse by a partner or family.

I was in this situation with my mother. She demanded money from me when I was working retail and making $400 every two weeks. Every time she got mad over any little thing she would kick me out of the house and I’d be left roaming the streets without a dollar to my name and my account in overdraft. It was one of the coldest, darkest most depressing times of my life. Your comment is so important, so many young women/women are in this situation. Best of luck to all of you ❤

Love hearing about your goals and plans! Something I love to do is section my goals so that I have a daily/weekly task, 3/6 month tasks/goal, and lastly it all leads into yearly/life goal column. For example, if get healthy is my end goal, I define what that looks like in each column. Daily: I start with walking, movement/exercising at least 5 days a week and meal prep as my weekly goal. Monthly goal could be to write out 4 meal ideas and grocery lists for each week and to have moved for an hour a day for 25/31 days, 3/6 month goal could be to weigh or lift some number and to adjust workout schedule, get annual checkup and blood work, etc. Hopefully that makes sense!

Thank you for your amazing videos Aja! Its great to have a role model to look up to, how to change our mindset about money and plan for things that matter to you! I sat down to also plan out my 2023 personal goals and I came to a complete blank! I'm turning 29 in January, live with housemates and working as a teacher with an okay salary... and I love my life so much! I truly think I am in my SLOW GIRL ERA... where I am just resting, spending time with people I love, working on my hobbies (which change every damn day...), traveling a bit, and saving money... for some future that's unplanned. Every day I feel just blessed and happy to be alive... I don't really have big plans and dreams right now and that's okay! My 2023 personal goals... go travel to a new country, find a club to join... and invest money (for some future that's unplanned???) !

Now I have more knowledge about personal finance. I just subscribed to your channel. Big ups to everyone working effortlessly trying to earn a living while building wealth in this recession. I’m 39 and my husband is 45, we are both retired being financial independent, no debts. Currently living smart and frugal with our money. Saving and investing lifestyle in the financial market made it possible for us this early even till now we earn monthly through passive income.

@Marco Pierre Generally, investing requires higher knowledge. For this reason, It's important to have a solid support structure (financial consultant) to guide you through especially in asset picking. I operate with (Lewis James Augustus) an investment advisor who partners with a licensed wealth management firm. For the record, the experience has been the best for my finance. He is quite popular for his services so you might have heard of him.
He made us financially stable by investing with his help, now I earn on a monthly basis through his passive income strategy... So I’ll advise you do get a good Investment advisor for yourself.

I find dogs easier than cats to work with even when you don't know them and I own 5 cats, but once you work with them a lot you learn their behaviors and signs for if they're ill or not or if they'll be good with kids or other pets. I had one cat from a rescue that I tried to socialize for a rescue, but he was just too traumatized and had to be without other cats. We eventually got him into a home by himself, but he'd get triggered easily and would attack the owner and had to be moved again to someone who could take him through therapy. Not entirely sure how that worked out. Felt so bad for him.

Hi Aja! Something that caught my attention in this video was the idea of building a brand that only runs on Etsy or Amazon. As someone who has been selling on Etsy for since 2016, you still end up needing social media and marketing. Maybe not as much for amazon, but Etsy requires even more SEO and different marketing than most other websites, and their fees can really add up to the point where it your own website might be cheaper, and easier. But my experience is in completely hand making a product with out working with manufactures, so that’s just something to keep in mind.
Also a huge thank you, due to your videos I’m now credit card debt free, still working on the student loans, and starting the process of saving for buying a home to build out a personal pottery studio for my business! Your tips have been super helpful, thank you!

Love the videos, I finally brought out my own MasterPlanner and started writing my goals. I feel like it's daunting sometimes to start setting goals, I always think whatever I write has to be done. I find myself trying to pick and choose goals to write down incase I fail. That's why I like seeing videos like this where you're not devastated something didn't get done but pivot from there. For me know goal setting is like setting up the equipment before playing the game. Like in soccer/futbal someone has to set up the goal so the players know where to focus, you may not always score but at least you know where to aim. Thanks again Aja.

Budget course!!! I was just thinking to myself that I wish you had a video series on how to fully utilize the planner from beginning to end, month by month, or even paycheck to paycheck. I often let myself get overwhelmed by all the blank space and the need to have my plan be perfect, a lot of “am I doing this right??” Then I put away the planner for a couple months because I can’t stand to see my “failures.” I know you have videos here and there, as well as your older videos as you were paying off your debt. Maybe if those were compiled into a playlist of some kind?
Long story short, would 100% take your budget course. ❤

I can definitely try to do a video about how I utilize my planner. Also, don't feel overwhelemed by the planner - I think what might be a good option for you is the Undated planner. You might feel too much pressure when there are dates attached (like you feel like giving up after not filling out your planner for one week) - undated planners give you more flexibility if you need it.
