I remember seeing this on a show and was mesmerized. Being brought up in Western Canada, I was amazed that this black man also got a standing ovation at that particular time. Awesome, definitely cannot be duplicated.
I will never forget stumbling up on this concert one day in a discount bin. This whole show ROCKED. And Carson held his own. Stage full of real talent. Real Entertainment. Real Show Business. Show business nowadays is more about commerce than talent. Back then you did not even make it through the door without this level of talent. No smoke and mirrors to give the illusion of talent...you had to HAVE talent.
TheUnstableThinker The original Brotherhood. Talent, style, classy suits, big cigars & liquor, great pals... when men were men!! True Brotherhood!! 🎤🎼🎷🚬🍷🥃🍹☺️
It was all undoubtedly scripted. After all, how could three guys rush over at once and help him up? The band played through it. It was a comedy routine by the greatest singers of the times. I feel so exhilarated by this video.
I wish I could print this page and be able to just carry this around as if the page was a portable ipod. I don't know why but that popped into my head and I was like....that's basically an ipod, but just it'd be so much more satisfying to have a large paper screen I can carry for this.....I'm tired. I should go to bed.
I did not like Carson's comments either, but I believe every word was rehearsed and scripted, even Sammy's reply. I didn't like the butt grabbing, either, but it must have some context for the times. I attributed Carson's comments to a poor choice of words by writers.
Music these days are crap, there's no love like there was in this. You can really feel the good vibes off their voices and personality. Now all they have is this crappy none sense...
They were entertaining, but their voices were definitely nothing special. I hear better vocalists down at the local karaoke bar any night of the week. Lol
Johnny Carson holds his own! Love It!
Miss them all.
It doesn't get better than this.
4 guys having fun, plain and simple. Just wonderful
It gives me chills and makes me tear up. It’s so good, it’s beautiful, nothing even remotely close to this today, absolutely amazing

it is said that Frank Sinatra wouldn't play at clubs if they didn't let sam perform. sam would perform opening acts for him at times
Wow, so glad I stumbled across this, A real gem.

My favorite performance by them. Thank you for uploading.
I followed Sinatra around the world to see him and i finally saw him in Australia. I love him - what a great singer
I know it was the sign of the times but shocking how Sammy was treated in this ....and as always he gives it so beautiful!!
Sammy was the right choice to start this off
These or some of the best rats I’ve ever know... Luv them ❤️
I didn't know George W. Busch sang that well... Nice to clean my ears.
Tears rolling down my eyes
Barely found this now. Love it though.
Johnny Carson??? Whodathunkit? This is the very definition of entertainment.
I think that’s peter lawford
It's funny how Johnny Carson remains basically indifferent at Dean Martin's fall!

That was Sammy saying it to Dean
dope
Back when class still existed
Oh yea baby. Ah. Huh! Poop yea!!!:-)
Am I the only one who notices that neither did Sinatra nor Dean Martin liked the comment Carson made?
I did not like Carson's comments either, but I believe every word was rehearsed and scripted, even Sammy's reply. I didn't like the butt grabbing, either, but it must have some context for the times. I attributed Carson's comments to a poor choice of words by writers.
abbas Naqvi Dean's face too
If you are referring to the "back of the bus" comment, that was actually made by SDjr. Watch it and listen closely again.
Sammy asked Carson how it feels to sit at the back of the bus, not the other way around 🤦♂️
Is there a recording like this of the Rat Pack singing the song, but straight all the way through?
Love it
Jawnny C😂
I wish to someday be as happy as sammy davis jr. In 2:05

Can't seem to find it on spotify :(
its called the birth of the blues by sammy davis jr.
Too bad Joey Bishop wasn’t there. He was underrated. Loved him.
Good
I have the full records of their songs on discs
This is Sammy Davis Jr
Ok full stop.
I ask as a straight male (methinks); how the hell is Sammy so dang sexy?
Damn.
What's the name of this song?
I'm 14 and I love this music hahaha

Carson didn't do too bad at all.

You have to be joking!!
