Well thats a 18th century European idea formed by the three contemporaries of the era namely Nietzsche, Kirkegaard and Dostoyevsky. Later developed ahead by JP Sarte.
The movie was epic, and his play was sweet filling. I wished something more, but that would have made it too sour for people to get in. The movie was a ball, but this time I got to dance.
My Mom's favorite song. She saw Sinatra when she was a teenager in Philadelphia 1940's.This one's for you Mama RIP love you You had great taste!!Ol blue eyes was a legend above all legends!!
This was my fathers favourite song .... We played it twice at his funeral, at his request. Not a religious man ..I'll Always remember my dad x He thought the words very apt . He died in May 7th 2014 ...
Murray : You serious aren't you ? You say you killed those 3 young men on the subway ? Arthur : Mhmmm Murray : Why should we believe you ? Arthur : I've got nothing to lose . Nothing can hurt me anymore . My life is nothing but a comedy .
I found this song at one of the most vulnerable moment of my life. Where i felt defeated and just couldn't see the end of it. With being pushed from all sides i was struggling to stand on my feet. To just be in control for one day of my life, one day. Left with a little bit of hope in my heart i kept trying. But, lately even that faint hope was beginning to fade away. The world around me turned dark and there was no light in sight at this tunnel of mine. Music has always been my escape and some random browsing landed me on this song. I'd heard it previously, though i never really felt it. But this time, it hit me. It hit me hard and hit me deep. I realized this is just May. I've still got half a year and half my life ahead of me. So now i just gotto get up, dust myself and get back in the race. Cause, that's life. 🙂

I was 21 years old man, was madly in love with my ex..... found out she was was pregnant during the was seeing a couple guys behind my back and aborted the child. That night I was honestly as my lowest and was seriously debating on commiting suicide..... jumped in my truck and about 3 minutes into my drive this song plays...... after I told Loneliness and Depression to go fuck themselves. Life is a challenge and theres nothing more satisfying then conquering your goals n having full control of yourself.
That's heavy stuff man, and I can sympathize with you on the cheating part, and the pregnant part, and the aborting as well. I know that feeling, it is a lonely dank emptiness. Glad that old blue eyes spoke to you that night my friend, and I'm glad you are now riding high. 👊🏻💪🏻🎉😊

Someone Else Death is a part of life, would listening to the last lines really change any ones viewpoint over the song and how it makes them feel? Especially since the two are interconnected... That's life
So, my grandmother suffered from dementia, and was literally one of the worst people to be around, but one of my last memories of this woman was singing this song together on the way to the hospital for one of her appts. there was no fear, anger, sadness, nothing negative just music connecting the hearts of humans.
Nobody, simply nobody sings this absolute gem of song quite like Sinatra. New York, New York. Come fly with me,My way -All great songs. Absolutely. Not considered by many to be his best. But for me it rocks. Grabs you first till last. The arrangement, his phrasing and delivery. He puts it all out there. The organ intro sets it up brilliantly. Take a bow maestro Frank.
I'm eternally grateful to Bethesda for the music in Fallout games. I don't think I would have picked up the guitar if it wasn't for the New Vegas soundtrack.
I met a angel named Cary Beck in South Dakota who led me to this song and gave me some wisdom about life. I will always remember this stranger. God Bless Him!🙏🏽
He needed his father more than anything. You saw throughout the whole movie he was a broken child and even said he had to be the man of the house for as long as he remembers
impossible to listen to this song without imagining Arthur doing that crazy dance..just wanna thank the joker movie for introducing me to this masterpiece
I find it interesting that many people here are saying this song gives them hope and determination to keep going because to me, it seems that by the end, he’s tired of picking himself up and wishes for death. I don’t think of myself as a pessimist, but I heard this for the first time not long ago and thought, ‘what a depressing but beautiful song.’ I’m really glad that others find inspiration in it though and I’m glad they’re still here today.
That's why I like the song because it's not all like "if I keep on going its going to turn out alright eventually" its more like "fuck, shit might never get any better, but here I am still pushing and fighting to get through today despite that uncertainty".
To me it’s like “hey the worst case scenario is to give up, so might as well try to be strong before that!” Also soothing how he just jumped right in to tell you out of it…
What I love about Frank Sinatra and older music like this is that it actually has SOUL in it. I know I sound like a pretentious music douchebag, but the truth is I know nothing about music besides a few piano notes. In Music like this, especially with powerful leads like Frank Sinatra was that they knew how to sing and use tempo to make you FEEL something out of the song. Most music nowadays is just there to hypnotize you with a catchy beat, music like this wants you to feel the story they are singing along with them. Frank and his songs always make me feel actual emotions, like New York New York and a sense of optimism, That's Life with hope, human spirit and resilience, and possibly ironically foreshadowing depression, and My Way, giving you a sense of stubborn pride and accountability to the way you conduct yourself and the consequences for your actions as major events in your life come to a close. It's true what they say, there will never be another Frank Sinatra. Hopefully, when I go to Vegas this summer, I can catch a Frank Sinatra Impersonator show on the Strip.
you are absolutely right. there is no great artists left. but there will be some one day. the perfect storm came around in sinatras hayday with so much talent. music started being geared more for kids during the advent of rock though many great artists from the 50s to the 80s but they never attained the level of sophistication of Frank and other great ones of his day. today the music is infantile shallow and mostly souless. you're right on the money. to prove it all the las vegas niye club acts are all tribute artists cause nothing original and authentically hollywood glamour music is gone cause American society is dumbed down and the music is a reflection of life style, aspiration , dreams, hopes ect ect.

I dont think this depressing, I think this song gives you the strength to carry on no matter what! I love it!!!

+krauserowns94 There's tons of brilliant music out there today you're just not looking in the right places!
you are absolutely right. there is no great artists left. but there will be some one day. the perfect storm came around in sinatras hayday with so much talent. music started being geared more for kids during the advent of rock though many great artists from the 50s to the 80s but they never attained the level of sophistication of Frank and other great ones of his day. today the music is infantile shallow and mostly souless. you're right on the money. to prove it all the las vegas niye club acts are all tribute artists cause nothing original and authentically hollywood glamour music is gone cause American society is dumbed down and the music is a reflection of life style, aspiration , dreams, hopes ect ect.
If you are trying to find good, more modern music, try electro swing. I love it as much as "older music"
