When I arrived in the UK after WW2 I grew up in an English village with a Norman church built on the remains of a Saxon one. The Romans farmed the hilly fields around it. It remained fairly intact as far as population and amenities went but today has become a trendy dorm for the nearby town. It has changed dramatically. This Suffolk village has not fared so badly but many of the once small and agricultural villages of England have become swamped with weekend warriors who can outbid locals on most properties.
All changes: what remains for many of us is the memory of a different time.

Sneakers and pajama pants... On a Harley Davidson! No Freddie, that guy in the book might have a great tan, beautiful body and gorgeous hair, but sneakers and pajama pants!
You have the ultimate look not only for motorcycling but for everyday wear. Button down shirt, jacket, jeans and boots. I love it because that's my style and it has been all my adult life so thank you for looking so good. And as usual, Monica is not only a wonderful partner for you but a great cinematographer. God bless you both.
PS, Sneakers and pajama pants, I'll bet you could kick his butt, that weenie!!!

I second your motion, Freddie. I consider a centre stand an absolute necessity on any bike. Invaluable when doing DIY work chain, tires, brakes, rear wheel etc. To me, a no brainer , but with the exception of RE, I don’t know what other bike manufacturers have them as standard equipment. When I am parking ,I always use the centre stand. More secure IMO. Cheers to you and Monika and keep on producing fine videos. Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦

Hate centre stands Freddie, heavy awful things, just as easy to walk the bike to do the chain, I simply mark one link so I know when I’ve done it all and lube top and bottom to be thorough 😊
Was that garage also a Husky dealer? 🏍️
*but more to the point… the errant tank badge 🙈

I am presently riding a Royal Enfield Himalayan (the two wheeled Land-rover) across Morocco and doing the Chris Scott off piste routes - currently in Western Sahara and the centre stand on my bike is essential - maintenance, chain oiling and of course, puncture repair + a bit more secure and safe when parked up as side stand buries into sand and gravel easily.

Aww Freddie, your videos are the best! I love the little tours of the English countryside that you take us on. I wish we had quaint, picturesque small towns like that here in the southern U.S.A. And you're making me want a Triumph (Riumph?) more and more. I think it might be as good of an all-around motorcycle as my beloved Sportster. I'm sure that it would be a good...what we used to call a street bike...without the image and brand-consciousness that comes with owning a Harley (even if you don't buy into it). Great videos by you and Monika - keep up the good work!

These villages are so beautiful. Nowt like where ilive. Thank you for bringing them. England at its best😊. When my dad owned a garage in the 60s petrol pumps were like that and older. All petrol was served by a human no self fill. At 5-6 yrs old I used to do it. They also gave gifts like a “tiger in the tank”. By changing the exhausts the fuelling may be wrong but not thought as bad as that. S

Freddie - re the post boxes, an interesting fact I overlooked for years, but it obvious once you see it. They each bear the symbol of the reigning monarch at the time they were installed.
    So that one, G-VI-R:
    George 6th Rex (King).
Most are E II R (Elizabeth 2nd Regina).
So that post box would have been isntalled between 1936 and 1952.

Hi Freddie and Monica. Long time subscriber and enjoy your channel. An (cheaper!) alternative to having a centrestand is a 'prop stand'. I've had one for ages so not sure what might be available now. In essence, it is an adjustable stand that will sit under the right side swing arm, so that the bike's rear wheel is off the ground while the bike is balanced on the side stand (LHS) and Prop stand (RHS). I also use a little tripod camp seat, and can sit and attend to my chain without all the micro movements! Of course even better is my Moto Guzzi V7 with shaft drive so I don't ever have to bother about cleaning and lubing chains. 🙂

Couldn't help but laugh when you said Europeans would have a seizure seeing how lax Americans are with safety. I see Harley riders all the time not even wearing a helmet at all, no gloves, nothing! It is crazy! I always gear up as much as I can, although I do admit in the summer time it gets so hot that I don't have protection on my arms haha. Ride safe sir, cheers from Houston Texas!

with your tec exhaust your bike may have been mapped for that exhaust, now you have put a stock exhaust back on you need to map it for that
the tec exhaust will let bike breath a bit more, if you know anyone with a comp and ttp program they can at least check what map is on it.
this is different to letting the bike idle for 12-15 mins to let the fuel air mixture adjust.

Freddie, you dont neet a center stand. You need a stick. Get a stick. A good old fashioned, strong stick. Put your bike on the sidestand, go around, take your stick, lift the bike over the sidestand a bit and put the stick under your swingarm. EasyPeasy.

Yes!! First comment I've read that says this which is odd lol.....I've been doing this for the last 30 years...I have a bit of velcro strap that I use to apply the front brake (or a cable tie loop, whatever you have) just prevents the bike rolling forward of the side stand....makes cleaning and lubing the chain a breeze!

Freddie, I understand that this channel is not solely about Monika, but what I keep noticing is that you want to entice here to ride more than 30 minutes. . .I have a Triumph T120 so I know that the triumph backrest with the same size rack is readily available. When I first got the bike I took mine off, but my daughter’s boyfriend wants to got with the family for rides (my 22 year old has a Honda 500 Rebel), so I offered to take him. . .one ride without the backrest convinced me to put it back on. . .took ten minutes, and he being able to lean back and relax changed everything. For the love of all that is holy, let Monica be comfortable and get the backrest! I don’t take it off because it doesn’t look dumb at all. . .Please don’t be selfish!! Best, JABJAB. PS. . .if you want a pic of the backrest let me know. It does change everything for passengers.

Yes Freddie if you change to a k and n filter or change exhaust system; I always start my bike ( don’t touch throttle) leave engine ticking over for around 12 minutes then turn engine off, then restart engine as normal and ride off into the sunset, happy riding. I’m not certain if this will get your fuel economy back to normal but it’s worth a try.

I started riding in an era where it seemed most bikes had a centre stand fitted as standard, now its the exception rather than the rule. But the last 15 years none of the new bikes i've bought had one. So i just tilt the bike over on the sidestand and put a prop of an appropriate size under the offside swingarm near the axle. I find a section of 2"x 2" works great, about 12/15 inches long. Keep the handlebars full right hand lock before you do it.

I had the self same problem with my 865 Bonneville. after replacing the exhaust back to standard the fuel consumption went stupid and the best I could get was 35 mpg I got the ECU remapped by my local triumph dealership it only took 15minutes and the consumption went from 35 to 58 mpg

My 2010 Bonneville has a centre stand. Not easy lifting the bike up onto it though

The bags really complement the Riumph well. Definitely going to look into getting a pair. Congrats on 110k subs too Freddie & Monika!.

I got the paddock stand bobbins from TEC in the uk for my triumph, instead of centre stand. Keeps the weight off the bike but allows easy servicing

Recalibration is real, not sure that’s the issue, but that is the right advice.

Westleton is famous because Prince William and Kate stayed at the Westleton Crown pub in the early days of their relationship. They were attending the wedding of a friend who lived locally.

Still sooo much to see in Suffolk! …Just a mile up the road in Yoxford is ‘ Yoxman’ !
Also from Yoxford it’s a nice ride to Framingham. Beautiful castle and village. And a well known pop star owns a good chunk of property there….

These videos bring back amazing childhood memories, Suffolk is such a beautiful county, I had family living in one of those chocolate box cottages and spent a lot of time there. Thanks for sharing with the world, but the way you butchered that scone 😂

Freddie have you thought of doing a follow-up on the BSA Gold Star. I've seen your initial review a few months back but would love to see you review it in depth now that the bikes have been on the road for some 9 or so months.
