- The BenQ EW2780 is a great deal and one of the best all around 27" monitors that you can get for your money. IT's a 27" 1080p full HD, LCD IPS monitor that has built in speakers and has HDR support, and HDRi technology. It even has Eye Care, which is different blue light settings to help reduce the strain on your eyes, and it even has a 5ms response time. The MSRP is $199. It's definitely a solid monitor that works great for work, work from home, gaming, and even media consumption.

I've had a BenQ for 4 years now. I got it for the low blue light filter due to my light sensitivity. I like that this new one I am getting is IPS and has a better refresh rate for the price.
Thank you so much for this amazing review
Great Video, helped me Out greatly 💪
You showed how the Stand is attached, That was important info for me thanks! I plan to be portable with my next monitor purchase.
Glad I could help
Good review! How does it compare to the GW2780 in terms of viewing angle or text clarity?
What do you think of going down to 24" for better specs in the same sub 200$ budget?
Fire video, just picked one up. Boutta start streaming w this monitor 🔥🔥
Awesom e.
The video was very well done and informative. Do you know how well this monitor would hold up doing Game Development stuff? I'm mostly a software developer but I enjoy building games as a hobby. I just need a monitor that's decent and not too expensive. Thanks in advance :)
Great review
Thank You So Much!
thank you for this video

Thanks for the video it really helped me to decide if this was the monitor for me. It was.
Awesome. Glad I could help out! Thanks for watching.
@@TechOdyssey Thanks again. People like you are the quiet heroes of RUclips.
I just ordered this and they sent me the ew2780u which is the 4k version. I paid $180 but recieved the higher priced one that cost around $500. Yay for me except now I need a pc that can actually run in 4k without lagging
Oh wow. Crazy
Wow
Who did you order it from? BenQ themselves?
@@Mr_N8o yes
@@Mr_N8o they sent it out as a review unit. You can get it from benq or Amazon
Thank you for great content and guide
No worries!

Hi, can advise between Lenovo Q27q-10 vs this option from BenQ EW2780. Both are 27 inches. Both are same prices for me. 1 is QHD, another is FHD. My main concern is for EYE care. Flicker free & Low blue light. Please share your insights, will appreciate it. My laptop reso is QHD Legion 7. But external screen will mainly be used for Work rather than gaming.
Great video! I learned a lot! I liked and subscribe!
Are there any screen tearing when fps goes beyond the monitor's refresh rate?
Howdy!
Is there any backlight bleed on this monitor?
Hey, i'm confused in between 27 inch and 24 inch 1080p monitor, some say in 27 inch text is not that sharp your eyes would strain, some say it's just fine, i wanted to buy a big screen but could never experience 27 inch monitor. Can you suggest i should go with 27 inch or 24 is best? And my pocked not allowing for a 2k panel.
Hello my friend. I'm thinking of buying this monitor mainly for design and for occasional gaming. What would you recommend?
Sir, which graphic card do u use. Does it support gaming with Nvidia GPU? Please let me know
How’s the text readability on this ? Is this 27 inch monitor good for email
Based and coding work ?
I think to buy EW2780 or BL2780T. After this review it seems that EW2780 is really good. But I can't find any review on youtube for BL2780T.
Nice video 👍👍 Keep it up Bro
Thank you! I'll try.
Hi, does this has a PWM flicker when you take a video on it in slow motion? Would appreciate a response.
is it antiglare (matt finish) or glossy?
Thx for the informative video. Snagged one from Newegg. Nice & affordable upgrade. Only hiccup are the speakers,...kinda cheesy sound.
Exactly what I am thinking. Wished they would not include it. Then the price would be cheaper and the probably save space and make things a little space saving?
The HDR option is a lot more then the $199 on Amazon
Would you recommend this monitor for Video editing, photoshop and casual gaming? Heard the color gamut is 72% NTSC, but what about sRGB?
this is my question as well, hope someone would answer
If you want to make money from those things you should be paying good money for the monitor, atleast double the price of this. I do photography and my £200 DELL monitor will not calibrate to a point where I'm happy to print something and know the outcome. The contrast isn't there, cheap monitors are difficult to calibrate.
can I use this monitor on a vesa mount in portrait mode?
is this benq monitor is LCD or LED? you did not mention it....thanks..
Asus VA27EHE vs BenQ EW2780 which is better all around? please let me know
I can’t find this ew 2780. I can only find the gw2780 on Amazon. Where can I find this one
Is it better than a QHD monitor of similar size?
Did it have split screen to use multiple windows
I have also this monitor what can i do to make the color better?
can I connect my MacBook Air 2019 to this through a HDMI to usb c
Does this one better than ew2770 ? anyone can give opinion? Im using it for productivity, watch movies and office use.
Hi friend, this is led monitor or lcd monitor ??
Which one is your keyboard?
I m confused b/w 24 n 27 inches, Both are full hd. So if I use 27 inch is there any pixelation issue I am mainly using for work and occasional multimedia use. Are the texts clear ?
Which one did you end up buying? Is 27 inch one too pixelated?
Which one would better on the ps5 this monitor or the ex2510
0:5:52 please tell me how to make that flashing led in that sensor.
Benq gw2780 , dell s2721hn or ASUS VA27EHE for coding??
Hi sir! Would you recommend FHD or QHD version of this model? I just use for officework and texts
fhd
How's text at this resolution? I would be primarily using it for programming and reading docs, with occasional YT.
have you made your choice ? I"m in the same situation... if you could give me a feedback
@@fktudiablo9579 find it perfect for my use case. Will need to get another monitor at some point, as I don't find it big enough for docs and vscode to be side by side but might just be me.
Just bought it thanks to this review, no regrets!
Awesome. I'm glad my video was helpful. Enjoy your new monitor
How's your experience with it so far? would you recommend it?
@@yetanothert7 So it's great if you don't sit in front of it for long periods of time where it's at a desktop distance from your eyes. The text can look more jagged which can cause eye strain after a while. But I use it as a second monitor so it's fine. If you are going to use a 27 inch as your main for long hours at a time as a desktop screen I would upgrade to a 1440p panel (but it does mean you could need a more powerful PC depending on the tasks you use it for). Personally, I would recommend the BenQ EX2780Q, it's the best monitor I have ever used by a long mile. Hope this helps!
@@btkb1427 Thanks, really appreciate it!
I am looking for a second monitor to use connected with my laptop for work (consultant, aka ppt, excel, outlook etc) but also for some occasional PS4 action (mainly CoD) - would you say this one could work?
@@yetanothert7 For gaming this monitor is good :) but it really depends on your usage for your work, if you are going to sit in front of it for many hours I day I would say no (I assume it would be your main monitor if you are plugging it into your laptop). My GF has the 24-inch version of this monitor and it's really great, you don't get the pixel density issue on her screen :)
We want a video about Samsung Dex, and thanks for the video from 🇸🇦
Is the 250nits brightness enough for a well lit room?
I think so. My office has a lot of lighting and it was fine
Is the text sharp enough since it's a lower resolution for a 27 inch?
It’s less ideal than a 24” but it looks fine to me
Do HDMI sources switch automatically? If I connected my PS4 and my PC for example
I’m not sure. It was plugged into my computer. I didn’t have multiple sources to test with it
Amazon price dropped these ahead of prime day. Appreciate you measuring the decibels, it was a nice touch 👌
Actually, you can see the YT volume of both the songs he played wasn't at MAX(at 6:18), so I'm pretty sure it would go higher than 80dB if he went all the way up.
What about the audio quality? I need to use it both monitor PC and TV. Thanks
Not ideal for watching videos and gaming. You can use it and it works but I would recommend headphones or actual speakers for that
Can we use it for video editing without buying a color calibrator? Nice video.
I don’t know anything about color calibrators but you can certainly video edit on it. I did.
@@TechOdyssey thank you for the reply. Were your videos color accurate or were they over or under saturated?
Megan J I don’t do any color correction so I didn’t pay any attention to it. They didn’t look unnatural or concerning, but that’s really the best I can offer. Sorry. Not really my thing.
how about Back lit Bleed ?
How many hz has the Monitor?
Hey bro, is good for color grading and editing if I'm on a tight budget?
I think it’s good. I used it for video editing. It’s not going to be as amazing as a more expensive and specifically tailored monitor for editing and grading but I think on a budget it is good.
@@TechOdyssey are the colors kinda accurate? Please let me know. I know they won't be 100% accurate but atleast of they can be 90-95% accurate?
@@sparsh.bharth unfortunately this one does not have any color gamut ratings or profiles for editing, so it’s likely not going to be as accurate as one specifically designed for what you’re looking for. I used it for my video editing and had no issues with it but my needs and expertise in this area are likely not as demanding or relevant as yours. I would say If you’re concerned about it to pick one up from Amazon where you can return it easily if doesn’t meet your expectations.
Good for photo edit
Does it support HDMI 1.4
This monitor good for xbox series s?
Hi Can you confirm, if an external speaker can be connected to it? Does it have audio out port?
Yes it can be connected.
still running ps4 to this day and this monitor is looking like a steal right now for 160$
how many hertz does it have ?
Can this monitor set up with a PS4?
is this monitor good for editing????
Hello, may I ask how about the pixelation on this? And the HDR is for real?
And is HDRi difference between HDR?
Hi, would you recommend using this as a TV? Just connect it to a TVBox and a PS4 to watch tv or play games.
As a TV? Like, with streaming services?
I’d like to expand on this question: aside from using it as a second monitor for my laptop, would it be safe to assume this would be good for gaming such as PC, Switch, etc?
This is perfect budget monitor for PS4 pro..HDR on benq monitors are superb! Even if its 1080p, it still looks super crisp! I have the EW277HDR, the older model of this lineup and its still amazing!
@@JappethBen your benq is sharp because it has VA panel...😑

No. It doesn't
Please help this monitor or philips 246e9qjab???
I can't honestly spend more than €200 at the moment, and I've been doing tremendous amount of research. We just moved to another country, and we had to build our photo and 4K editing video pc again. And we, believe it or not, forgot about the monitor 😅
For the price, I don't think I can find something better, what do you think? At least until we get our business up and running again over here. Thanks in advance.
It’s a solid monitor. I think you should be fine.
is It compatible with MacBook Air m1? has anyone had any issues
I bought the Acer Nitro VG280 because of the 4K but the speakers are absolute crap. Are these better?
No. They probably aren't. These speakers exist, but they aren't great.
did anyone notice a camera under the BenQ logo?
This is the first time ive bought something in india that costs similar to US prices.. Usually its atleast 20 percent more expensive here
How has it been? Good for both work and movies?

benq ew2780q only show's up as 8 bit color on windows and drivers . its sposta be a 10 bit color monitor that why i bought it ???
Would this pair well with my ps4 as this monitor supports hdr

Hello People.
It's this Benq better than Asus VG245H?
I'm a graphic designer, how is this monitor for design? Does it have accurate colors and good sharpness?
Get viewsonic they create monitors for graphics design and jave good colours
it's 2017's model. there many others late 2020's monitor like ASUS VY279HE says eye care+ on this price range or cheaper. Should I buy this old technology while my consideration is EyeCare. I have to use Computer for over 8+ hours a day, and my eyesight become poor day by day. need your suggestion.
As far as i know the "gw" version is the 2016 model while the "ew" is the 2019 model
What’s a good budget 1440 monitor? I’m in the market for a new monitor for photography
how many hz
Is this the same with benq ew2480? Is it good in PC build?
Yes. It’s the same. It’s just the 24” version instead of the 27”. It’s a good monitor

I love it. Still my primary monitor. I liked it so much I bought it.
@@TechOdyssey sounds very reassuring, gonna buy it too. by the way, do you use the ama during gaming? words on the street that this might cause ghosting or more input lag

So basically, the e-paper mode is just black and white LCD mode ?
Nothing like a real e-ink display ?
Basically yes
What's the difference between this and BenQ Ew2480? Thank you
24 inch vs 27 inch. Monitor screen size are usually in their names.
Getting one second hand for a bout 85 bucks. Seems reasonable and bang for bucks
I have a doubt in the benq website... EW2780 is been mention as led ips and here in your video it lcd ips??????
My understanding is that IPS was an LCD technology. I haven't heard of IPS LED - maybe it's a thing, I don't know. Also, I did a lot of research on this and viewed different things and thought I had seen it called an IPS LCD, and also an IPS LED. Bottom line is that it looks good and the review I did holds up well. Whether it's LED or LCD, it's still IPS, and looks sharp, especially for the price.
@@TechOdyssey It's IPS LCD with LED backlight because LCD can't light up on its own.
How good is this monitor for programming?
I think it's fine. It's a good all around monitor
@@TechOdyssey Thank you
Is this any good for video editing
Yes. I edited a lot of videos on it.
TechOdyssey i mean is it colour accurate? Just saw another video saying its not colour accurate. So how do you find this when you grade. Compared to something to like Asus Pro Art.

@@YourStoryteller ofcourse pd2700q. It's 27 inches 2K IPS monitor. Best in the 2k range. But also hell lot expensive than the BenQ counterpart.
This monitor is not LED, but it's advertised as LED. The 75hz refresh rate is totally useless as it reduces the resolution and you can see vertical grid lines.
Is it a LCD or led monitor ( benq saying it's a ups led) and is it good for graphic designers
